I found a problem in his language speaking about the disorder (and it is in fact Jordan Peterson so that's to be expected) but other than that this struck a lot of chords in me. DBT is "reported" to be helpful but I can attest that using mindfulness skills in my everyday life has already been beneficial, as well as recognizing problem behaviors and taking steps to realize the roots of the problem and mindfully act on them. Mindfulness is my favorite user.

To bring this thread back on track, I'm curious what your problem with him was, because I felt like that too but couldn't really pin it down. I think for me it is that his way of phrasing things sounds a little bit disrespectful sometimes

it's not that, it's that bpd is the "female" counterpart to the "male" antisocial personality disorder. because historically those diagnoses have been understood to be that way. but now bpd is being diagnosed more for all genders.

In other news I'm going back to work Monday. Was initially off for two weeks, ended up being out for two months. Did four back to back rounds of the crisis program lol. I've been really worried about returning because I'm going to have to make a decision about whether social work is actually going to be sustainable as a career. I love the work I do but **** it's triggering - and so I can choose to stay and just try to prepare myself for when things inevitably come up and learn to cope with them, or I can leave and figure out something else to pursue. I have no idea what else I would do. I'm attracted to all the high-burnout jobs. I am *this* close to opening an etsy store, like it's bad.
