A few of mine. Comus Thoug hhis namesake is probably the only band we have in common, I love reading his posts, and is always good for a laugh at someone else's expense. Alfred My first friend when I joined. Like he said, we used to have very similar tastes, and he's one of the nicest guys on here. Brad Stengel Personal Jesus. Jackhammer What's not to love about him? He'll even post in your thread about an unknown band you just found. Extrememly good-spirited, but could whip my ass if I crossed him. sleepy jack we agree on nothing, and have had to have argumentative posts deleted towards each other before, but I still think he's awesome. :shycouch: lucifer_sam We joined at about the same time, and I liked him from the start. Definatley has some of the best taste on the entire forum. More later. Bout time I do a few more. dac: We constantly butt heads, but it's always in good fun. A great guy who got me into Sigur Ros...and radiohead. [B]WWWP:B] Exchanged albums many times, she has pretty great taste. Admittedly had an e-crush for a little bit back in the day. Sonace: Always liked the guy, but can't remember whether he stopped posting for awhile or just didn't say anything interesting for awhile. He's back on track now. ProggyMan: We've never agreed on anything, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't really like me too much. I have to give him cred though, because he introduced me to Aesop Rock. Surell: Been chill since day one, we agree on pretty much everything hip-hop and he's always good for a laugh. sidewinder: as soon as mirrorball joined I always got confused who was who. I've really grown to this guy though, and has some of the best taste on the boards. Stu: One of my favorite posters. Has something insightful to say about everything. boo boo: hi sposts are always a good read, and he's another one of my favorite posters, thoug hI think we have no common favorite artists. khfreek: One of the few members I've talked to outside of MB, a bit of prick but really fun to talk to. More later... |
This is what I did at work today
I found it easier to address you all individually. So I took that approach. I would like to make clear I have no idea what any of you are really like and feel far from qualified to make a reasonable assessment of your character, but that didn't stop me from trying.
Adidasss – You’ve always been one of my favorite people to speak with or hear your perspective. We come from such different backgrounds and live in such different worlds and yet I’ve always had a genuine trust of you, like with many folks on here, our limited interaction is just a symptom of what would we ever talk about. Alfred – Have we meet? You were never a problem when I was a Moderator. [b]Anteater[b] – You seem to know your stuff and have a good way of making your case without being harsh or close minded. This is a perspective from the outside looking in as we’ve had limited interaction. Anticipation – When I was a moderator I consistently found you showing little or no respect to other members and while there seemed to be an element of sarcasm and joking sometimes, there was also a bitterness and a clear lack of consideration. It is for this reason I really don’t ever respond to or even read your posts, I don’t pretend to actually know what you are like though. Bane of your Existence – Not sure we’ve ever talked, I know I’ve read most of your posts in the current events\religion\philosophy forum and you do a pretty good job expressing your point saliently but I can’t say I’ve got any handle on your or your general personality at all. Boo Boo – Where do I begin, the one person on the sight I genuinely would like to befriend but who has no interest in it. Not sure why but we’ve always clashed, but I certainly respect your opinions and have tried to convey as much even when I disagree. I think you’re Smart, way to easily set off and have the most music knowledge (relevant to me anyway) on the site. Brad Stengel – I quit posting shortly after you arrived and am just now getting a sense for you. I like your members journal. Bulldog – Since you’ve been a member you have consistently made threads and posts I enjoy reading and have treated me very considerately and seem to extend the same gratitude towards others. Loved your Costello thread even more because of how much our favorite of his music we clash on. Captain Caveman – I’ve never been fond of the way your treat other people on here or the lack of respect you show for differing opinions. Some have told me, it’s an act and you are just messing with people, if this is the case I don’t get the joke. I certainly have not gotten to know you and that is the reason I probably never tried. It’s nothing to do with your opinion or it’s credibility but the way you present it and yourself. Cardboard Adolescent – You are on a different level then me, I often times can’t follow your posts or your logic, but when I can I really admire the way you think. I think a lot of your conclusions or suspicions are a bit pessimistic but there is no doubt you have a different angle on things and that’s something I greatly relate to and appreciate. Comus – I had a totally different image of you when you had the Comus avatar and all I read was your members journal. Getting to talk with you on here I’ve come to find you to be the type of person to go out of your way to be polite. I appreciate that but it makes me uncomfortable. I like when people disagree and take exception to my opinions. You like a whole lot of music and know more about the music of my era then I do, your reviews and continuity threads are some of the best here. Dac – Just a really nice guy in my opinion. I enjoy talking sports with you though you really love your teams a lot more then you realize. You are a good fan that’s for sure. Double-X – I like your taste in music, w probably have little if anything else in common. Dreadnaught – I have a daughter just a bit older then you and if someone my age from an online forum knew a lot about her I would be pretty uncomfortable with that. Our lack of interaction, from my perspective anyway is simply a consequence of that dynamic. It’s certainly not out of a lack of respect, I’ve found you to be an excellent mod, much better then I was for sure and you have a great sense of humour from what I’ve gathered as well. Jackhammer – You are the heart of the site, probably would serve you well to back of a bit, but I don’t think you know any other way. Feel like I’ve gotten to know you as well as almost anyone in my time here. Very open minded musically and frustrated to no end that everyone else isn’t. My guess is you’re a very good friend and father in the real world and that’s as nice a thing as I’ll say about anyone on here. Janszoon – You seem like an ideal choice for moderator. I think your are among the most well natured, humble and even thinking people in this community. Thanks for your contributions. Khfreek – You’ve always struck me as open minded and thoughtful, in both sense of the later. I wish I’d see more of you in the lounge as I think our musical tastes are a bit apart. Loose lips sink ships – You have a reputation for being nice in a orum filled with a-holes. That says it all. Lucifer Sam – You’re a pain in the ass like most people you’re age, especially the thoughtful\smart ones, overall I’ve always been fond of your sarcasm and abruptness. However there are times where I think your quick trigger makes you look a little immature and foolish. Molecules – Haven’t seen you around much lately, I remember being impressed with your musical knowledge and the manner of presentation and thinking you’d be a really strong member for this community. |
After Lunch
ProggyMan – You have a very broad range of interests and introductory knowledge of a hosts of subjects. You got a bad rap in my opinion because you were so young when you started posting here and had a hard time fitting in initially. I appreciate your opinions very much and you’ve handled yourself very well in the discussions and debates we’ve had, I appreciate you adjusting and backing up your opinions better t makes it easier for me to see your side.
