I received a Moody Blues greatest hits CD. Surprisingly, I only knew one song (which everybody knows).

They had a few hits I liked
Go Now was their first hit, it's more 60s UK R&B compared to the rest of their stuff
Tuesday Afternoon
I'm Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band
Ride My See-Saw
Tuesday Afternoon
In Your Dreams is very 80s

This year was a pretty filmy year. I got:

Ran by Akira Kurosawa on Blu Ray

The Criterion Collection Blu Ray of Kubrick's Paths of Glory

Kubrick's Spartacus on Blu Ray

The old Janis Films release of Kurosawa's Throne of Blood

Better Call Saul Season 1 on Blu Ray

An el-cheapo Pop Flix box set of six spaghetti westerns called "A Fistfull of Westerns" including "They Call Me Hallelujah", "I Am Sartana, Trade Your Guns for a Coffin", "Blindman" (with Ring Starr), "And God Said to Cain", "The Fighting Fists of Shanghai Joe" and "White Comanche" (With Captain Kirk).

A Hundred Years of Japanese Film (book) by Donald Richie.

The Alfred Hitchcock Story book by Ken Mott

The Story of Film book by Mark Cousins, plus the 15 part documentary of the same name.

Some of that is gifts to myself, but good haul.

So the only music related thing I got as a gift this xmas was a weird one..

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin vinyl

I'm not really a Zeppelin fan as is (and this wouldn't even be my favorite of theirs) so Im sort of at a loss at what exactly to do with it.. I would kind of bad selling it, but I'm probably not going to listen to it either unless someone else really wanted me to play it. Just an odd thing to get me as I don't talk about them or listen to them at all haha.

I'll buy it if that's what it comes downs to. And I don't even own a turntable.

Make a video of you setting it on fire, upload it to Youtube, and then post it here. I wanna see Chula cry.

Haha well I'm still trying to figure out why. He usually does things for specific, if not convoluted, reasons, so it's kind of a puzzle. He said it's because I need a "classic album" in my collection, which could be a shot at my music taste but as far as I know hes not a giant Zep fan either.

He also told me to just put it up somewhere and not open it, so idk. Maybe it's a "this will increase in value" sort of thing.

This is maybe the most intriguing gift I received so there is that.
