Say something of interest

Who needs communism if I don't get the standard of living I like right now? Gonna make me have to go put in 12 hour days on the farm when I want to go to the beach? Screw that.

Let the singularity arrive and AI and robots fulfill every labor need out there, eliminating the need human labor anywhere and therefore the need for money. Couple that with nanotech and machines that repair our cells and we are all good.

What the **** are you talking about?

Lucem Ferre 08-01-2019 11:14 PM

Why would anybody be working 12 hours a day on the farm?

Frownland 08-01-2019 11:23 PM

Because all of the jobs will be done by machines in the future except for farming because machines like gardening as a hobby and feel like doing it as a job would disrupt their work/life balance.

Are y’all joking or do you really not get Ant’s point?

He’s saying we don’t need to return to the agrarian servitude suffered by the people caught in 20th C communist revolutions and that we’re approaching the technological means to become post-money. He’s talking about using technology to serve our revolutionary goals.

I just don’t get why everything he says is met with hostility.

I was 100% serious and I didn't even see Anteater's post.

What he said was ****ing stupid. 3 reasons why what he said was ****ing stupid.

1) He thinks people are going to be forced to work 12 hours every day on a farm. We have a small percentage of farmers here and a surplus of food. We wouldn't need that.

2) He acts like people in a capitalist society are not over worked and are not denied the privilege to enjoy life because he's not a ****ing laborer.

3) When automation takes over you really think the people running the companies are going to give up an economic system that puts them in positions of power over everybody else? He wasn't saying anything about a revolution he was trying to talk **** on communism. He's putting forth the same idea people had decades ago when people thought we'd be working less hours for the same pay. Except what really happened is people got fired and Detroit never recovered.

I know you're not this dumb so I don't get why you pretend to misunderstand the undertones of his commentary.