Rezz – You’ve always been very nice and I think you brought some things to this forum it was missing in terms of your musical interests. I have no idea how old you are, what your background is or anything but I am starting to get the feeling we are a lot different. Right-Track – Oozes sincerity, an admiral trait and one that is rarely conveyed through a impersonal median. I lament your absence in the music and political\philosophical forums and would love it if you shared some of your perspectives and opinions on a more frequent basis. Roygbiv - You might have the best presented reviews on the site, and they are excellent reads more often then not to boot, even to someone as ignorant of some of your topics as me. Not sure we’ve talked much if at all directly. SATCHMO – Largely flew under the radar for me here which is too bad because you’re one of the few people close to my age. You’ve always been gracious towards me and I appreciate that, here’s to hoping we have something worth talking about one day. Savannah – I often wonder what the hell you’re doing on this forum. Every run in I’ve had with you has been pleasant and you have a good sense of humour about your self and life in general which is endearing. I’m positive you like the attention your photos clearly get you as evidenced by this thread and can only surmise that’s why you’re stilling popping in every now and then. Seltzer – You’ve been correctly pegged by other in this thread as someone we could use a bit more of. I find you likable, but really don’t know that much about you. Sleepy Jack – Where to begin…Frustrated with you right now, starting to think you argue to try and win an argument instead of to share and discuss ideas. Its arrogance typical of young men your age and when mixed with intelligence and a little social awkwardness\anxiety it can be an explosive combination. When you’re into it, you’re the best young contributor the forum has and it should be noted for all the combativeness and aggression you are for the most part a really nice person, or at least have been and seem like one to me. Sonace – I’ve noticed a lot more of your posts lately and before long will probably have an opinion of you. Sweet Nothing – Your okay in my book, don’t know a thing about you though. The Unfan – Not sure what to make of you. I don’t appreciate how often you butt into conversations simply to tear someone down or try to make a point that no objective person would care about, however you also have some really interesting things to say on occasion and a sharp wit as far as I can tell. TheBigThreKilledMyRainDog – You are my favorite person to read on here. You are a very good writer and though I inevitably sometimes find you subject matter dry you’re perspective is always captivating. I think you are the “smartest” person here in the sense that more then anyone else you are about sharing and considering ideas. I can’t speak to your intelligence anymore then anyone else here, but I feel outmatched a lot with you and a few others. Looking forward to the Cake Discography. Toretordon – An absolute workhorse; you’ve done wonders for the site in terms of the organizational and informational projects you spearheaded. I haven’t seen a rude or inconsiderate post from you yet and your reviews are among those I read every time. Not sure how much we have in common or how much we’ll talk, but I appreciate your contributions to the site greatly. Urban Hatemonger – I don’t like you, don’t dislike you either, we are two people from two different worlds. I imagine you feel much the same way. You are one of my favorite MB members because as Veridical Fiction pointed out you unexplainably intimidate people that have never met you via the internet. Maybe’s it’s the screen name, the sites best in my opinion, Regardless it’s fascinating and endlessly entertaining. I also think you do a great job helping the site. Veridical Fiction – Your are so hit and miss for me. You’ll say something very funny, then something very stupid. However the more I see of you around here the more I realize how good your thought out posts are and just how well you relate your opinions. I think you’re a little stubborn but I come across that way to because of how adamantly I like to argue my points until my mind is changed. I love this thread too, seeing the various perceptions of the same people is very eye opening and enlightening. Wayfarer – Always liked you, really haven’t talked to you or even been in the same thread since I took my last hiatus though. zzz – You went out of your way to be kind to me, that was unnecessary but appreciated. I remember vaguely some fuss about you when I was modding, but that's about all else. |

Unless, of course, he jumps at his free agent status, then you guys are screwed  Great thread idea so far, aside from the banter that went on earlier. Interesting to see what people thought about other members (some I could totally agree on, others not so much). I haven't been around enough as of late to deduce an opinion from people's posting styles yet, but I'll be looking at it |

Boo Boo
I'll admit I think of Boo Boo as a little vindictive and I've been a bit weary about that. I was slightly worried I'd end up on his bad side when I had to work with him and Comus on some prog stuff, but I think it worked out. Their "rivalry" is well known to most :D Actually, I think he seems more level headed now than he did some time ago. I do think he's guilty of wearing his taste and knowledge about music as a badge or e-peen extender on the forums sometimes (something he's accused others for in this thread), but we like some of the same stuff and I don't really mind too much. I'm hoping my relationship with him in the future will be productive even if not very warm and friendly. I think he sees the value of working together for the good of the forums and so do I, so .. who knows, maybe that's enough basis for a future friendship. Comus Wow, what a guy. There's a duality about Comus and I think a lot of people don't see it. At the core, he's a loveable guy - funny, friendly, productive, seems fond of life and is a big contributor to the site. On the other hand, he's strongly opinionated and got a bit of a troll in him (he's norwegian after all) and he often thrives on other people's reactions to his trolling. I don't mind it really, I think he's a blast on the forums and outside it .. and those who think of him as just a troll can just check out the amount of good reviews and threads he's written on this site. He contributes way more than the average member and, statistically speaking, probably more than you do. His presence adds colour to the forum and he is the best guy to discuss music with here! Jackhammer I think Jackhammer is a sensitive guy with real heart. He has real concern and care for others which I think is admirable. Sometimes he radiates parenthood, more so than any other on here I think. However, I think he relies a bit much on his ability to judge others in his dealings with them - and occasionally, he does misjudge. However, he has good instincts for a lot of stuff and that coupled with experience makes him a good source for occasional advice and wisdom. JH is also one of the big, big contributors to the site and MB would be a much poorer place without him. He's worth his weight in gold around here. Also a good partner for the occasional drunken banter and I love his taste in 80s metal. Iron Maiden!! Yarr! :D Right-Track Right-Track impresses me. He commands more respect than most members here and it's not just because he's a moderator. He seems to know just how to handle any situation - wether it be with dry wit or harsh punishment - and because of that has a confidence in what he does that I'm sure far surpasses that of my own. He's also takes initiative and pushes quite a bit behind the scene where I think he's much more noticeable. Watching him and Lee joke back and forth with their english humour sometimes makes me wish I was a brit. Top guy and I hope I get to know him better with time! Sorry, I know this is just a few people, but I gotta get back to my studies. I'll post more later. ;) Okay, time to do a few more! Anteater - Friendly, smart Anty is another great guy on this forum! He certainly knows his prog and he always has something new to recommend me which I greatly appreciate :D He makes a point of trying to add something to musicbanter by reviewing obscure stuff that he think will interest people and I wish his journal got a little more attention because it's one of the most exciting threads around this place. Anty is also good for the odd philosophical debate in which we usually defend different points of view, but still both manage to get something out of which I love. One of my favourite guys on here, although he's not as active as he should be .. And I miss the chats with him and Comus. Sorry for breaking your av, mate! :( Urban Hatemonger - Another one of the mods who demands and deserves respect around here. Like RT, he's very confident and the fact that part of being a moderator is sometimes to make unpopular decisions doesn't phase him. Also, his sharp, witty and slightly cynical style makes him rather funny .. Despite his quick and just punishment of trolls, he's quite charming with the ladies. Some of these qualities makes for a slightly strange mix, so overall positive qualities aside, I also think he's slightly mysterious. ;) Bulldog - Bulldog is one of the guys I think I can relate to on the forum. He's level headed, friendly, excellent poster and his positive personae adds a lot to the forum. He also seems a little subtle, I think he tends to stay away from discussions or arguments if he only has negative stuff to say. This may put him in the background a bit .. until you meet one of his threads because he's one of the sites most productive reviewers and contributors with several excellent threads and many, many excellent posts to his name. I hope we can find more overlaps in our musical interests in the future because I'd very much like to get to know him better. His threads are just the kind of stuff I wanted to find when I first signed up here. Demonoid - Another great guy and one of the first to leave a comment in my journal too. He was rather helpful as well and offered me help with some music I was looking for when I first joined. I know he's into RIO and Space Rock and I got a lot of tips from him - like Hidria Spacefolk and Kingston Wall. I think he may be gone these days which is really sad because I'd like to get to know him better and I think he would appreciate the new prog & psych forum. Come back man! Coryallen2 - Troubled kid with his heart in the right place. He's a good guy, but I think his ADHD, young age and perhaps other qualities and circumstances make him an annoying poster on here. Moderating him is like beating a puppy for peeing on the carpet .. puppies learn quicker than cory, though, making him quite the handful - even if he's only got the best interests for the site in mind. I hope you're not offended cory! You can come to me with your tick related questions any time. :) Molecules - Witty, friendly and fun guy who's presence brought a breath of life to the forums. Where did he go? I, like so many others here, miss him and hope he will return soon! |
so,....i'm just gonna throw this out there and see where it sticks,...not that it matters
jackhammer is partly correct, i do use this largely in a social aspect,...i started here at MB to pick up new music, and still do from time to time, though my musical tastes as a whole are vastly different than the majority here in that processes i've made a few friends, as satch pointed out, and continue visitin to see what they have to say,......and to see what raindog argues from week to week,.... so,...thats pretty much my mo while i sometimes pay attention to new and interesting posters, poboy as an example, i pretty much 'hear' everything as it goes in one ear and out the other and sure,....what girl doesnt like to hear they are pretty,.....right? that,.....AND jkm |
Just wrote something on the first peeps that came to mind...
