POTUS 46: What do you want/expect/hope for/fear?

Moments ago Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the USA, despite desperate, violent attempts by his now-predecessor to stop this happening. Trump will unlikely fade away; he'll be plotting away, seething in the cauldron of Mar-a-Lago, scheming to wreak his revenge.

But **** him. He's yesterday's news, something that will anger him more than anything else, and a fitting end.

Looking ahead, what do you hope to see for the new administration, or, conversely, what fears have you for the future?

I hope to see a real safety net for everyone. Real limits put on the brutality of capitalism. And a very serious environmental policy.

A proper national response to the COVID-19 epidemic, first and foremost. I don’t think Pres Biden is the man to initiate a real revamping of the infrastructure in the U.S. (which is desperately needed, imo) but something like a new New Deal would be something around which Americans could coalesce on a real level - not just some notion like the “angels of our better nature” after Trump.

Less separatism and more environmentalism.

I just don’t think they can continue to just give the vaccine to the states and the states to the counties without supervision. The federal government needs to provide resources, strategies to get it out, and allow for more flexibility than they’re used to giving but with immediate oversight. Obviously, we need people who are competent and trustworthy, two qualities that have been completely stripped from the federal government over the last four years. Fortunately, I think Biden is going to have a crack team starting right ****ing now. This Trump bull**** is over. Praise God!

I'm still waiting for Trump to be yesterday's news tbh. Tired of him being the center of attention.

Not expecting much from Biden. I guess we'll see.

Along these lines I don’t think the senate should waste time ****ing around with impeachment bull****. There’s a two year window with a legislative majority. They need to focus on real **** that actually helps people.

Let the states go after Trump. A Georgia state pen is worse than any federal **** anyway.

1. Contain Covid.
2. Police reform.
3. Tax the rich and stabilize this economy.

In that order

It’s Biden with the house and senate though. Watch me get my hopes up and then call for his head but right now I’m back in the stupid cycle of actually having hope.

Want to get the white grievance contingency to chill? Give them free dental.

Church to all of this. Would be surprised if any of it actually properly happened, but I'm optimistic that things will at least get somewhat better, especially regarding covid measures
