You're not basing that claim on anything. He may very well just not be violent by nature, the fact that someone isn't ending up in jail doesn't mean they got things under control

Well it's certainly been a night.

Keep in mind that we're still not directly involved but things escalated quickly and, to my surprise, in a scary way. Her cousin(P) apparently had been making some enemies as of late and shared some text messages with some people where they were basically threatening his life and his family. P responded to those texts with threats of violence and then shared screenshots of those texts with Dana. Dana then sent those texts to P's wife and she started the process of getting the police and the hospital informed because sh*t was obviously getting out of hand.

Now I don't know where P was tonight but apparently he came home to his house that he lives in, rent free at the expense of his (and Dana's aunt), and demanded a check for $10,000. He had already burned through $15,000 on unknown things in the last 48 hrs so she said she doesn't have the money and he flipped absolute sh*t and threatened to hurt her if she doesn't cough up the dough so she called the police and they arrived and escorted him to the hospital in an ambo.

I don't have much more in depth detail because we're not directly involved but it seems like his mania has manifested itself so bad that he's resorted to threats and violence to achieve his desires and goals...which is an extreme result of a sever case of psychotic induced mania.

Hopefully he's getting committed and not released because I don't know how much more that woman can take but the threat of violence was pretty apparent so I'd be shocked if they release him but the police gunna police sometimes.

As for the aunt. She means well but frankly thinks that if she just appeases his demands, that it'll get it out of his system and he'll snap out of it. It's delusional coddling parental psychology at its finest. P is only like this when he's psychotic which isn't often. Her handling of this is just as frustrating and anger inducing as his behavior but she's doing it out of fear/love/stupidity and it's hard to yell at a woman who has just been through literal hell.

That escalated in a bleak way. Honestly I'm just glad to hear he's not roaming around now, for everyone's safety

I stand by my position that she should cut him off but family is family. I do think rewarding negative behavior is a bad policy even if the person is manic. That’s not professional nor does it mean I don’t want the best for everyone involved.


I went to pharmacy finally to get my meds, timed with cupboards about bare and they didn’t have it. Said I waited too long. I was like hey man how long would it take you to go back there and put 30 pills in the bottle.

Monday.

Sigh.

I know I’m grown and can’t use my crazy as an excuse and I gotta man up and take my pills but I was NOT going to stop taking my pills. I was committed. Then they were just gone. Their **** up. Once I don’t take it it’s like my brain keeps telling me not to ****ing take them. I know I just gotta be a man about it. But I have to take them to be in the right headspace to take them. Otherwise my crazy just says don’t take them. I swear it. ****. Now I’m back to thinking super dark ass **** - it’s just ****ing frustrating. The old pharmacist would’ve just waited for me to get around to it but they got this new guy. I know the lady pharmacist for years. She knows all my history. Hooked me up with the community health. Now she’s not around. Idk wtf.

I know it’s ridiculous but it’s got me so upset it’s like got me in a crying spell. It’s just **** **** **** **** ****

There's nothing ridiculous about what you're feeling. Vicious cycles like that sound very natural to me, and it's a pretty common thing. It's on them for not being more understanding and not being able to adapt to it. Knowing how to deal with those struggles should be part of their work for ****s sake.
That being said, of course you should be brave, go get your meds, and take them. It just really sucks that they make it even harder for you than it could be. Hold on through the weekend, once you're medicated again you'll feel better.