Urban – He was the very first person to ever send me a PM here, and the very first person to add me as a friend on last.fm. Our musical tastes are extremely different, but I still have always loved reading his “Top 100” threads (that he rarely finishes!). He’s always been super helpful and a sweetheart…completely witty and hilarious also. I kinda feel like he’s my slightly older brother who lives far far away…we don’t talk much, but if I ever got in a scrap he’d be there to kick someone’s ass. Jackhammer –He’s a veritable music gold mine, always helpful and tries to be accepting of everyone. He wants everyone to love his music as much as he does and sometimes they simply don’t, but I hope that doesn’t stop him from posting new stuff, because he contributes so much to this site and it would be a damn shame if he burned out. Personally, as we’ve chatted, he’s grown to be a great friend and confidante, always supportive and never judgmental, but still straight forward. I don’t know what I (or MB) would do without him. We’ll always have Fat Freddy’s Drop…:) Savannah – My homegirl,….we’ve got to go drinkin’ sometime,….I always enjoy reading her posts,….even though sometimes I have to re-read them 3 times,…..lol,…despite what many seem to think of her,… she’s obviously a deep thinking person who likes to have her fun too,… :p: Janszoon – This guy cracks me up. He has such an awesome sense of humor and I’m constantly laughing out loud when I read his posts. I also appreciate how he’s not argumentative and somehow always manages to speak his part in a debate without being obnoxious or defensive or condescending. He just seems so laid back and chill…like he’d be a great person to kick back and have a drink and a chat with. Toretorden – I haven’t talked to Tore much at all. Lots of people of thrown around the term “robot” to describe him, but I just don’t think that’s very fair. He’s definitely analytical, which I guess comes with having a scientific mind, but it’s also apparent that he’s compassionate, moral, fair, and maybe even a little self-conscious, but always self-confident as well. Definitely one of the brightest minds here and he has great taste in music too! Molecules – Mollie…where are you buddy? It’s obvious a lot of people here miss his witticisms and off-kilter personality. He really brightens up the place and it’s kind of gray without him around. :( Yukon Cornelius – I know he can be spastic and a lot of his posts seem incoherent…but I’ve had the chance to chat with him via PM and he’s not a bad guy at all. He adores his family and has been through some hard times (not unlike many of us on here). He’s a lot more mellow when you get him out of the threads and chatting one on one. Boo boo – At first he seemed abrasive and judgmental to me and actually a little intimidating. But now he seems like a pretty lovable guy, if not a tad bit sensitive though admittedly I haven't had the chance to really get to know him. I admire how he puts himself out there personally, and I can’t say I’d ever have the guts to do the same. He seems to be well-versed in the music that he really enjoys…but I just don’t see how you could like Michael Jackson better than Prince. :P Dreadnaught – I’ve also not had the chance to get to know her, but just from reading her posts and watching her moderator skills, it’s obvious that she’s beautiful inside and out and has crackin’ taste in music. I would have tried to befriend her in highschool. Adidasss – Ahhhhh….adidasss. Sometimes he is the smokin’ hot, inaccessible gay guy that woman are always complaining about (“Why are the hot ones always either gay or married?”)…and sometimes he’s the lazy, pot headed guy that women are always complaining about. Sometimes he makes me wince with his brutal honesty, but he also amuses me with the way he analyzes my user name and uses obscure smilies that no one else can find. I also appreciate that when it comes to music, he likes what he likes and the rest of you can go f*ck off. Pobody’s Nerfect – He should pursue a career in marketing me thinks. He knows how to promote the music he loves and wants to share. He makes you want to love it as much as he does, without being pushy or annoying. And who doesn’t like getting free music anyway? It’s because of him that I’ve taken a shine to live band hip hop and dark, broody jazz music. I wish we had more people on this site like him. Whatsitoosit – I’m glad he came back and started posting again…but I wish he’d post other places besides the Christianity thread and the Michael Jackson thread. I liked him from the start though…funny and easy going. And his beard is hot. (Please tell me you still have it…). Wolfwolverinelady – You’s a crazy, quirky chick. I wish you and Sweets would get your thread back going again, because it not only introduced me to some fantastic music, but was sooo funny. Almost all of your posts are full of comedic win. You’re awesome. Alfred – For being so young, he can certainly hold his own and is more articulate than most of the adults on this site (myself included). He never ceases to impress. And I have fun picking on him in the monthly compilation threads. ;) |

Ok well it's high-time I do one of these. I'll start with mods.
Right-Track: By far the most respected MB mod. Very knowledgeable about all things he posts about and always handles problems with style. Urban Hatemonger: Very few people can make me laugh with 1 and 2 word posts like this guy can. Very knowledgeable about what seems like everything. Has good humor but wields the ban-hammer whenever necessary. Boo Boo: Awesome guy, very easy to banter with. Great taste in prog, arguably the best prog mind on musicbanter (Comus sonsidered). This guy takes alot of smack from alot of people and always responds with class. I think that says alot about his character. Piss Me Off: Haven't heard much from him as of late, normally posts interesting stuff. The MB Hall of Fame is a great thread. Sleepy Jack: Well what can I say? Alot of people don't like this guy. I'm nuetral on him myself. No real feelings to speak of at all. None of his posts have ever had an effect on me at all. Jackhammer: Love JH, far and away my favorite mod. excellent taste in music and very knowledgeable about several genres of music. Also not as abrasive as other mods and handles situations with the upmost of class. Janszoon: Great mod, you can hardly tell that he's new at it. Jumped right in to the position when selected. Very imformative poster. Drednaught: Just recently discovered Drednaught is a female. Which, I'm not going to lie, came as a surprise to me. She is from Indiana which is cool because I'm originally from there. Don't see many post from her and am rarely hanging in the same threads. Big3: By far the most abrasive mod. This guy jumps up in arms at the first sign of a disagreement, which can certainly be entertaining from time to time. Still very knowledgeable about his music and know the facts. Also VERY opinionated and frequently posts long paragraphs on political issues. Tore: Awesome album reviewer. One of my personal favorites to read. Great poster and very knowledgeable. Seltzer: The most forgettable mod IMO. I always forget about this guy. Only because we share different tastes and are rarely in the same thread. Good poster and likes alot of weird music. Pobodys_Nerfect: Cool guy, great addition to MB. Always posts in a variety of threads and always has something interesting to say. Kevorkian Logic: I didn't know she was a she for the longest time. Good poster, don't see her around that often but when I do I'm not disappointed. Molecules: Great album reviewer. Haven't seen him around much lately though. Patton: Don't know whats up with the name change. But seems pretty cool and she lives in Hugh Jackmans pants... which is interesting. Roygbiv: Very nice person, polar opposite of CAPTAIN CAVEMAN. We need someone like him around here other wise things might get ugly. Enjoy his posts. Savannah: Does she even listen to music? I don't think anyone cares. She contributes so much to discussion in the lounge and seems to be a great person. Her pictures are always a pleasent surprise too. lucifer_sam: Well, I guess he would be the king of one line sarcastic posts. Rarely do I see this guy post much longer than a couple lines. Likes to keep it short and sweet. Has good taste but seems to put people down sometimes in effort to make a joke. I'm not a fan of that. Sure can be funny though. Veridical Fiction: Great guy, ex-military. Good tastes and always posting good stuff. Antonio: Good guy, great addition to the Rock/Metal forum. Surrel: Resident hip-hop loving funnt guy. Whats not to like? 333: Seems like a really cool chick with great tastes. Plus I copied your post so thanks for that. Thats about it for now. |
I've always liked: ethan, lee, david, marijan, scotty, kevorkian, thrice, and satch. I really don't understand the intense mac (captain caveman) hate, but maybe that's because I've seen him make a coherent post more than once.
