For real. If anyone breaks the law after being elected, throw their ass in jail. Better yet, take their heads. We could use a deterrent for opportunists.

I will also add that when you're the president, your actions tend to draw a little more scrutiny.

This scandal is only getting worse for Trump by the day. I'm not saying the Republican lead Congress will actually remove him from office, though it's not actually impossible at this point.

But in any case his campaign is probably going to suffer from all of this. Polls are already shifting among the public in the direction of impeachment.

And Ant.. you keep saying the thing about his taxes. Impeaching him is actually the most likely way to get that sort of information. There's no law saying he has to share his tax info so short of that, what are they really going to do except continue to ask to see them and get stone walled?

Dude, it's called precedent. Of all the issues they could have chosen to build an impeachment case around, they picked the absolute worst hill to die on. It's not like anyone has forgotten Fusion GPS either. They're as boneheaded as the people who think trading in one out of touch lying old man (Trump) for another (Biden) is somehow a massive improvement. At least Warren and others are gaining real steam now.

You're aware they can add articles of impeachment, right? That simply opening an inquiry and starting the proceedings gives them more leverage to demand access to evidence and/or testimony from those in the white house?

This scandal has legs because there's a pretty clear trail of evidence. It might very well end up implicating Biden in the process. Biden isn't president. Keep going.

Just giving you a heads up, because what I'm talking about is going to come up when all of this goes to trial in the Senate. Why do you think Barr is flying around following every dot going back to the start of the investigations into Trump? There's a lot of potential blowback here.

The best possible scenario would be if all of this ends up making it completely clear to all these asswipes that nobody can do opposition research of any kind with foreign governments, but that's probably too optimistic.

They "can" add them (and likely will), but he still going to win 2020 in a landslide unless they actually lead with a different issue. The American public isn't known for having the best attention span these days. We'll see how it all plays out.
