Not really. Functionally he sounds the same. He's just not shouting in front of a mob at a time when the political discourse is as cartoonishly polarized as it is now. I mean maybe if you assume that someone who sounds calmer is necessarily a better candidate like some plebe you'd like that better but he still talks just as much like a huckster. The huckster game was just different in the Clinton era.
