I certainly agree with this. I never have heard before that this thread is exempt from the rules. Everyone else has been infracted for insults so why should mods not be accountable for what they say? You can't make a new rule up without consulting the mod team first.

I've said my piece here. It's late now; I'll come back in the morning to see what else has been thrashed out.

But before I go…

Freebase Dali: Despite all this, I still like the guy a hell of a lot. Good writer and debater, and it'd be nice if he posted more.

Until tomorrow…

I'm pretty much done with this as well, and any more replies will probably not be responded to as if you've read my journal, i'm going on a bit of a break from the forum. Get the juices flowing again and allow my journal to be stronger than ever. For now, peace.

Interesting reply. Not an answer to my question though. Maybe you need more time to mull it over.

Hehe, I did just put them on. I wear them most of the time but sometimes my eyes get bad through medication I take so even with them I'm blind. Other times I'm okay if I don't wear them. It's laziness I guess. Glasses are hot! I've dated many guys with glasses.

Stop being sneaky.

Your question was whether I could be a dick in only this thread. I basically told you that it's the only thread where it's technically allowed. If you're asking me whether I'm a dick elsewhere, be a little more direct. Otherwise, you really need to focus your inquiry.

To answer the question about whether I'm a dick elsewhere, yea, possibly. But if your entire point is to say I'm a dick, you're kind of not saying much both I, and everyone else, doesn't already know.

Did you want some other sort of answer?

Edit:

I'm going to bed. I'll deal with you tomorrow.

You need to work on your offensive humour because I usually like offensive humour. Or not, no skin off my ass.

However far your age is from 20.

Anyway, I was just trying to alleviate a pointless discussion by trying to make some people cry. Especially mordwyr. I feel kind of bad for what I said about him now.

you'll have to be more specific for me to really take it to heart tbh. if it's just too offensive then yea watering it down would basically defeat the entire purpose for me.

Frownland 12-28-2014 10:39 PM

My recommendation would be to make it funny instead.

John Wilkes Booth 12-28-2014 10:41 PM

yea still too vague to take it to heart.

You're generally not funny. Work on that. You can be offensive and funny at the same time.

Oh you wanted me to insult you? I was just giving advice.

John Wilkes Booth 12-28-2014 10:45 PM

lol you're just giving ****ty advice cause saying "be funny" is about as useful as saying "be smart"

DwnWthVwls 12-28-2014 10:51 PM

I think what he's trying to say is that you're not funny. You should work on that. That's why your co-workers hate you. Yeh, I went there. :pimp:

I'll work on giving advice thanks.

John Wilkes Booth 12-28-2014 10:54 PM

yea but i usually make one of my coworkers laugh at the other's expense. they hate me cause i'm too arrogant about it tbh. and i really don't mind criticism but if you keep it intentionally vague i can only assume you're just afraid of what i might say back to you.

Frownland 12-28-2014 10:56 PM

It was really just a one off post to alleviate the pointless discussion taking place, I didn't really mean to start another one.

John Wilkes Booth 12-28-2014 10:57 PM

this is why i sometimes think i really shouldnt post here. you guys seem to hate this kind of **** and it's honestly the only thing that keeps me halfway interested.

DwnWthVwls 12-28-2014 11:02 PM

I'll bicker with you all day if it doesn't piss off anyone else. I'll even insult you.

John Wilkes Booth 12-28-2014 11:05 PM

lol i would honestly enjoy that but i get the feeling most people here wanna get along instead. sometimes this forum feels like a cult or something (no offense roxy(no offense neapolitan))

DwnWthVwls 12-28-2014 11:07 PM

O they didn't send you the stamps to lick yet? Guess they don't like you enough. Stick around, maybe one day if your lucky.

Frownland 12-28-2014 11:08 PM

He brought his own stamp and we were out.

Overcast 12-28-2014 11:13 PM

When approaching this argument without a bias FD is in the right. The threads intent is to express unfiltered opinions on members. To establish rules that prohibit that would completely defeat the point. I would completely agree with FD's side if it wasn't for being so condescending in mocking people who are more sensitive.

Not everybody has your thick skin, and you're right, they shouldn't be in the thread in the first place if they cannot take it. This thread is obviously not just used for shitting on people at this point, though. Mild banter or even positive remarks are common from what I've seen. It has multiple uses then, yes? Maybe a new thread should be made for the mild banter and occasional positive remarks for sharing member opinions, and this thread can be purely for shitting on people with no remorse (which is apparently cathartic, not my cup of tea though.)

I personally think it's better to be mindful that this thread has strayed from its original intent and to not include members who do not want the more extreme side of the negative opinions you have to offer. Some people are just the way they are and it's better to accept that and respect it then take away a thread that may serve a use to someone who enjoys the aspects other than the original intent. This thread seems more laid back than a cathartic shitting session to me and the laid back aspect serves value in existing just as much as cathartic shitting on people. People who want both or one of the other should use their brains to come to an understanding on what is okay and what is not and proceed from there. If you don't agree with each other on what is okay that's perfectly fine. If you continue to shit on someone who has expressed hurt towards the shitting then you're just being a dickwad.

There's nothing wrong with someone who doesn't take negative criticism well. I don't. Yes, they could not read it, but what's the point in even writing something about somebody if they're not gonna read it anyways? Chances are they will since, as I said, this thread isn't just used for shitting on people. You don't need to censor the thread to a certain overall standard, just avoid involving people in this thread in the way it was intended to be used who don't wish to be involved. 9 times out of 10 (a statistic I pulled out of my ass) someone is gonna see it as an insult more than constructive or lighthearted, and if they do then avoid including this person and move on. That isn't censoring your thread. You made your opinion known and the person didn't like it and you've come to a solution. That is a better solution than mocking people who don't meet your standards for an appropriate reaction to a remark that may be lighthearted to you but overly offensive to them. This thread is asking for drama no matter what unless you meet half way and coexist among both the shitting and the dick-sucking.

That's just my opinion, though.

TL;DR: Shitting.
I also probably repeated myself a bunch but I guess that helps solidify my point within your brain.

LiL: Cool person, fun in plug, but holds a sort of pointless grudge against mordwyr for no apparent reason.

Overcast: Has pretty good taste but needs to either listen to music less often or stop pretending he listens to as much add he says. Seriously, his last list of albums he listened to in a day was way more than 24 hours.

Pet_Sounds: Canadian.

WhateverDude: Put up with me playing an absurd 10-minute song in plug, so it's safe to say we're friends.

It was the "albums you lent your ear to today" thread, I assumed that means it didn't have to be full album listens. In that case, no, I only listened to about 10 actual full albums that day. I do listen to music too much but I've been taking it easy the last couple of days now.

Isbjørn 12-29-2014 02:37 AM

Hey, Freebase, if you want to use your opportunity to be a dick in this thread and keep a heated argument going for 20 pages, go ahead, but as Pet_Sounds said, I don't see why you couldn't just have taken it in PM. Sorry if this is no longer relevant.

I have no earthly idea.

@Bat

He wanted it. I think it's still personable to stick your hand in the ******* of some creeper while he jerks it on a toilet seat. Fuzzy, the memory is. Take me (entirely) seriously you (should) not.
