I should’ve paid more attention but there was all kinds of stuff going on back then. I knew what Olympia was about, kids who didn’t have pay their own rent and treated townies like **** and all dressed in a ****ing uniform, and they just weren’t pioneers. They were better than I realized at the time but they weren’t the most important thing going on and I had to pay for every record back then. I’m pretty sure I saw all those Riot Grrrl bands from that scene. I went to every punk rock show that came to town.

****ing Cop Shoot Cop was a standout show. The Dwarves blew the living **** out of every Riot Grrrl band put together in ten seconds of live performance. ****ing hip hop. Trip hop. There was more radical **** happening. Wilder shows.

And yeah... having actually been to Woodstock is better than having seen the movie Woodstock.

I’ve read volumes of people’s reactions and experiences with those early jazz guys live since seeing as I don’t have a time machine I understand that they did something I can never do.

That just shows you don't understand why Bikini Kill were pioneers. It's not about being the first women in punk, or having the wildest shows. You just happen not to care about what they were pioneering

That's just dishonest projection. I'm very comfortable with my relative musical ignorance here and you know it. But based on what you've posted about riot grrrl you are missing the point of it partly, so you don't fully understand.