Currently I like: swim, bardonodude, tyrannodude, cult classic, alliteration, rubber, crash override, wayfarer, cardboard adolescent, and all the dudes who keep the emo/hardcore forum going. Also anyone who isn't a consistent asshole and posts stuff that is actually genuine, such as bulldog and others like him. I really miss: the dave, zealious, all nite dinah, iamalejo, dirt mcgirt and fenix. Those guys were sick and made me want to contribute and be an active part of the forum. Ever since I changed from gemtleman johnny, it seems as though I've dropped off the face off the earth. The rapid expansion of mb membership coupled with my frequent hiatuses has left me wondering who the fuck most of you are, and my interest hasn't been piqued enough to pursue any sort of dialogue with these second and third generations of mb. I know I probably don't come to mind when people think of seminal members, but I'm coming up on four years and I think that's rad. Basically, all the descriptions of me being a lesser, not as witty version of cap'n caveman are half true, whereas I don't often venture outside the emo/hardcore forum to berate the rest of you but still find time to make inane observations when someone makes a stupid comment. |
Right-Track
The Ernest Hemingway of the boards. RT has always been a voice of reason, and even in times of absolute debauchery he's never told me to go **** myself, which I have to imagine has crossed his mind once or twice. Urban Hatemonger One of my favorites, he's a Brit but he reminds me of the Brooklyn guys. There is no gray area, it is what it is and it usually takes him 3 words to say what others can't in three posts. As a younger man I'm sure he'd have pissed me off, but I've come far enough to know not many will be this honest with you. And its appreciated. Jack HammerI've honestly never had much interaction with the guy, and I'm sorry it took this thread to realize that but I guess I should PM him... sorry man. Sleepy Jack For all we brawl, I like Ethan. I feel like he uses the site as his own god damned litter box sometimes, but we've all had on down moments. The faceless boy wonder has been around long enough, and has locked horns enough with me that I can say he's earned my respect. Churchill once said, I like a man who can grin when he fights. Ethan just likes fights, and terrible singer-songwriters Janszoon Apparently we had it out once, but I don't recall, and I'm bias toward anyone from the motherland. He's been off my radar recently and that's probably my fault, but one of my favorite guys on here. Toretorden I love this guy mostly because I think he's pushing the rock uphill. For those who havn't planned things with him, he'll suggest this very logical, strait forward, intelligent plan to us, and 90% of the time we respond with "those *******s will never go for that." he's more patient than most here, and he's worked harder to get things done than any new mod I've seen. Dreadnaught DT reminds me of a new school Black tshirt. Cept American. She's often eloquent in her brevity, and I'd agree with Verdical (sp?) thats shes one of the more attractive members of the board. Expect big things. Boo Boo Boobs takes quite a bit of heat here, and occasionally from me, but you have to respect a guy who stands up for what he believes in and don't follow along (like many do here) with what he thinks everyone else is going to say. Once awhile back, he thought I hated him because of a dispute on Stings Bass playing skill. That should sum up our relationship, huge brawl over something I'm sure neither of us actually care about. His knowledge of things is unparalleled and the whole "use Yes lines in every post" thing was a friggen riot. The "I'm just a starship trooper, I go floating on by" had me killing myself. Coryallen2 Just needs to chill out, is posting a lot because he's bored and if he imposed a 5 min limit on himself people writing something and posting it, I'm sure he'd be a lot better off. Someone get this kid a video game addiciton to MMO's so he can burn off the time. Adidasss One of the things that distresses me on these forums is that this kid wants me to get terminal brain cancer tomorrow. I like the old man and look forward to his insight but its tough to swallow since he's gunning for my jugular in any thread we both happen to be in. I read what he wrote about me here, and he's either got the wrong impression somehow or he's just using it for more ammunition. In the end, he's been one of the members whos attempted to make these boards a better place. As Stephen Colbert would say: Formidable Opponent. Captain Caveman Hysterical. Never makes a real post to save his life and I wish he would so the grumpy mods wouldn't delete everything he writes. GuitarBizarre The one run-in I had with the guy was him bashing savannah on behalf of his girlfriend. Needless to say, I'm no fan. Yukon Cornelius Had a real turn around. I'm not sure how I feel which is a marked change from when he was a pain in the ass. Savannah While the rest of the forums we're likly taping her picture to their ceilings, I was actually drawn to Savannah because she was directly attacked once in an aggressive, unwarrented, senseless fashion and her response was "yeah well opinions vary" or something to that effect. I PM'd her then and told her I wished more people could handle things like she does. I'd prefer it if I could do it do, but I'm genetically disposed to be a furious, paranoid grump. Also, her accents hot. 333 Rolls with the punches like no newbie has in awhile. I see too little of her, and I'm not happy about it. Vanilla An oldie that stayed away too long. i'm glad she's back. I swear the women on these boards are more level headed than the most normal of guys. Again, I guess I'm supposed to comment on how hot she is but its not my thing. Mr. Dave Don't know him too well but as I recall I liked his responses despite not remembering what they were. Seltzer A fellow mod I never speak to often. The mod cave is all math and no fashion, so aside from us hashing things out, I don't know him very well. JJJ Whats bad to say about a guy who agrees with you? If I had drinking buddies, he'd remind me of one of my drinking buddies. The Unfan Pretty funny but tries to be a **** all to often. Is what it is. Lucifer Sam Use to hate this guy, not in an angry way, but I just had no use for him. These days I think he's insightful, and probably one of the more shrew posters. He never steps into a quagmire, I should probably follow his example. Cardboard Adolescent Might have Beckett for his avatar, but it should be Spok (sp?) Satchmo Its hard to write about nice guys, and this is no exception. However, his Jazz thread has been the cleansing boat from Valhalla these soulless forum needed. Molecules Of all the guys I've fought with, no ones been more grounded in reasonable thought. We took a battle to PM's and now we're BFF. Well alright not BFF but we're cool, and if theres anything I really like on these boards its when bitter enemies become friends. Veridical Fiction Don't know much about him, but I've only seen good things. See Satchmo Sweet_Nothing Seems stuck in his ways. I never see too much exploration on his part but maybe he's not on my forum circuit. Piss Me Off Nice Guy. Raging Drunk. Amazing Thread Game Starter. I'll edit more in later. |
There's a lot of females on this forum, and yet I never really get to talk to any of them.
I can't even talk to girls on the internet. :( One thing I notice about the gals here is that they are far less abrasive and defensive about their tastes, a lot more laid back than the guys. Very refreshing, the other forum I used to go to was a total sausagefest, and mainly because it was full of sexist douchebags who would say things like "tits or GTFO" everytime a female member joined. |
No sense in people getting all asshurt about their internet persona
I got called a convicted sex-offender for Christ's sake I'll have everyone know right now that I have NEVER been convicted BTW in a nutshell : R-T: Class dude Boo-Boo: Always a great read, I admire his conviction Jackhammer: See R-T Adidass: Probably the person I most enjoy on here, maybe a hint of a H.E.C (homo e-crush), seems a real stand up dude and while I was gone I think he was the person I missed the most. Seems he genuinely cares about everyone that posts here Sleepy Jack: Always liked him cuz his opinion is the loudest, say what you want he's still unforgettable Big3: Probably the person that I would most enjoy sharing a beer with two straws with, interesting to a fault Cardboard: Probably wouldn't have much in common with him but I would never interrupt him cuz he usually says something interesting Urban: Sarcasm like a razorblade and sharp as a tack, look forward to every post and now the ladies Savannah: Like a transformer she is more than meets the eye: passionate, smart, seems to have a genuine lust for life. Makes the whole sexy package more than skin deep Vanilla: FOX!!! also a really fun poster, seems to be in the top five of the people having the most fun around here 333: Never spoken to her but saw her pic in the gallery, I'd hit it like it owed me money |
I'm gonna forget a few but...
