Yea I'd take a slightly different approach than Marie and elph. You can hijack a nation through forced immigration. See modern day Israel.

But there's a different power dynamic at play.

In the case of say south Africa or Israel, you have a powerful colonial force moving in and subduing an indigenous population.

In the case of Europe, you have the former colonial empires of the world being sought out as a place to live by people from countries that were formerly colonized by Europeans, largely. That changes the picture a little bit.

I do think there's an argument you might need to control immigration because if you do too much too fast there seems to be a sort of cultural backlash that leads to the rise of fascist and nationalist parties in Europe. But I dunno. I don't live there. I just go off what I see on YouTube.
