He shouldn't. But for some he has to. And for a bunch of those they focus on the bad ****.

That's why the Bible and all Holy Scriptures basically suck balls.

I wouldn't say he "has" to. God is a human invention, right? People's thoughts and feelings at the time got encoded into the bible in the context of an omnipotent being. Much like the tribal bedouin raiding parties got encoded into Muslim theology and eventually became "Jihad". So we have a completely materialistic (and practical, even if immoral) behavior being encoded into a religious/holy behavior. And it's still the same today. ISIS, for instance, are basically a well-organized crime syndicate with an elaborate religious propaganda.

"Religious propaganda gives a dynasty at its beginning another power in addition to that of the group feeling it possessed as the result of the number of its supporters... This happened to the Arabs at the beginning of Islam during the Muslim conquests."

-Ibn Khaldun

For some, yes. You must know people who will honestly say that finding Jesus saved their lives and/or helped them get back on the track, etc.

I can't relate with that but I can understand and empathize with it.

Usually those are people who were indoctrinated as kids whose worldview equates religiousness with the straight and narrow and non-religiousness with being lost. So it's not so much that religion helps them as that they were set up to be dependent upon it from an early age, which is one of the biggest probems with religion imo.

Spot on. Religion is very good at telling you that you're broken. That way, they can hook you in with a cure.

Aww thanks love. That's one of those things, that's just uhhh well, a permanant source of torment and embarrassment, so I just kinda don't talk about it. I was recently looking for support groups for other 2nd geners the other day.... And there is like 1 or something. So there is such a small population of us I suspect. But thank you all the same doll.

I do meet people who say that, but I don't think it's the only path, and I don't think they get "back" on track, I think they get on a new track and for me sometimes it's kind of sad because it's like they turn over a piece of themselves to the religion in return for some kind of contentness.

So this just happened in my hometown:

https://academyabuse.info/

After doing some research, I realized that the CSB (Christ the Savior Brotherhood) which is now an orthodox outfit used to be a new age cult outfit called Holy Order of MANS (HOOM) and went into putting on an orthodox skin after the Jonestown Massacre happened (to avoid the cult image).

Holy Order of MANS - OrthodoxWiki

So I emailed the academyabuse people and asked them about it and one of them was like 'yup, I was in HOOM in my youth, it was ****ed up'.
