We live a lifestyle that is unsustainable. That means if we continue like this billions will die. Then if you offer a suggestion people disregard it like it’s ridiculous as if our actually reality isn’t. You hear “That’ll never work!” Well guess what? This **** isn’t working.

Our current political systems cannot take us another century as a species so clinging on to the status quo is infinitely more naive than embracing radical change.

I want that but I think it’s going to take crazy levels totalitarianism to get there. That’s why I do feel sympathy for Stalinism. That whole thing of I want more than I need and defending private property to the death. So many people would need to die first before it could work. Capitalist brains need to stop living on this planet. There’s probably no other way to get there.

I don’t need another history lesson on why Stalin bad either. He’s flawed but so far he’s the best example of the process.

If Trump could trade capitalism for communism he’d love it. It’s terrible but I’d give him the reins if he started straight sending all property owners to their deaths. He needs a scapegoat. Class divisions could work, too. Hitler was a Jew. What’s it matter if the greatest communist is a capitalist? Trotsky called Stalin a capitalist. Stalin was a capitalist but most of the people he killed deserved it.

In what world do you think an authoritarian gives power back to the people he's been killing?

If you can make actual socialism the new norm for a generation or two then maybe. But some time during that period I highly doubt everything doesn't go off track.

It’s a conundrum. Even so. Step one is killing property owners. Worry about step two after they’re dead.

Yeah that's how we ended up with a bunch of failed communist states and China. I don't know how Vietnam is doing tbh (I hear not bad) but I also don't know if they were ever as extreme as Russia or Cambodia.
