You’re back on that old fallback again?

I mean im trying to have a convo but they just say dumb****. So ill go back to saying dumb****.

This place is pretty boring when the only person worth having these kinds of discussions with is frown. At least when we disagree we can have a good back and fourth.

inb4 10 pages of back and forth over the false dichotomy between trying to improve your life and addressing how external influences have impacted your life.

Y'all remember when we did that every ****ing day for like three months straight? That sure was fun.

DwnWthVwls 05-08-2020 10:00 AM

Dont worries, im done. This was a good reminder of why people get trolled.

DwnWthVwls 05-08-2020 10:07 AM

Yeah, no ****. Thanks for pointing out the obvious and ignoring the larger point.

Calm down Philosophy 101. Just because you're not making the connections doesn't mean they're not there.

DwnWthVwls 05-08-2020 10:09 AM

The thing that I said does not conflict with that point.

Ethics can be measured objectively when you attach it to a expectation/goal, which is what we always do when discussing ethics, morality, etc..

The argument is always that X is or isnt ethical/moral because of Y subjective expectation/goal. When Ys usage is understood by all parties in the discussion you can absolutely make objective statements about Xs morality/ethics. The people dont even have to agree about each others view of Y, but they need to accept(for arguments sake) what the other people mean when they say Y.

Otherwise you end up with sitcom dilemmas where people are like, "did you hear?", and the other person is like "yes, omg!" but they are actually talking about two different things and then it leads to drama.

If x + 2 = 4, then x = 2

DWV: Well what you're not considering is that 2 + 2 = 4, because what you're saying doesn't make sense.