Right-Track Great at his job and a nice guy to boot, but I never see much from him musically. Urban Hatemonger Hated him at first, but warmed up to him quite a bit once I realized he's pretty cool and knows a hell of a lot more than me. Jack Hammer Class act. Made me feel welcome right from the start. Always good for a recommendation, and just a really nice guy. Sleepy Jack He can be immature at times, but after a while you realize that he's usually right in just about all of the arguments that he gets in. Janszoon Introduced me to The Church, who I'll be seeing in less that a month :D Toretorden Born to be a mod. Everything you look for out of one of your forum leaders. Dreadnaught Sexy and smart. Boo Boo Not sure. Part of me says he's too safe when it comes to music, but then he always proves me wrong. Coryallen2 From the same hometown as me. He's the first person to really make me ashamed to be from Lorain haha. Adidasss Cool dude. I don't know how anyone can be anti-homosexual after talking with this guy. Captain Caveman Makes me lol. Hard. Savannah I'd hit it, for sure. With that said though, I think she's an attention whore. Seltzer I hate him. He thinks my Radiohead obsession is unhealthy! I'm kidding of course. Seltzer is awesome, and great in the post rock and experimental departments. Plus he's an engineer which is an automatic +10 cool points. Big3 Has that bad boy reputation of the forum, but I haven't had a big run in with him, so I don't mind him.. JJJ Was good, but went awol for a while. Glad he's back. Avid sports fan too, which is a plus. Lucifer Sam One of my favorite members. Great for music recommendations and knowledge, and I've been able to talk school with him here and there which is pretty cool. Sweet_Nothing My dude. My first I guess you could say "friend" on the forum. Cool guy, and some great taste. Piss Me Off Best avatar. FaSho, Alfred, khfreek, These guys are like what? 14 or 15? Amazing tastes and maturity for their ages. Brad Stengel Underrated as hell. Great poster. Stu Probably my favorite poster, music wise. Proggy Man Great tastes, and wonderful to talk sports with, especially for his age. Wolverineblahblah Funny girl, with good taste. Comus Thinks I hate him. I don't. He can just be really (REALLY) elitist at times, and he makes it really hard to figure out if he's joking or not. I've gotten a lot of good albums from him, and that's more than enough in my book. Loose Lips Lives up to his title of Nicest Member, and has some fantastic, eclectic taste. Anteater If I ever want to hear a super obscure prog album, I know who to go to. I'm sure I forgot a few, so I'll get to them as I remember them.[/QUOTE] |

Anyway, I know Im relatively new to this forum & I havent actually spoke with every poster yet but Ill give it my best shot. Jackhammer- First guy I spoke to on this forum, really sound guy, laid back & generous. I also thought he was in his late 20s! 37??? Right Track- I like his style, firm but fair. Hes probably the fairest of all the mods when at the same time being the most firm. He also likes Cast too, which is always a winner in my book! Urban Hatemonger- I hated him at first (I remember thinking 'what a stupid f*cking avatar'), but have come to respect him & realised that he is a pretty sound guy. Also, a lot of his posts I have read have made me laugh. I am also facsinated with his obsession with The Fall, as I do not know anybody else who is (or didnt ever think anybody would be) obsessed with The Fall. A good guy, but cross him & he takes no prisoners. Tortetorden- This guy is the Musicbanter handyman. If you ever have any problems, this is the guy to speak to. (sorry if this causes your inbox to overload :D) When I first came on here & didnt know how to do certain things such as the last fm & other stuff, I simply sent him a message & he was more than happy to help. Janszoon- Have only spoke with briefly a few times, could have been arguments. Hates Phish for some reason but Im not that big on them anyway so dont mind him. Just seems a pretty unusual band to hate. Sleepy Jack- I dont want to say that i hate any MB member, but this guy kind of gets on my nerves. Will maybe come to terms with him in time. Boo Boo- This is perhaps the most entertaining of all MB members. I have mixed feelings about this member, for instance at the start I argued with him, thought 'he' was a girl, then argued some more, then found out about King Crimson & more of Yes through him which made me kind of appreciate this member more. Its kind of a continous cycle of arguing and the occasional agreement. Antonio- Probably the most similar MB member to me in terms of taste. This guy has cracking taste & has just about the same taste in music as me. Also whats better is the bands/artists Ive recommended so far to him, he has liked. The best part being that he likes the Mirrorball album which really made my day. Comus- Similar to Booboo, I find myself arguing with him and then recentley he introduced me & provided me with the Bodkin album, which i thoroughly enjoyed. To be honest (like Booboo) , I used to hate him at first but have come to appreciate him over time. Fasho- Perhaps I'm being premature here in saying that i dont like him. Its probably just because Im jealous that when i looked at his Last Fm I didnt recognise 90% of the artists he had in his top list. Also he is the same age as my younger brother, enough said. Stone Birds- Another poster I have yet to argue with (which is a rarity), I was very impressed with the maturity of his band 'Stone Birds' & oppose anyone who say they are sh*t. Very good for his age and shows a lot of potential. Sonace- Billy Gibbons is a massive ZZ Top fan. :D I also like him. One thing Ive noticed whilst doing this list is that I have been in an argument with just about every single poster Ive come across, which I suppose is a bad sign & could be why some people have been saying I am a troll or whatever. It's hard to explain, when I see a post that pisses me off I feel compelled to reply to it and let them know just how pissed off I am. In truth, I dont really hate anyone on this, if theres anything I dislike its just their opinions. Anyway, Ive probably missed some people out along the way, sorry if I have its either that ive not spoken to you enough yet to remember you/you were too boring for me to remember you, or that ive just simply forgotten. :D |

Wowie-zowie, I sure got a lot more mentions that I expected, especially considering the fact that I don't have a whole lot of contact with the majority of you, though I'm always up for making new friends. :thumb:
But let me see then- Right-Track: Really amiable and cool based on some of his posts I've noticed, he was also the first mod I came into contact with after joining MusicBanter, even doing me the favor up re-sizing an avatar request even when I hadn't made more than two or three posts. Anyone who does that is pretty swell in my book, so kudos. :D Urban Hatemonger: Wizened with his age and experience and a very interesting individual overall, Urban was also one of the first people I really noticed after I joined. His posts made me laugh a lot, plus I really admired the fact that more than anyone else he seemed really close to the music he grew up with, and it showed every time he commented on a band or song. He's a hell of a mod too, plus I admire his bouts of impatience when it comes to dealing with people who spam and annoy the hell out of the rest of us. Jackhammer: If there was ever a mod I'd describe as truly personable, it would be Jackhammer. His level of diversity in music taste is refreshing to the point where I really can't see somebody not having something to talk about with him in a conversation here, not to mention how open he is to listening to new stuff. I agree with others in that if anyone embodies the soul of what MB is supposed to be, it's Lee. Toretorden: One of my best mates here on MB, and if he is some kind of robot, he's one with a heart of gold. An exceptionally active fellow when it comes to listening to music, and we always have something to talk about when it comes to it. Not to mention the fact he does a damn good job at modding and making an effort to remain respectful even when most people wouldn't. I also admire his scientific background quite a bit. Comus: Hellva great guy and the first real friend I made after joining MB. His reviews are beastly and the fact that he doesn't compromise in an argument is very admirable from my point of view. We talk a lot and usually find something to laugh about often; if there was a real reason for me to stick around, he's probably it. Now if only he'd get his radio show back, lol! xD Demonoid: Dude, quit vanishing, you're awesome!! Sleepy Jack: Ethan, unlike the majority of people I didn't and still don't dislike you. You are opinionated and you seek out arguments and I respect all that. I've seen few here that match your wit or insight, and the fact you don't act conceited is admirable. You remind me of some of my own friends in real life actually, lol. Boo Boo: Great mod and someone I get along with pretty well. Even if I don't like VDGG, haha!! Janszoon: A snappy feller who makes very informative & interesting posts; I should probably be asking you for more music recommendations. xD Terrible Lizard: Now this guy deserves a mention. Seriously man, you really should interact with more people here directly, because I feel you have a lot to offer MB. Your posts are hella funny, you listen to more kinds of music than anyone else on this whole ****in' site and you aren't even 17 yet. Socialize fool!!! :bonkhead: Dreadnaught: Although her beauty is captivating, we haven't gotten to interact much. Will probably attempt to remedy that in the future though. ;) Captain Caveman: The most foul-mouthed vermin to ever stalk our digital halls or the genius messiah who will change the world forever? Only time will tell. Molecules: Insightful posts coupled with great taste in music is a dangerous combination, haha. One of the main people I tend to notice in threads, and we've gotten along swimmingly so far. Cardboard Adolescent: His posts amaze me in the sheer scope of their significance (in reference to various philosophical discussion threads). It's a real shame half the people who respond to you have no real clue what you're talking about, because you deserve better. |
Antonio- I'll give him some love. <3 (No homo)
Mirrorball- He is very very swell. Boo Boo- Awesome guy. One of the most laid back mods out there. Roygbiv- Basically the person who I talk to the most on here. He's really awesome. Has a pretty nifty username also. Anteater- Hmmmm. You're a good person on the inside.(I hope) Right-Track- What is the story behind the username man? You're really cool. You atleast put up with kids on the internet. (No i'm not theo nly annoying bugger on the internet.) Toretorden- You gave me 5 or 6 infractions for double posting. You did it with a good heart though. I forgive you. LOL. Tore is really cool. Very smart. I call him with all of my tick bite questions. I think of the great things that google images gives to me when I type Boo Boo. JayJamJah- He brings a little banana out of us all. He is located at the end of the earth which would be somewhere in Iraq. Used to be a moderator. Am I right? Seems pretty cool. Never talked to him before. Sonace- You gave me a visitor message that said you were not a twat. I said nah you're alright. SO TIM! You're a really cool guy. I like ya. You can post you're twat messages on my wall anytime. |
Sorry for the triple post, but I better do this now while I'm good and drunk, and generally unable to think technically.
