I was hoping you'd throw down a little more in a "really think" thread.
Anywhoo

Right-Track
I think he was the other Withnail & I fan, so points there. He gave me my first infraction, so nostalgia points. No problems with him.

Urban Hatemonger
Like I've said before, takes stuff too seriously. He's a wealth of knowledge about music, unfortunately it's a lot of bad music. Except for a lot of the hip-hop. I always get confused between him, RT, Jackhammer, and Jayjamjah. So I might say something about one of them here and really mean one of the others.

Jack Hammer
Do-able, not date-able as far as posters go. I have no beef, but he doesn't entertain me. Seems to listen to some good jams.

Sleepy Jack
I feel what Veridical said about him. I personally like the kid. One of the few. But yeah, definitely argues for the sake of argument a ton.

TheBig3KilledMyRainDog
This guy is also fairly entertaining at times. I'm a fan.

Janszoon
I can't really think of anything to say about him, so he must be kind of bland? I don't really know the guy.

Toretorden
Should not be the mod of anything. Kind of like the yin to Sleepy's yang. He also argues for the sake of it, but usually is wrong about everything he says. Also, never entertaining.

Dreadnaught
Seems like a fairly genuine person. I wouldn't miss her if she disappeared though. Never really had a chat with her. Maybe I'll make an effort (but probably not)

Boo Boo
I like this kid, too. Also listens to a lot of bad music, but I don't hold it against him.

Coryallen2
yeeeeaaahh

Adidasss
One of my favorite people on here. Dude is one of the few smart people here that don't feel the need to flash it. Listens to some dope music, and is nice without being boring.

Captain Caveman
Get out of five years ago, your music

GuitarBizarre
Who?

Yukon Cornelius
I remember thinking he was a tool. Not sure why.

Savannah
Fuck you, Veridical. Sav is the definition of fiiiiine, and everyone here knows that. Aside from that, she's got an original sense of humor and she keeps it real on a message board of judging ass holes. Props to her. "I wouldn't fuck anyone that doesn't remind me of my dad"
Also, she gave me the idea to my grand adventure I'm going on in nine months.

333
I remember she's cute and seemed nice and sweet. Not much outside of that.

Vanilla
Basically what Veridical said. Also, she enjoys sex.

Mr. Dave
I think Veridical described that Wayfarer cat. Or at least I'm going to pretend he did cause I have no idea who mr dave is.

Veridical Fiction
I like chattin' with him. He's a brainwashed Army chode, but I wont hold it against him. I'm also not really sure what kind of music he's in to, which is kind of bad for a music forum.

The Unfan
Dude's a fucking riot.

Cardboard Adolecent
Smart. Probably a little ostentatious. Seems like a good person.

Kirby
Best hip-hop mind on here. I share a lot of tastes with him.

Brilliantly insightful and unerringly accurate.
Some great observations there VF...good stuff.

So long as this stays civil and some of the members mentioned don't start throwing toys out of prams it should be a fun thread.

Thanks, RT.
I'm always interested in hearing different opinions of people as a way to compare to my own. Not so much as validation, but more as an opportunity to witness diversity of opinion as it tends to provide me with information from those involved.

I know people are gonna want to close this. But I think it's a fine idea, a little honesty dosen't hurt as long as it doesn't get rowdy. So here goes.

Urban Hatemonger: Back in the day, I wasn't much of a fan of this guy, I used to think he was somewhat humorless and merely ranted about popular artists for the sake of being different. But my opinion of him has changed drastically over the years, now I know he's just being brutally honest and I can respect that even when I disagree with him. He's certainly one of our most witty members, he makes me laugh a lot. Plus he's probably gotten me into more music than anyone else on the forum.

Sleepy Jack: Our relationship is a very unusual one, most of the serious arguments I've had on MB has been with him. And yet I talk to him on a more regular basis than any other MB member. In general I think he's a nice, funny guy. But there are times when he annoys me greatly. I agree with VF in that he's extremely contrarian, I often feel like he picks arguments with people out of sheer boredom. And he can be the most anal in an argument, the most demanding of facts and sources, and fairness. And yet I think he contradicts that a lot with his own arguments. Of course people say the same thing about me. Maybe that's why we can get along even after all we've been through, because we have more in common than we want to admit. But even so, there's always been this kind of rivalry between us that will probably never go away, we have this serious habit of taunting each other.

He's probably my greatest polar opposite as far as our music tastes are concerned, we both love The Beatles and Radiohead. But that's basically it.

Jackhammer: Probably the nicest member of the forum. And probably has the most eclectic taste of any other MB member. He seems to be the most eager to share his music with others, which is of course a great thing. And it seems I can get along with him easier than anyone else even when we have a major disagreement.

