Well, I did come from a womb.

Are you a climate change denier?

No bull**** about the climate is always changing or any of that ****. Man made climate change global warming that’s a very serious problem - that’s what I’m asking

We're only a few big volcanic eruptions away at any given time from annihilation anyway. Are we entering one of those cycles? Are we not? That's the kind of data that would be nice to have.

Based on the volcanic activity, solar activity, and the current stage of the Milankovitch cycles, it would appear that we are not undergoing such cycles. Do you have any evidence of something that's not human activity creating this carbon that's influencing this rapid period of climate change? Or a more specific example of the data that you're looking for? Because we're emitting metric ****loads of carbon into the atmosphere and carbon doesn't just magically appear out of nowhere. "It could be something else that we're not recognizing" is very true, it's an integral component of science, but until you substantiate it with something more than that it doesn't do much to invalidate evidence of man-made climate change.

Ant, if we were to fit you for some kind of clothing, potentially gulag manacles, but of course we're not gonna do that, what size would you need? Just asking.

I believe in climate change and that manmade activities contribute to it. I just don't know if man is the main factor or if there are other things outside our purview that have contributed to this particular cycle.
ok

that’s a yes (as others have pointed out)

weird

"Manmade activity is accelerating the process by which we are heading into the volcanic cycle" appears to be the consensus of Nature, Scientific American, etc. The question right now is exactly how much. The "something else" that we don't know is what precipitates entering that cycle to begin with, because it isn't consistent with the current models. That's why I'm not denying that people have an impact on climate. They clearly do, especially the oceans.

Last night after I calmed down I had a simple and very obvious epiphany. This is something that I’m probably the only one here didn’t understand for a while. The coronavirus is just going to be another problem we could easily solve but won’t. I mean think about Syria and Yemen and everywhere else there’s chronic violence and terror. All those people would need stable lives. And virus or no virus they’ve ALWAYS needed homes and safety and sanitation. Our willingness to turn our backs on those who suffer will not change. It’s not an equalizer. Those who manufacture and sell weapons will continue to do so with our consent. We can’t solve this problem or any problem when the entire planet runs on manufacturing death and oppression. Weapons, private automobiles, plastic, alcohol, tobacco, hateful pornography, flags, absurdly expensive shoes, lithium, diamonds, fossil fuels, nuclear energy, palm oil, Big Macs, insulin...

For a moment there I had a belief that there was a disruption and if survived there might be a better existence on the other side. If your life isn’t worth living it only makes sense to support anything that ends the current social structure IF you can live through it. It was game over before the virus and it’s still game over. Of course, my life can get worse. Lonelier, more uncomfortable, scarier. A common enemy doesn’t matter because we’re too far gone.

IDK, as oppressed as I may or may not be, I'm grateful that I at least get some decent tunes to jam through it. Walk a mile to a **** hole job that hardly pays me with thousands upon thousands of songs in my pocket and blue tooth headphones. Kind of cool.

Lucem Ferre 03-24-2020 04:01 AM

I've always wanted to collect vinyl but sadly I am a broke bitch.

That's okay, though.

Only if you're a melodramatic self absorbed pussy, no offense.

Way way way way more worse times than this.

Black plague, WWII, witch trials and you think it's the worst because we have an idiot ******* president and a pandemic that canceled your concerts. Poor us, we have to isolate ourselves with access to pretty much any piece of art or information at our finger tips to occupy our time while our government fights over how to give us free money. We're such victims of circumstance.

I mean I've been sitting here looking at Virginia hem and haw trying not to do anything to disrupt capitalism cause a few million deaths isn't worth a dip in their stock portfolios and thinking "Yeah this is totally business as usual and the world still thinks I'm disposable." So you're not the only one.
