Well then it's good that you're out of that environment. Now go collect unemployment and light a cigar with a twenty dollar bill.

I'm going with disability and I prefer a job. I don't want this one fumble to ruin every bit of progress that I made and stop me from where I was going.

I'm no expert but mother is on disability and she can't have a job and still get disability. Maybe there's different categories of disability but I don't know, dude.

Yeah, it's you have to prove you are uncapable of holding a job to go on disability. So if I get a job, I'll be pulled off. But I want to pursue a job regardless. I'm just afraid that I can't keep one and that this isn't just a situational thing.

And also she had to wait like a year just to get on disability and go to a bunch of specialists (that isn't free obvs) just to convince her hearing that she needed disability since it's way harder to do so if it isn't a physical disability. And apparently she was super lucky that her first hearing decided in her favor cause almost everyone loses their first hearing and then has to wait another year for another hearing. And all the while you can't have a job so if you can't live a year to two years with no job then you just are forced to get a job and give up on disability. I mean mother has been saving money her whole adult life for retirement and it's all gone now cause she had to burn through it while waiting on disability.

I know my dad is on disability and he got on it quick but he has a lawyer. The whole time he was working jobs on the side that he didn't pay taxes on.

My friend with narcolepsy told me it was real quick for him but I don't remember if he was denied benefits or if he just had a hard time getting his disability scholarship.

I'm sorry man :( it may be good to tell someone about it who is in a professional position to help you. I don't know how difficult you find it to talk about these things, but at least I'm glad you feel like you can vent here a little

A close friend is sometimes better than a professional..IF.. it is somebody that you can open up to about anything without feeling bothered or embarrassed. Some people have a natural gift to help others that way, not necessarily medically qualified just a caring thoughtful way.
