The majority of Americans want more Democrats and more liberal policy

Electoral College and Jerrymandering aside the Democrats are still utterly incompetent for not being able to sell giving free stuff to the working class

First you have to deconstruct the myth that hard work pays off. The ultra rich already know from personal experience that their wealth has nothing to do with effort but for the working poor it comes down to forcing people to accept that everything they've been taught and believe is founded on bull****. It's a painful pill to swallow.

I've come to believe meritocracy is one of the most dangerous/harmful ideas in modern society
