The weather machine part. I'm not sold on it but my friend believes in it.

I wonder if Black Francis is okay having to deal with back to back hurricanes like that. Hurricane Maria ****ed up Puerto Rico so badly. They are still without power for 3 days in a row now.

I thought of him once I heard Maria was heading his way. Hope he's safe.

Yeah, I forgot that he was in Puerto Rico! I hope he and his family are ok.

The authorities will be working on hospitals and streetlights first, so that domestic power may not come back for a long time. I once lived through a much milder hurricane and the city was without domestic power for two or three weeks. It came back piecemeal across the city, and so the inconvenience depended on where you lived; if your neighbour was the mayor, or the mistress of an electrical company boss, you got electricity back quicker than insignificant folk like me. I still remember those weeks; lots of conversations by candlelight, and the first question when you met someone was always, "Got any power yet?"

I was in St. Thomas when hurricane Hugo hit but I don't remember anything about when power was restored. I only remember the military coming around with food plates and having to use water out of barrels that my grandmother had stocked up on before the storm hit. Using it to flush the toilet, shower with and boil to drink.

To make a cost comparison with a conventional power supplier, I wonder if you have any figures for typical monthly bills? Say a family of four, with an airconditioner and two light sabres; how much should they expect to pay if they decide to get their power from the Dark Side?

Where's St.Thomas, dj? Yes, anything that requires pumping - water or petrol - is going to be a problem. Also charging up cellphones, etc.

Well done your grandmother, btw !

It is directly east of PR. One of the US Virgin Islands. It is like a short 20 mins plane ride to PR from St. Thomas

Nobody pays for their power when they join the Dark Side: it's taken from the weak and given to the strong. We also have very good loyalty bonus points.

In Heaven, I would assume.