TheBig3KilledMyRainDog: I think this guy is a little too cryptic for his own good, the way he phrases things is really hard to understand, and he also asks questions to the point of fustration. Plus, he also sounds annoyingly like a Rolling Stone music critic at times. I have noticed that he's cooled down a bit, he used to be a lot more irritable and unpredictable, and during those times we didn't get along very well. He still has some of that explosive temper left, but I'm kinda indifferent about him nowadays.

Janszoon: He can be pretty contrarian at times, but usually in a way that's friendly and acceptable. Overall a nice guy.

Toretorden: I don't have any serious problems with him except for one thing. He comes off to me as rather anal, almost robotic. I dunno, maybe it's just me. We like a lot of the same music however, and he's eager to get me involved with whatever prog related projects he comes up with, which I'm always happy to participate in. Plus the guy is so good at being a mod that I think he might have OCD or something.

Right-Track: It's funny, he's been here so damn long. And yet, and I don't want this to come off as mean. I still don't know very much about him. I just know he's very british, lol.

Seltzer: We share a lot of musical insterests, but I rarely get to learn a lot about him. He has a habit of disappearing and reappearing.

Adidasss: I find his personality to be quite similar to mine. Very opinionated, lenient but less likely to refrain from insults when he feels like people deserve it and maybe a bit of an ego problem. Almost every argument I've had with him has been very jovial in nature, so that's a quality about him I certainly like.

Lucifer Sam: I don't hate him (yet) but he annoys me pretty easly, my opinion of him is very much like the opinion I used to have of Urban. Only difference is I don't think it's gonna change in the future. We can get along at times, but his abrasive in your face style is at odds with my easy irritability. If anything, he's basically just a milder, more likable version of The Unfan.

The Unfan: Well since it's about being honest, I can't really think of anything positive to say about him whatsoever. I dislike his arrogant attitute, his taste in music and his neverending quest to get under my skin. His recent campaign to unmod me just seals the deal. It's best that we stay as far from each other as possible.

Captain Caveman: Of any other member, he can bring out the worst in me, I'll give him that. I'm still rather dumbfounded over why he is as popular and well liked as he is. Every post I've seen from him is a one or two sentence paragraph of inflamatory statements. I can't stand his attitude, his humor, the way he tries to justify his arrogant bullying tactics and listening to his LastFM was one of the most unpleasant experiences in my life.

Comus: There's a lot of things about this guy that bothers me. He has some eclectic taste in music I admit, he listens to a lot of obscure music, but because of this I feel he wears his taste as a badge of superiority. Every picture of the guy gives me that feeling, the one with the "Radiohead sucks" t shirt, and the one where he's sitting there with his guitar, and a rather satisfying grin on his face, as if he's thinking to himself "if they see this they'll know I'm a serious musician". I find his attitude very smug and unappealing, he's probably the last person I'd ever want to recommend a band too.

Mr Dave: I don't dislike him so much as the way he picks an argument, it's always like the first thing he does is remind you how much more about the subject he knows than you do. I guess it's because he's one of our older members and maybe it's not his fault. But even though he's quite intelligent and knowledgeable in a lot of the fields he debates in, I still feel like he condescends to me and others.

Vanilla: We don't get to talk to each other very often, but I feel she's unfairly picked on at times, and that I can clearly indentify with. We stick up for each other when the going gets tough. She might not be that subtle when it comes to reminding you how sexy she is. But since everyone (me included) has the hots for her, that's easly forgiven.

Thrice: Someone I get along with very well despite how different our tastes are. Has the most fascinating acid trip stories you'll ever hear, that's for sure. And we find a lot of things to talk about. Only thing about him that bothers me is that his posts are often incredibly brief. It's better to talk to him on AIM than on the forum.

JayJamJah: He's fine with me, can't be too harsh on my fellow Zephead. I certainly don't agree with him politically, and sometimes he'll nitpick over very trivial things. I wouldn't recommend anyone argue with this guy unless they have remarkable endurance skills.

Wayfarer: I've warmed up to him a little bit, in that he's not quite as abrasive and confrontational about his dislike of me as Unfan and Caveman are. I can at least approach him sometimes during an argument without fists flying.

Crash_Override: I wish we had more posters here like him, who have a greater appreciation for more technical music, but without being an elitist muso douchebag about it. He also has a talent for funny little witticisms.

Rainard Jalen: I nitpick over his comments almost like it's a hobby, though he doesn't seem to hold too much against me for it. I'm not a big fan of the way he describes things, it's like he tries too hard to be a music critic.

