I don't necessarily think being offensive makes them funny, but if they get in the cross hairs for being offensive i will take their side. It's basically the same sentiment OH expressed.

That's not to say there's no line. Michael Richards definitely brought his downfall on himself. My line is just a bit more lenient than some other people's. In that way I'm really no different from anyone else.

You sound like a guy trying to put it in the most positive light in a magazine interview.
