IMO, this statement is more in-depth than it appears at first glance... When you get down to the basic primary instincts that drive humans (and every other animal) to violence, "breeding rights" is very high on the list. This also involves controlling who breeds, who doesn't breed, and who breeds with whom (do I really need to reference the Nazis as an emample?)

I'm not saying this theory is the primary motive of war. Just an oft-overlooked element worth considering

Well with all due respect, kind sir, you can hardly start a thread based on human hardwiring without expecting to talk about our most primal, basic hardwiring: instincts, and the role they play leading us to war.

No that's not it. You're quoting a joke post I made, so your reply, if you're going to quote just that post, should refer to the quoted post, which it does not, hence my confusion. If you're talking in general terms of the thread, sure, but why not just a new post? Why quote a post that is humourous and, concerning your post, out of context?

It wasnt out of context... Well, depending on the context of the slang term "wanker"... So this might just be a generational blunder on my part.

Regarding the last part, thanks for noticing; few at MB do, and I'm usually too amused by this to correct them

I generally make a point of finding out what gender members are. Like our newest, Brian something, is also a lady. So I keep that information to hand in my brain. The default position is male, but I think it's important to be sure of that when you're addressing someone. I'm male, in case you weren't aware.

At the risk of further derailing the thread... What gave my gender away, if you don't mind my asking? I mean, I've mentioned it in passing a time or two, but I'm really not here often enough to have built up any memorable persona here.