Piss Me Off: Of the indie guys, I get along with him surprisingly well. I don't think I've ever seen him in an argument with anyone ever. An overall friendly guy, and quite funny too.

Sweet_Nothing: All I know about the guy is that I have a serious problem of confusing him with Ethan at times. I don't have much of an opinion of him, but he seems to dislike me pretty strongly, considering he's one of the bigger indie fans, I can't say I blame him.

Yukon Cornelius: A bit too much of an over-analizer, though sometimes that means he can be insightful, he's not as intuitive as he thinks he is and he can really go beyond a posters comfort zone. His little incident with Vanilla for example. His rants about conformity and capitalism also come off as rather pretentious and annoying to me.

Veridical Fiction: Very analtyical, as the first post on this thread clearly shows. Mostly that's to his benefit, he can be really intuitive and insightful. He's funny too.

Cardboard Adolecent: Very smart, if a little pretentious. I'd advise any weak willed individual not to read this guys posts to avoid the possibility that their heads will explode.

FireinCairo: All I know is that he has a pretty bad habit of tearing down music I like. And I really don't get his sense of humor.

Molecules: Being a newbie, I don't know much about him quite yet. He's quite funny and a bit of a wordsmith.

Murder Junkie: You gotta love the guy, but 100 bucks says he's a registered sex offender.

Anteater: I don't know too much about him except that he's our second biggest Yes fan. We get along.

Satchmo: Another one of my fellow proggies, he's probably our best poster when it comes to hilarious and crafty oneliners.

Coryallen: Poor guy has dug himself to China by now.

Right-Track
One of the most honest straight up people you'll meet on here. It's a shame so few people here share his taste in music as I think he posts more in the mod forum than on the music forums these days.

Jackhammer
Lee is probably the person I can empathise with the most on here. Similar age (Although he is a few years older ) The roots of our taste in music comes from the same time & place although they seem to have spilt and grown in total opposite directions.
I also think he suffers from something I used to, in that as a mod he feels he has to reply to every thread , check out every compilation , regularly start threads on new bands that only a couple of people ever reply to for the good of the site. I tried to do all of this once and it made me feel bad tempered , frustrated and made me want to quit, and I know it's gotten him frustrated at times as well. Sometimes I just want to tell him to fuck the site & just have fun being himself.

Sleepy Jack
Didn't like him at the start and for a long time afterwards, when we became fellow mods we developed a mutual respect for each other. Sometimes I think he takes the whole political debate thing a bit too seriously, but then a lot of people his age do. Give him 10 years in a job he can't stand & a nagging wife and he'll soon be too jaded & tired to care what any political commentators think.

TheBig3KilledMyRainDog
I think he underestimates himself, I don't know what it is but he seems to make a lot of 'everybody's out to crucify me' posts and I just don't see where they are or what he's talking about. He's like a volcano that just suddenly erupts with no prior warning.
I like the guy a hell of a lot though.

Janszoon
In the short time i've known him i've grown to like him a lot. He's yet to lose the plot in a debate & go on a aggressive rampage.
I can't wait to see that one.

Toretorden
In a short time he's been a member this guy has done a hell of a lot of good for this site. I don't think people realise just how much this guy does behind the scenes. But there are times I would like to see him put all that on the back burner & just have a bit of fun. I get the impression he wants to form a barrier between mods & members for the sake of discipline on the site, which I disagree with.

Dreadnaught
I'll be honest, she wasn't my first choice to be a mod, but I was happy to go along with her when it became obvious some of the other mods wanted her to join us. And i'll say now that she is a mod she's doing a very good job of it too and I respect her greatly.
I don't really talk to her much , I don't really have anything in common with her either and barring a miracle I don't see us ever becoming friends. But saying that I hope she knows i'm always available to her should she ever need anything.

Boo Boo
I could write a 1,000,000 page thesis on Boo Boo.
I like him , even though I spend most of the time arguing with him. I think he's a bit highly strung and a bit too defensive about the stuff he likes. I think sometimes he's more worried about what other people think of his favourite bands than why he likes them himself.
I don't want to resort to clichés here but some (bald headed) female company in the bedroom really would do this guy the world of good.

Piss Me Off
It's really hard to dislike him, not that i've ever tried. Really easy going , always open to new things , He's like the perfect member. But then if every member was like him this place would be boring. That's not to say he is, I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more fire in him & a bit more acidity in his words.

Adidasss
Can't stand him , he knows this
I respect him , he knows this also

Captain Caveman
Random teen angst bot that somehow was hacked onto the site by some /b/ member to spout all their clichés.

