I've been watching a lot of Tik Tok's showing what's going on on the ground and it's terrifying. I need to stop reading all the headlines as I already have issues with anxiety and this just adds to it. But on the other hand I get anxiety if I don't know what's going on, all I can think about is China joining up with the Kremlin and it's all on. Can we try not to say 'Russia' as we don't know that Russian residents even want this. Putin is literally a war criminal.

Ukrainian grandparents was a pretty common thing for me (I witnessed the
first moon landing while staying there). Now, we have this crap going on.

Being American and Canadian or having Ukrainian ancestry is a negligible issue -
it's the full-on audacity and immensity of this - especially if something goes
"accidentally" wrong regarding possible activity in NATO member states and
how it will be dealt with. Putin had his sights on Central and Eastern Europe
back in December when those Russian treaties were presented.
Who's to say he won't go further?
Yeah I imagine Moldova is pretty wide-eyed right now.

Spoiler for bigass pic:

I think they've already declared a state of emergency and closed their airspace.

What a complicated history they have!

I'm fine here in Germany but worried about my family in Ukraine. My uncle, his wife and younger son live in Odessa and it looks like the Russians are advancing on the city. So far they seem fine though. Glad my older cousin is studying in Germany, he's 20 and would be conscripted. The younger is 14.
This is all very ****ed up. To be honest I thought that the talks about Putin preparing to attack during the last weeks were mostly the US warmongering. Not that I like Putin, or wouldn't expect him to be ****ty, just that the US has a bit of a history.