(Edit: Thank you, nameless moderator, for integrating my other post) A couple more people bubbled back up from my subconscious, and I have some opinions about them: (Begin scanning for your name... now) Antonio Haven't gotten to talk about anything serious with him, but he agrees with a lot of stuff I say so that's generally an ego booster and I'm usually compelled to reciprocate. He's also got some jokes and nails down some funny replies. He's a genuinely nice guy from what I can tell. I also hear he makes his own music. I'm always down for a musical clown. wolverinewolfweiselpigeon Aside from having the longest and most complicated user-name I've ever come across on the entire anything, she's got a way that kinda brightens your day. I don't know too much about her, but she comes off as an uppity, smiling person that takes things lightly and doesn't have a problem raising someone's spirits even when she doesn't feel all that fantastic. She has a good sense of humor and shining personality. Pretty, intelligent, a bit in the clouds but not so much that she doesn't see the details below. Overall a pleasant person to talk to. Wayfarer Don't know much about this guy at ALL, but I've recently volleyed some text with him and he's good for some laughs. I'd seen him debating in the "serious" forum and was misled by his general tone, but outside of those debates, he seems like a cool guy. Dac Never really explored that guy. Doesn't seem we have much in common at first glance, but I do notice when he's hilarious in threads. Proggyman Ya know, I always just brush this kid off because he just seems like one of your kid nephews in terms of whatever, but I've been catching on to his intelligence. I'm thinking I might bump him up to little cousin. Alfred I always thought that guy was at least 17 or 18. Saw him post a pic of himself at what looked to be 13 or so, figured it was a nostalgic thing. Yea, I was wrong. Way to make everyone feel bad for talking adult(ly) around you, Alf. Poor thing hasn't barely hit puberty yet. Makes you feel so wrong. Like going to an Ez Bake Oven forum and giving out recipes for special brownies. JamJayJah I really don't know. He kinda blends in with a statistically normal e-personality around here. Either he doesn't have enough Emeril in him, or I'm just not paying enough attention. Might be my fault though, I didn't even know he existed until a week ago. Patton aka MissMurder Instigator to the max. But she's witty, and looks exactly the same in every photo, which is predictably comfortable. No one has to worry about her popping up in the member's photo gallery with a bald head and no cleavage (much to BooBoo's dismay). It feels like she's only interested when there's an argument to be had and that she gets off on discord.. as though it's an opportunity to prove herself to everyone. I'm not sure if she's insecure, but some of the things she says leads me to believe it. But other than that, she's um... she's very pretty. Not in a classical sense, but she gets the job done. Surell I don't need to say much. He knows he rocks. He's like Master Shake to my Frylock. Utterly dissimilar, yet necessary as a juxtaposition. Ok... more later. My buzz is wearing off. Peas. Neapolitan: I honestly don't even know how to assimilate your existence logically in my perceptive capacity. You are truly the most sideways idea in the form of an intelligent being that I have ever come across on the internet. Most of us put you in either a TROLL role, or an IGNORANT role... But what I think, is that you're a combination of both, and yet, neither at the same time. You aren't even yourself long enough for a definite opinion to be made about you. You form no habits, yet everything you do is a habit. You say something, but what you say means so little that one finds himself wondering if it actually meant something. Enigma is the only word I can use to describe you. I have a feeling that you will never show anyone your picture, nor tell them your age, because you actually like this state of being. That's fine. Do your thing. But never expect to have any real communication with anyone. Jackhammer: He's bald. |

Were all a bunch of opinionated taste freaks who like the opportunity to type things out to edit and polish our thoughts, so we don't stutter or mess up like we do when we speak. Some of us like to talk ****, start arguments... on the internet!! ??? and most of us really, really, really like music... really. Not a bad crew, if you really think about it. God bless us! Every one!:D

I'd like to come in and renounce my earlier, deleted statement. Alfred is one cool guy, I don't think I've ever seen him get nasteh on here, and he's a year younger than me. But I've got me the arrested development disease, so yaaaah.