Savannah
I feel as this girl comes from a totally different world from me. Do I like her? I have no idea. I don't think she has a very high opinion of me either. I think it's more down to being so different and having such different backgrounds than any malice on anyones part. I have no idea of some of the things she's talking about sometimes.

333
Great sense of humour always good for a laugh, I hope she sticks around.

Vanilla
I've known her for years, I talk to her away from the site a lot. If you think all she is is a Lady Gaga fangirl with a high opinion of herself then you're missing out on a really smart, caring person with a wicked sense of humour. I love this girl to bits.

Dac
I like Dac , even though I probably don't show it. I do my best not to slate the musical taste of others but in this case I have to.
I see a lot of potential in Dac, I think he has it in him to get to like & appreciate a whole world of music that he seems totally unaware even exists. i'd just love to drag him kicking & screaming out of his 'safe indie favourites' & Radiohead fanboyism and throw him head first into some bizarre obscure avant garde noise headfuck to really get his teeth into, and then just sit back see what happens.

Lucifer Sam
I didn't really like him much at first, he just seemed to be really gobby & opinionated and not really care what others thought.
Then I realised thats exactly how I am and these days i'm much more likely to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Nonsubmissivewife
She's a babe
I tried to Urbanize her when she first arrived, had no effect whatsoever & was like water off a ducks back. Always willing to listen to new things , always very complimentary to others , My respect for her grows on a daily basis.

ohkasey
Sweet as hell , funny as fuck
Nice cleavage too

Mirrorball95
Enough with the f*cking videos in every post

I might do some more people later.

I was bored of talking about the same old idiots that dominate this place so I decided to post some more of these.

Flower Child - I think she's one of the best noobs we've had in a while. I think her member journal is the best one the forum. she doesn't just write reviews, she writes why they're personal to her which is something i've tried to do with my own. for that reason I don't find her reviews as dry as maybe some others on the forum and more readable, and I guess because we have similar styles I can empathise with her better. Not only that she's also a pleasure to talk to and one of the most selfless members we have.

Kirby - I've hardly run into him as he posts mostly in the Hip Hop forums , in fact I don't think i've ever said a word to him. But for his knowledge and enthusiasm of his chosen subject he has my upmost respect.

Kevorkian Logic - I don't think i've spoken to her much either, which is a shame because i've always considered her posts essential reading. So I guess I could easily sum her up by saying I wish I knew her better and I wished she was here more often.

Comus - He reminds me of me a lot, in that he says what he thinks and he doesn't care who knows it. Some people can't handle that , some can. I wasn't sure how to take him at first but there's never been any doubt in my mind he knows his stuff. His recent stuff in the Beatles vs Stones thread has had me in hysterics.

Murder Junkie - This guy is great and it's a shame he doesn't come here as much as he used to. He deserves credit for being the most unpretentious man ever to set foot in this forum. When myself & him were at our peak every peice of totty on the forum wanted some of us

Patton - I've spoken to her a couple of times and i've always found her to be nice enough. I'm not so sure that her jumping into arguments when certain people are involved help her cause amongst others on the forum but hopefully she can put that behind her.

Fruitonica - Always has something interesting to say and I always have time for his posts. However I really think needs to do or say something memorable to stand out from the crowd.

Gone Sugaring - A girl who likes The Fall.

I'm still reeling from the shock.

JayJamJah - I think I probably like him more than he realises. I don't know if it's because he doesn't 'get' me or if i've been short with him or if it's just he doesn't think much to the way I am, I couldn't say. All I know is I find his posts very insightful and I think the forum is poorer for his absense.

FaSho - I thought he was a bit of a prick at first , and no doubt he thought I was one too. But i'm warming to him a lot.

Alfred - I had him down as a typical annoying teen when he first joined but I don't think I have ever been so wrong about someone. If I owned a hat i'd take it off to him.

Wolverinewolfweiselpigeon - I think we should make her the forum mascot.

You know in real life I don't seek confrontaion either and that's the same on here. I find pages and pages of endless bickering between members a complete waste of energy and at home I am the same. I rarely argue because things get said that get twisted out of shape ESPECIALLY on a forum where the time between posts and other interjecting leads to a strangulated conversation. That's why I try and keep the peace.

On the outside world I am probably a lot more elitist than I am on here and because I listen to pretty much anything I do think that my opinion is always right. Of course it isn't but then we all have our failings.

Booboo

His knowledge of Prog is superlative and he said things about his own personal life that have been brutally honest and I have massive respect for that and my perception of him raised a lot. I do wish he would open up more musically but then I am like that with everyone! His modding skills are getting better and he is becoming more assertive.

dreadnaught

I have never conversed with her on any major level but she seems very level headed and easy to get on with. Maybe need to show a little more presence on the site sometimes I.E posting etc. I am sure she could write an interesting journal.

