So if I'm getting this right, you're saying that you agree with the scientific community that the climate change that we're witnessing is definitely caused by carbon emissions. However, because there are competing hypotheses regarding the source of the carbon emissions that sparked a climate change period around 50 million years ago, the source of any carbon emission including the ones contributing to modern climate change is simply unknowable. Right?

I believe in climate change and that manmade activities contribute to it. I just don't know if man is the main factor or if there are other things outside our purview that have contributed to this particular cycle.

I'm saying that even if every human being on Earth ceased industrial activity, you'd likely still see many of these same trends in 2020 because it has happened multiple times in the past without our presence. We're only a few big volcanic eruptions away at any given time from annihilation anyway. Are we entering one of those cycles? Are we not? That's the kind of data that would be nice to have.