Other people I know you want my opinion on: Sleepy Jack: I thought he was a riot when I got here. He's lost a bit of that luster with me, but he's still a pretty cool user. I haven't seen him in a minute though. Veridical: We clashed when he got off the boat, but we're big homies now, runnin these streets with the back of our hands. Alejo: I feel like when he debates, he can be a bit cocky, but I can admire that; he's passionate about what he's saying. He's alright though. Sweet Nothing: I think I annoy him sometimes (though that's common), but he's pretty cool. I can't remember any threads I saw him in outside of the Radiohead one, I'm not sure who's fault that is. (;D) Savannah: Does she go on the music board any? Cool anyway. Gives me some funny quotes. JayJJJJJJJJ: He's wise from the mean streets and harsh travels. Love the banana look. Urban: He keeps it sooooo real. So real. Jackhammer: Cool mod, I don't see him clash with people often either, and he seems to do cool stuff for orphans on here. Or something. Roygbiv: I ain't seen that boy in a minute. We never did that podcast radio show. But he was a cool guy when he was on here. MrDavey: I just know he does some cool Radiohead reviews. Kirby: Another cool guy, even if he goes into the Lil Wayne thread just to down my day. Knows a lot about Hip Hop, and is a juggalo. What a freak. I'ma get some more in lataah. |

Oh, hell. I'm going for it. In no specific order: Blue: Upon meeting this guy, I thought he was overly-sensitive and too wordy. He hasn't been around much, but after a few good PM exchanges, I've grown to miss him. Though I'm unsure of how our musical tastes will collide, he's one of the first I got to know on here. I think he's a lot of time misunderstood and dislike because he stands be what he believes, but that's what I dig about him the most. Pobodys_Nerfect: I love his taste in music, and not so much because we've much in common (musically), but more so because of how ecstatic he is about the music he loves. He is unique in not only musical taste but personality as well. One of my favorite posters. Kevorkian Logic: Our taste in music are very similar and we live only a few hours away from each other. For this, I believe she'll be the first, in not only MB member I'll meet. I enjoy her pictures almost as much as I look forward to her intelligent and witty posts. toretorden: He's one of the few members and the only moderator that makes me feel uneasy. Not that I dislike him, but a debate we had (I believe it was in the Legalization of Marijuana thread) left a sour taste in my mouth. At first, I thought it was because we disagreed with each other, but now I'm just not sure. I still keep my mind open with him and try not to let my negative feelings impact any potential posts we may exchange. TheBig3KilledMyRainDog: I enjoy most of what this member has to say and love that he can be a **** sometimes. I'm not too familiar with his taste in music, nor have I exchange many posts with him. On that note, to be continued. Molecules: We briefly brushed by each other with intros last month, but haven't spoke to each other very much since. Perhaps I've missed the Ween thread, but he's the only member I know of who likes them, too. I look forward to more contact with this guy. Patton: I dug her a lot at first for her appreciation for Mike Patton. Since then, I've been kind of annoyed by it. I think she knows this, though. I still look out for her posts from time to time. sleepyjack: So, I watched this fellow for awhile before I dare quoted him. He came off as feisty to me, but I've learned to pick up on his wicked sense of humor and I love it. Though I sense he loves to debate and know that most people dislike him for this, I fuckin' dig it. Roygbiv: Another warm welcomer. He and I seemed to hit it off pretty well right off the bat and I enjoy his posts very much - especially the Colour-Coded Album Reviews, but it's possible that the pretty colors keep me distracted for quite a long time. ;) I always look forward to what he has to say musically. Savannah: I'm not too familiar with her musical interests and that bothers me quite a bit because this is a music forum. Her wit and humor ALMOST ;) makes up for her lack of contribution to the music threads. All jokes aside, she's the first chick on here that wasn't bitchy to me just because I have a vagina, too and I love that. For those of you who think that doesn't happen amongst the few girls on this site, it's probably because you have a dick. Urban Hatemonger: His sense of humor never ceases to surprise me. He's truly one-a-kind. I feel like I rarely bump into him on the boards, but when I do, we seem to create great comedy. Now, if I could just get a sense of what type of music he's into ... lucifer_sam: Ha, yet another member I steered clear of for awhile. Mainly because his sarcasm is barely detectable most of the time. His fondness of Tom Waits was what did it for me, though. Veridical Fiction: God, what a scumbag. I kid, of course. This guy underestimates himself a lot, I feel. Not only does he offer good advice, but he's into some pretty decent music, too. Because we joined around the same time, I kind of feel like he's my partner in crime around here. From the Sexual Experience thread to infamous MB chat room, I've concluded that that he can be one bad MF; however, I will most like never tell him that directly because he will just start posting more feminine pictures. ja-ha: Oh how he loves his beard and close-ups. He's eclectic taste in music was one of the things that initially kept me around here. Though I get sick of seeing his furry face plastered on the MB walls at times, I love reading his posts - especially when he gets all moddy (yeah, I said it) on us. right-track: He's super nice, so that leads me to believe he's hiding something from us ... Like an unconscious body in his basement. Antonio: Our taste in music is pretty identical. Aside from that, I really like that he is determined and warm in welcoming all the new members. Janzsoon: All initial fuckups and Vietnamese slaves aside, this guy is a great addition to the mods and really enjoy talking to him. dreadnaught: I've not talked to her much, nor do I know much about her. What I DO know is that I'm all her's. Actually, I'm a little familiar with how young she is AND her diverse taste in music and she gives me hope for people her age. nonsubmissivewife: Another female that welcomed me with open arms (and a whip) to the site. I don't know whether I should be jealous or appreciative of her vast knowledge of music. ;) Surrel: Another young one that is way ahead of his time. His hate for kids with cancers and hippies makes me suspicious, though. Perhaps he prefers cancerous hippies? Phew, that is all for now. Because I feel totally judgmental and bitchy now for all that I've just written, I think it's only appropriate to add this: 333: She can be a little too confident for her own good. Far too often, she believes that no one feels like she does and forgets the beauty of simplicity. The internet makes it far too easy for the ill-tempered little girl in her to not surface. Lastly, aside from the strange sense of humor, she can be quite the pervert as well. Wayfarer: I get the feeling he comes off as a ****head to a some on this site because he most certainly came off that way to me when I first read his posts. More recently, I've exchanged words with him on MSN and PMs and I think he's another member that's just chock full of sarcasm (did I really just say that?). He's the only other person on here I know of who respects Bill Hicks and that's pretty righteous on it's own. wolverinewolfweiselpigeon: I'm somewhat familiar with her musical interests, but I'm not quite sure if we have anything in common in that area. ProggyMan: I've always liked this poster. He's young, but knows his ****. We haven't really talked too much though. Judging by his name, I think we may have a few things in common musically. cardboard adolescent: Another member I've barely talked to, but have liked from the get-go. I always look forward to his posts, but there have been times when I've thought he was being kind of a ****, but honestly, what good poster isn't a feisty sometimes? He stepped down from being a mod within days of me joining MB and that's a damn shame. RezZ: Great poster, but MIA lately. SATCHMO: I probably can't say anything about how I feel about him that he doesn't already know. We've one of the most open, honest relationships between two people I've had in a long while. Musically, we've many things in common, but most of all, I turn to him for new tunes. Mikey is a great friend and I wish he'd post more in the music thread! boo boo: I was told by someone to beware of him, but I find him to be very kind and likable. Plus, he's got one snazzy suit. |
sweet nothing: He has given me so many albums, introduced me to so many bands, and made me laugh so many times. Our taste in music is very, very similar, and I consider him to be my very best friend on this site.
adidasss: I have always been drawn to gay boys and Marijan is no exception. :) He's cute and sassy and we have similar taste in music. dac: I think that we would be friends in real life. I can see us hanging out at a party, talking about music and astounding everyone with our knowledge and wit. Oh, and he introduced me to Olivia Tremor Control so major cool points for that. dreadnaught: I don't know much about her general music taste (because she won't conform to the ways of lastfm!) but I love her for this: YO LA TENGO. She's one of my favorite posters because she's smart, funny, and just has an air of cool about her. fasho: It's been said before, but I'll say it again: I wish I was as mature as he is at his age. I found Iron & Wine because of him, and he's shared a lot of albums with me. If you can get past the fact that he has lice he's a really cool guy. janzoon: One of my top 3 favorite posters. He never fails to make me laugh, and I'm happy he was made a mod. lucifer sam: It seems like a lot of people get pissed off and annoyed with him pretty easily, but I enjoy his brutally honest posts and his solid stance on things. molecules: If you ever need somone with excessive knowledge of good pop music, you should turn to this guy. He's incredibly smart and funny, and even though he might get offended easily, he gets over it quickly. pobodys nerfect: Anyone who sends me albums without me even asking for them is awesome in my book. (I just downloaded the Smalls album, I'll report back soon.) comus: His radio show is awesome, his album reviews are fantastic, and the few times I've talked to him in the mb chatroom he won me over with his intelligence and sense of humor. Even in his hateful posts toward Radiohead he makes me laugh. ;) roygbiv: I love his album reviews, I love what he does to my pictures, and I love his sense of humor. He's so obviously a nice guy, and I always look forward to his posts. savannah: All hell will indeed break loose if we are ever together. Savannah has an amazing personality, and there is no one quite like her. I love when she logs in at night because you know she's drinking and you know you're in for a good time. sleepy jack: Another of my top 3 favorite posters. His intelligence is sometimes intimidating, but in a good way. When I first signed up here I thought he was gay, so I was drawn to him, but upon further discussion I learned he's just fucking feisty and I love it. I'll never meet another person quite like him. thrice: One night on aim + bunch of drug stories starting with "I was all fucked up over this girl" + a lot of laughs and innuendos = my first encounter with Nick. I haven't seen him around lately, but I hope he comes back soon. He's got good taste and an awesome sense of humor. toretorden: Here we have the final member of my top 3 favorite posters. I adore his personality, his in-depth repsonses to things, and his ability to disagree without losing his cool. He's incredibly easy to like, and absolutely genuine. veridical fiction: I have no idea what music he likes, but I find him hilarious and insightful. His posts are always honest and he makes interesting threads. PMO: WHERE ARE YOU?! It's really starting to piss me off that you're not around. (Lol geddit?) I've liked him from my start at this forum, and even though we're the same age I feel like he is far superior in intelligence. We have kind of similar taste in music (lastfm rates us at "high") and I've always found him attractive, both mentally and physically. big3: I have never really talked to him... but I've wanted to. I find him pretty intimidating, but at the same time I think a lot of what he says gets misconstrued. He's pretty snappy sometimes, but I haven't been a target so I can't complain. :p: He's a really talented writer, and I love that his reviews are unique and full of voice. coryallen2/darkest hour/mirrorball95: I really fucking hope you all disappear. surell: Well, I liked him at first. I adopted him as my n00b but I must have done something wrong because now everything he says gets on my nerves. alfred: I've bothered him for several albums in my time here, and he's always sent them with a smile(y). I agree that he's the nicest poster here, and I enjoy his posts. fireincairo: My favorite contributor to the songwriting forum, and one of my overall favorite members. I haven't seen him around lately, and that makes me sad. 333: This girl... I like her. I don't know anything about her music taste, but due to the sexual experience thread I know a lot about her sexual preferences. She cracks me up and I like her fiestyness. right track: His posts never fail to entertain, he's always witty, clever and classy. When I joined last year he taught me all about winrar, and now I feel like I owe him so much. So thank you, RT. jackhammer: I don't know what I can say that hasn't already been said about this gentleman. An incredible collection of music, and an overall nice guy. |
K I'll do a few.