Janszoon

We are very alike in many ways and his music tastes are one of my favourites on here due to eclecticism and knowledge. I always do feel that there is a caged animal waiting to get out of him though. sometimes his posts have a caustic quality and I would actually like to see more of that because he seems a very intelligent guy.

Piss Me Off

He's my adopted son what more can I say? Excellent music tastes again. Fierce intelligence without needing to throw it around the site. All round good egg and I have plenty of time for the man.

Right-Track

Blessed with a typical Northern sense of humour, David was the first person I came into contact with on MB and personally I know him a little more than a couple of the other mods and like him a lot. One of the most efficient mods but damn he is a lazy poster and wish he would post more regarding music.

Seltzer

Once again I can't think of a nicer guy. He is nowhere near prolific enough on the boards but he knows his stuff and does his job very well.

Sleep Jack

I have spoken with Ethan many times and he comes across as someone utterly frustrated with life and that spills over onto MB. He has a rare intelligence and is outspoken sometimes to the point of arrogance however he is not arrogant by nature at all and he is quite a sensitive young man and I do have a lot of time for him. There is a lot more to him than what comes across on MB and it's certainly in the positive.

Thebig3killedmyraindog

I honestly don't know where he comes from sometimes. He has such a left of centre view on things but that is so refreshing. His journals are always a fantastic read (horrendous spelling aside) and I don't think he is quite so anal about music as most of the mods which is a good thing as he thinks outside the box. I have never really conversed with him much at all but he has attitude and I like that.

Toretorden

First off-his command of English is better than many posters on here so kudos to that. Deadly efficient almost to the point of it becoming a negative. I do think he should lighten up and get in on the humour side of MB but the guy is fantastically intelligent and a really nice friendly guy.

Urban Hatemonger

Some people don't get Urban and his posting style replete with endless swearing and ripping into people. I do though. I know excatly where he is coming from with his posts and he ALWAYS can back himself up if things get heated. Ridiculously knowledgeable about music and so the elitism that sneaks into the odd post here and there is fine by me. I think we would get on like a house on fire if we met.

Members to follow

Adidasss
Considering Adidasss's first languange is not English it's even more remarkable that his command of the English language is vastly superior to many on here! I don't like a lot of what he listen to or his film tastes but I like the Bitch. He can be very cutting when he's on it and talks a good fight. The occasional forays into the metal forum aside I always like what he posts whether it's interesting to me or not. Well written posts are always well written posts.

Pobody's Nerfect

Relative newcomer to the board and has already shown great tastes and the willingness to share with others. Can't believe how bad Devin Townsend was though after his big up in his journal

Wayfarer
He has pissed a few people off but I know him from a year or two ago when he was much more regular and when he stopped being a clown ( I still remeber that awful porno pic he kept posting that I had to keep deleting!) he had some good stuff to say. kinda sporadic now though.

Alfred
Are you even 14 yet? I know he was 13 when he joined and if he keeps up with his willingness to listen to recommendations then in 20 years he will be quite frankly awesome in both knowledge and tastes. A great kid I have to say.

Fasho
A goofball when he first arrived but has settled down nicely and posts well.

She uses MB more as a social tool than a music forum but that's cool. We all know she's a pretty woman but she has insecurities I feel which do get misconstrued on here. Not a bad bone in her body though and a fun loving young woman and why not eh?

She has recently returned from a long hiatus and I wasn't around when she was here then so I can only go on what I read now and apart from being an obviously horny little thing she is very sweet and she has that typical antipodean humour that we Brits love. Has brought a lot of sparkle to the forum since rejoining.

More to come

A few newbies:

Kayleigh. Young and I hope she doesn't mind me saying that her music tastes are very commercial and obvious but she has hung around with a smile on her face and seems like a very cool girl to hang around with. No hidden agendas, just a nice girl all around.

Aww Sugar. An enigma musically but a good natured girl who could be a great assett to the forums in years to come.

Number9dream. She has dreadlocks and loves Pink Floyd so that is win all around as far as I'm concerned. Odd views on people getting bullets in the head but hey ho!

Rickenbacker. Burst onto MB with effervescense with a sound musical upbringing but lately has drifted into elitism and egotism. Pack it in and talk music again!

Storymilo. Another young un but has the potential to becoma another Alfred which is a compliment.

Freebase Dali. I may have mentioned him before (if I did apologies!). I have a love/hate relationship with him. He has an abundance of intelligence and loves to delve into people psyche's; however an online persona is not always indicative of the whole person my friend! (although I'm doing that now )
