Anybody see this? Katie Porter passing the time during Kevin McCarthy's vote-a-thon last week.
This woman is so awesome! https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Fl4mo6rWQAEDHZ1.jpg |
Well good news, Chula, because she's running for Senate

Friends,
Lately I've had a desire to explore contemporary progressive political theorism, criticism, and commentary. I've journaled extensively on my political ideologies, and on the Political Compass Test I register at the intersection of Anarcho-Socialism, Anarcho-Collectivism, and Anarcho-Communism, but I recognize the utopian idealism of this trifecta and that an under-educated, uninformed, and apathetic populous will never realize such a vision. I've got the classic texts by Noam Chomsky and the mammoth No Gods No Masters: An Anthology of Anarchism, but I wanted to read something more current. Being a Sanders supporter and an advocate for Democratic Socialism, several video shorts by Robert Reich found their way into my feed over the years. For those not immediately familiar with him, Reich is a powerful and positive figure in American politics who has worked tirelessly to educate the American people about what has gone wrong from the Reagan administration forward, and, more importantly, specifically what we can do to repair and restore accountability in governance and in corporate behavior. Reich served as Secretary of Labor in the Clinton administration, for which Time Magazine named him one of the 10 most effective cabinet secretaries of the twentieth century. He's written 18 best-selling books, and co-created the award-winning documentaries "Inequality For All," (streaming free on YouTube), and "Saving Capitalism," (now streaming on Netflix). Reich routinely posts concise video shorts to his website and social media outlining how we can take our country back. The next time you feel like exploring the causes and consequences of political action in the 20th century with a hopeful message for the future, I invite you to check out his video shorts on robertreich.org, or either of his documentary films, which provide a simple but clear primer on the fundamentals of where we are as a nation. I've just reserved a copy of Reich's latest book - The System: Who Rigged It, How We Fix It published in 2020 in the midst of the Trump presidency. I'm hoping it goes into greater depth than his documentary films so I can develop a better understanding of our political climate. If any of you have read The System or any of Reich's other books, I'd welcome your thoughts for or against his writing, as well as any other recommended literature on the subject. https://i.imgur.com/IU9umS0l.jpg |

First off, it's a terrible book written by a grifter f*cking loser so he's going to get a large influx in sales for his sh*tty book now. Besides that, the optics are terrible. I don't want the democratic party to be the edgy f*cking snarky "look at how much this doesn't matter" party. All this is doing is giving the right reasons to pass another horsesh*t bill or tweet another hateful tweet that gets lunatics riled up. It's political theater at its finest and I'm tired of seeing it from elected officials regardless of party. Just sshut the f*ck up and do your job. Funny thing is, I generally like Katie Porter and the job she is doing. I still do, but I can also think this sh*t is f*cking lame as balls. |

Actually, especially because it was her and the last thing you would have expected. She's 'done her job' and then some during her stint so far so I'm cutting her a little slack. |

I was pretty proud about the first 50 or so pages, and thus I gave the manuscript to my friends, lovers and family to read. From what I understood of what they told me was that even though my writing style was phenomenal and clear, the things I wanted to say were apparently "not-very-scientific", "not-very-ground-breaking" or even "not-new". So I stopped trying and the rest of the book is basically me being me. Without the pose of a prophet. So some chapters are absurdist comedy stuff, some are psychedelic short-novels and some are just rants about how the world is unfair. The world is ****ing unfair. |

But is all this anger really just coming from the book she was pretending to read? |

A few years ago every chain bookstore in NYC had a display shelf with that book and 10 others with titles like Un**** Yourself: The Ultimate Guide to How Become a Guy Who's Pussygetting and Money |

The New York Democratic Party should be purged just for losing to that guy, let alone all the other seats they lost.

I have no doubt Batty means purged in the most literal sense.

I mean if they'll let me...

I loved this recent 8-and-a-half minute interview clip with Jon Stewart aggressively debating gun regulation in the States with a southern senator who believes the solution to reducing the epidemic of child gun fatalities in America is to remove all background checks and regulations and hand out more guns to everyone.
Jon does a masterful job here and it only gets better with each passing minute of the clip. And from the 6-minute mark to the end, Stewart presents two powerful arguments effectively refuting the senator's position. A lot lately, I have seen republicans such as Laura Loomer, Trump, and more recently, even Mike Lindell and Roger Stone for some reason attacking other republicans... particularly Desantis...
It's apparently not even the first time it happened because Nick Fuentes apparently also attacks other republicans for quite sometime. It's almost like there are three political parties rather then two. |
Election time is coming up. That's the period when the parties eat their own before they get stuck with a lousy nominee.

Yep. Especially when it comes to DeSantis. Trump is terrified of him.

Well this was infuriating