Right-Track I don't really know him, but he seems allright. Urban Hatemonger One of my favourite members and one of the very few that can actually make me LOL (and usually does). Jack Hammer We don't seem to interact as much anymore, for some reason, but I do remember once talking to him through private messages and he sent me a link to a site that pretty well single-handedly got me into reggae/dub. As far as the whole music section goes, he's one of the more...useful members on the forum. I hate to use the word "useful" but there you go. Sleepy Jack I'm pretty sure he knows he's one of my favourite posters. And I don't mean poster on MB, I mean I actually got him to send me a picture once so I could print it off and get it blown up to billboard size for my bedroom wall. TheBig3KilledMyRainDog I find that the less I post in the "serious", political forum, the more I like him. Whatever the reason, I've been posting less in the "serious", political forum, so lately I'm liking him more. Seems like a few people consider us both to be arseholes, so that might have something to do with it. Y'know, a classic case of putting two arseholes together and ending up with little but shit. Janszoon Similar to right-track: I don't know him very well, but I can't recall him ever saying anything that...erm...irritated me, or anything like that. toretorden Seems like a smart guy to me, tough to debate with, from what I can remember; part of the reason I, these days, simply read his posts and fend of the feeling of having to reply. :D Boo Boo boo boo is underrated. Fuck the haters. Not really though, I like most of them too. Dreadnaught A girl that can actually make you laugh is harder to come by than you'd think, these days. Has a very "genuine" quality about her... y'know, the type of person most try to surround themselves with but only a few get so lucky. Is apparently very good-looking, but I've yet to see a photo of her. Seems very cool anyway, I like her. 333 Could give her about the same description I gave dreadnaught. One of the few MBers I've spoken to outside of the forum, though I've not seen her online since. C'mon, I'm not that bad with first impressions, am I? :D Seltzer For some reason, I've found I often get along far better with women than I do with men, and these days the only types of guys I can honestly say I enjoy hanging around with are the really laid-back, chilled out ones that tend to be completely content spending a Friday night with a joint or a beer and a good album. Seltzer always seemed like one of those, to me, so I like him. The type of guy I could imagine myself being friends with in "real life". SATCHMO Another one of my favourite members. I hardly know him at all, but I always thought it so fitting that he had a Residents avatar because his posts remind me of them, in a way. Often proves that utter randomness can still be funny. Veridical Fiction Is he new? I'm pretty sure, but it feels like he's been here awhile. Either way, he fits in very well (while still contributing and standing out), seems pretty funny and, like myself, finds great merriment in some of the forum's more ironic posts. I like him. Comus He's one of those people that you like but you're not sure why - as in, if someone were to write a description of their personality out for you on a piece of paper, you'd imagine yourself to dislike them... but for some reason, you don't at all. I guess some just have it in them to make normally awful traits endearing, kind of like how some of the noisier bands out there make normally awful sounds endearing. Let's say that Comus is a real Mars Volta of a person. savannah I'd write about that one but I spent far too much time on this post to risk it being deleted. I will say that perhaps I've only misunderstood her. Everyone else seems to like her. Alfred Another cool guy. How old is he? For some reason, he gives off the impression of being a younger teen that acts far more mature than most that age do. ProggyMan People used to rip on him like hell and I was genuinely surprised he didn't just leave the forum, but as it turns out, it's a good thing he didn't. Everyone seems to think he's allright now and that'd include myself. Vanilla I've only interacted with her through a couple of private messages, but during our regrettably short exchange, she did come off as one of the movingly nicest people I've spoken to in some time. cardboard adolescent Probably has my favourite username of anybody on the forum, and has always been one of my favourite posters. Kind of like toretorden in that he writes posts that I love to read but hate to attempt to respond to. RezZ I wonder if he's into Kyuss at all, because of all the people on here, I'd say the psychedelic, desertlike atmosphere of Kyuss' music reminds me most of him. Like Seltzer, he's someone I could easily imagine myself being friends with in "real life". |
Aw wayfarer I love you too.
Also wwwp I don't do my radioshow anymore, the guy just dissapeared along with the website for great fail :( |

Thanks very much. I have been busy starting my life (i.e. getting a job, moving out of home), and have only been dropping acerbic comments every now and then. I'll drop some more lyrics in. Might do one of these today or tomorrow. |

He's really the only e-person I know who is capable of that. When you finally understand what his base point is, you realize it's something simple that's piled beneath somewhat of a distracting collection of metaphors and sideways observations. I don't know if it's intentional, but it's not very efficient. If it's just his way of speaking, then who can judge him. |

he isn't steeped in rhetoric like a lot of other serious posters here and he still maintains intellect and care with what he puts forth. |
Right-Track
He seems to cop a lot of flack from the newbs, so he's probably doing a very good and honourable job. They are often in need of a good whipping. Urban Hatemonger I don't generally see eye to eye with is views, but he is consistently amusing. Jack Hammer An intensely nice guy with a great expanse of musical taste and knowledge. Has helped me out many times with tunes. Sleepy Jack Full of the kind of adolescent fire that gets me hard. TheBig3KilledMyRainDog I like him, he's got a great 'arsehole' streak. Janszoon Good depth of knowledge, but haven't really interacted so much in a while. toretorden Haven't been on here that much since he joined (unrelated) seems like a nice smart guy. Boo Boo I don't think Boo Boo and I have ever agreed on anything barring one time, and I can't remember what that was actually about...but he's great. Everyone needs a token progger, and how boring would it be if we all agreed on everything. Seltzer Seems pretty chill. SATCHMO Funny short posts...don't really know much else. Veridical Fiction Seems a bit like a jockish arsebag? i don't really know though. Comus Sometimes I like Comus....and sometimes I think he's a pretentious maloderant of a person. At least he's interesting. savannah I really don't know anything beyond the orange tanned, pouty/cleavagy myspace-esque shots in the member's gallery. Alfred Really young and still sporting some immature tastes, but to each his own, he's a cool guy. ProggyMan Another young'un but has become a great poster. Vanilla Seems kinda saucy but nice, reminds me a hell of a lot of my girlfriend. cardboard adolescent A intelligently reticent and sparing poster with excellent taste. I think I downloaded every album in his top 25. RezZ Seems interesting __________________ |
