I wonder if Marx would still say that if he knew we'd be here a century and a half later.

They say America has the oldest democracy still running. Interesting that it was the first country to become an existential threat to all of humanity.

From what I remember teasing this was actually am issue of contention in socialist parties in earlier days. Socialist parties in Europe that existed in more liberal and less repressive regimes were much more likely to want to work within the system and thus less radical. Ones that lived in more repressive regimes were more radical and unwilling to even entertain the idea of working with the government and more bent on revolution.

I think that's part of why the revolution never came in Western industrialized countries, only repressive backwaters like Russia, China etc. Despite the fact that Marx predicted it starting in countries more like France, Germany and England.

I wonder if MLK would have advocated non-violence if he could’ve seen a half century into the future.

do you want to see this portrait of Mao literally casting a vote

Do you have any after shots of people who campaigned against him?

Well duh. Just look at us debating over voting and not voting rather than burning or not burning. It's all wishy washy bull**** and we'll still be in the same place in a hundred years if SOMEONE doesn't start burning something. Oh wait, someone is burning something. And getting something done that the voters aren't.

Yeah see you are such a Chula. In ten years you're going to be busting a nut over the minutiae of some neoliberal centrist's campaign.
