Take race out of the equation and its just another whack job with mental health issues going on a shooting rampage. Seems to happen all the time in the States

I'm glad we have gun control in Canada, sadly not even the whole sale slaughter of kindergarten children can bring change south of the border.

Your country has literally a tenth of our population, so it's not really surprising that it seems like more happens here.

The thing is Batlord, that mass shootings rarely if ever happen here. We've had an increase in gun crime over the past decade due to the crossborder drugs for pot trade (our drugs your guns) but otherwise I can pretty much walk down any ghetto street in Canada and feel relatively safe.

Statistically there is relationship between the proliferation of arms in a country and gun crimes. In other words, the distribution of legal fire arms leads to a larger black market of illegal fire arms.

So keeping that in mind, and the fact that gun control is pretty much a futile effort in the US, so long as its decided on a state by state basis, you might want to at least look at restricting firearms to people who have a history of mental health issues, because tougher gun crime laws aren't going to deter mass shooters.

Eh. Same ****, different state. This happens so often that it's almost considered normal. They'll say the person responsible has a brain damage, they'll speak of it as a tragedy, and then the news will forget about it in a month.

That's a pretty callous attitude you have on the matter. If it happened down the road from you or involved your friends or family would you feel the same way?

(obviously I feel bad that this type of thing happens, and I feel bad for the families that lost someone in this. please make sure you read this part before reading on so that you don't think i'm being insensitive)

I didn't say anything about my feelings toward the victims. I'm saying the situation in general is no different than the Dark Knight movie theater shooting, the elementary school shooting, the marathon bombing, etc etc. Honestly, it's terrifying to even walk out the front door anymore because of the kind of fear this sort of stuff brings. I mean, hell, someone could literally walk onto one of the busses that I take home and just shoot up the entire bus. That's ****ing terrifying.

?

Ok first things first let me tackle this with you, if you are crazy as a shit house rat you can't just walk into Shooters World and say well hell I'd like that one over there. It don't work like that. There is criteria for owning a gun. The problem is, I can call 3 people and buy a gun off the street right now (at 6:49 am no less) Or I can go to a gun show and buy an unregistered weapon from the right vendor if I so choose. Also the problem isn't the responsible people who own guns its the lunatics that know they can also hit up that same vendor or those 3 people I know or whatever so there is no way for the government to see if these people have diminished capacity.

Also man, I can walk though any hood in the US and not have any problem whatsoever. (I have lived in various hoods in the Us, North South East and West.) People are not looking to see what color you are, or if you are armed they are looking for weakness. And weakness is what gets you jumped, shot, or robbed. If you are aweare of your surroundings and don't look down like litterally walk down MLK with your shoulders back, and head up, and acknowledge the people playing bones on the corner with a How you doin you aint got **** to worry about, people are fear based beings and predatory in nature, and if you puff yourself up like a blow fish its all mental. Im not saying there isn't the possibility of being in crossfire or the wrong place at the wrong time, but if your body language radiates don't **** with me your ok 97% of the time. I know this because I have walked through some ****ty neighborhoods alone at three am and been ok, every time. And there isn't really much that is intimidating about me. I am 5'7 medium build woman. I mean if anyone is a target at that hour should be me, but nope, **** its so mental even a pitbull won't swing on me.

Rick Perry has referred to the Charleston church massacre as an 'accident'.

The former Texas governor, and a Republican presidential candidate, made the comment as he slammed President Obama for suggesting gun control is an issue in America.

An accident! This guy is hoping to run for president, how dumb would a person have to be to vote for a retard like this. He's so ****ing dumb he's hilarious.
