I know that was supposed to be snarky, but just because you had it rough growing up doesn't mean you can relate, I sure as fuck can't and I've been a lot closer to it than you ever have. I agree you have to realize it, but like I said when you're so far gone that the community actually glorifies the very thing oppressing it, simple education isn't enough. It's seriously like Stockholm Syndrome at the community level.

Edit: I think it's awesome that you do stuff like that. I went to community college with a valedictorian gang banger who ended up getting killed in a shootout. Anecdotal sure, but this kid was SMART and did a ton of work for the college and still couldn't escape the **** he was in.

Umm, about 3 years ago now.. But prior to that for 10+ years getting drugs. I grew up near Newark look it up.

Also, where I was doing this is a community that is tight knit. Meaning this is an open air drug market, ppl getting ****ed up on the corner pimps hoes etc. I sat down next to ppll talked to them, asked them about themselves etc. A little bit caring and concern as well as being half black helps bro.Also having been arrested and being a felon helped as well.Because you truly are part of the demographic you are speaking too. My traveling throughout the world and us growing up cult helps me be able to find a way to talk to just about anyone.

Right three years ago is a lot different then 3 days ago. Buying drugs is not the same thing as actually sitting down and saying good morning how are you .....and going from there....its so simple being kind and compassionate yet its a ****ing revolutionary act in and of itself.

You also shouldn't assume. Of course I had conversations like that with some of those people over 10+ years. I also had conversations with kids from those situations that I went to college with.

I agree with the latter though. Not necessarily revolutionary, but I appreciate its' importance and the impact it can have.
