He was a black democratic mayor of Tallahassee that was running for governorship in 2018.

There was a bunch of shady controversy that happened with his campaign and then most recently In 2022, he was indicted on 21 felony counts, including wire fraud, conspiracy, and making false statements, for allegedly diverting money raised during the campaign to a company controlled by one of his top advisors.

So yeah big time shady character.
