I will try to get this thread back on track while simultaneously insulting as many people as possible. Wish me luck.

VANILLA
- I love you like a sister, but sometimes you are dumb as sh*t. I also think that my actual sisters are dumb as sh*t sometimes. You, however, have this weird ability to phase in and out of a state of intelligence, where one minute, you say all the right things, and the next, you present a verbal train wreck. I will, however, give you credit for the possibility of being drunk during those accidents, because the only way I could call you out on something like that is if I wasn't drunk right now myself. So, let it be known that I officially think you can't handle liquor and judgement at the same time. But you're fun either way. No harm, no foul.

DIRTY
- I know you're reading this. If you only knew how fun you made the staff forum when you create new accounts, you would totally stop letting us have as good a time as we have. It's rare that we encounter a human being with so little else to do in their lives. You're practically a test study.

BURNING DOWN
- Probably the most well-meaning, sensitive, generic person I've ever met on the internet. No offense. I don't know if you're just very very nice and holding a lot back, or are literally a robot template sent here from a sophisticated other-net whose sole purpose is to emulate human response, but has trouble doing so effectively with text.
You're the kind of person I would trust, simply because I could predict your responses to any situation. While that's comforting in certain situations, it doesn't paint a very detailed picture of who you are against a wash of standardized personalities.

TORE
- You're probably the most well-intentioned person I've ever met, to a motherf*cking fault. In your quest to apply your ethics and ideals to the rest of the worldwide population, you fail to acknowledge the circumstances by which a dynamic outside your experience happens to operate. 9 out of 10 times, I read your posts simply hoping for neutral scientific positions. I find that I am increasingly running into this other Tore that thinks Norway = the world. It's disconcerting.
However, I do follow your unbiased approaches in the scientific realms with a fervor that would piss Michio Kaku off.

Which brings me to:

DUGA
- Because of your dedication to strictly scientific and logical explanation in most regards that actually require it, you're a pretty big deal to me. I read your posts and make notes.
I also know that you and I share music preference, but that's irrelevant in a music forum...

Speaking of music, URBAN.
- You already know you're a d*ck. I don't need to post about you to suddenly bring this to the surface. And that's your major appeal.
However, from the outside, I think maybe it pigeonholes you in a lot of ways, and it doesn't give people the opportunity to see the other sides of you.
Because they aren't on the mailing list for those photos...

PEDESTRIAN
- On paper, you are ideal in problem-solving and general ethic. You're creative, and are capable of carrying out, and sticking to, any task you set out for yourself and the benefit of what you work for.
But you seriously hold yourself back by your own image and perception of what you think other people have of you. It's probably more of an assumption from me to say that, but I think it's pretty obvious that you could benefit a lot from simply not giving a f*ck, as could many of us, but you in particular.
I feel like you hold yourself back. I feel like you have the potential to assert yourself far more than you currently do. Other than that, I have no complaints.

HIP HOP BUNNY HOP
- I both love you and hate you. I love that you can be practically the only one holding the views you do, while being the only one to have the balls to stick to them. I might not agree with some (or most) of your positions, but I respect the fact that you don't tailor them to be agreed with, nor do you simply not present them for fear of those ideas not being agreed with. If there's any catalyst for a productive societal debate, it would not be a debate without someone like you around.

JANSZOON
- You are on vacation. It would not be right for me to criticize your strict leanings when you are not here to defend them. But, of course I'd just say something like that to get you to ask me a question. You're very good at asking people questions.

BIG3
- Oh god, where to start. Here's an attempt: ???
You're one of my favorite people on here, because no matter what you say, I can logically conclude you're on drugs, or are just being Big3. It's one of those safe bet things. I don't know if it's because you went to a different grammar school than most of the other people I've come across, or are simply texting while typing, and getting like 3 different bl*wjobs at once, which I could understand would be distracting. I just read the things you say, and picture you texting your posts while skydiving and getting bl*wjobs by like 3 different women who don't even have parachutes. You have something coherent to say, but it gets lost in translation...
I guess I can't blame you. What guy could?

CANWLLCORFE
- You look molesterish with your head shaved. I know you're this big designer guy, but take it from me... you're better off with hair. Minimalistic design does not have to extend to your hair follicles.

FRANKO PEPE KALEKEKEKEKEEKE
- You are a character with considerable connotations to another character. And I'm not talking about Popeye. Good luck.

HOWARD THE DUCK
- I haven't cared about anything you've said since you got here. I won't use that as anecdotal evidence for no one else giving a sh*t, but I dunno... I feel comfortable in the assumption that I'm not alone. Good luck mattering.

TROLLHEART
- At first, you were simply this journal-updating fiend. Now, you are doing stuff in the community. I just want you to know that the more time you're not updating your journal, the more I like you. :)

I guess that's it for now.
If I left anyone out, just give me some more time.

You left me out. Do me now, please.

While I wait, I'll do you:

Freebase Dali, formerly known by the extremely douchey name: Veridical Fiction (Truthful Fiction. Get it, dummies?).

You and I joined MB at approximately the same time in 2009. For the record, I realize that you joined 3 months before I did. You had that tiny avatar that was a picture of Barack O. smoking a cigarette that was popular at the time. And your signature said, "Oh what the fuck"

I wanted to like you because you spoke intelligently but you were such a conceited ass that I couldn't fully respect you. Your insecurities shone like the sun.

I would have totally overlooked these things but I couldn't find anything to like about you. Your insecurity and conceit overlapped as you posted what you considered to be sexy pics of yourself (you know the ones I mean). You paradoxically hated yourself, didn't have much to say about music, wanted positive attention, and considered yourself to be a great asset to MB.

When anybody called you out on the fact that you had nothing to say about music other than the music you created yourself, you retaliated by pointing out that you have more technical computer skills than most here.

Eventually your persistence, intelligence, and tech skills won out and you became a moderator of MB despite your open alcoholic tendencies and egotistic proclivities. I respect all of that.

I actually like you now, or at least have become very used to you. I hate your singing voice but I like your instrumental music. One of the artists on my iTunes menu is Freebase Dali.

PoorOldPo 10-13-2012 08:41 AM

I don't really agree with what Engine said there( Well I don't really know Freebase Dali at all to be honest) . But I do get the feeling there are a few people in here with their heads up their own arses.

I just want to say that although I was drunk I regret nothing and would do it again! :p:

And personally I think you're wrong about Urban, he just hands out the dick responses to people who deserve it. I like how he doesn't hold back or care what people think. When you look around at the threads and posts he's contributed there is only a small element of that.

Freebase Dali let me help you a bit sir.
1) My name is Franco Pepe Kalle not Franko Pepe Kalekekekekeeke as you like it to be.
2) I did not compare myself to Popeye (although I admire him). You did.
3) Who do I remind you of? I have no idea. No idea.

Look you can dislike me but your rather weird commentary speaks volume on you. You seem someone who has a interesting temper and also you can't stand folks who are not like you. I understand. You seem not like the laugh KIEKIEKIEKIEKIE. I understand too. Plus I am a student not a musician myself. I am fan of two late great congolese musicians FRANCO and PEPE KALLE. They died too soon but I will do what I can to keep their names alive.

Let me help you by hearing this smooth song from Franco. the picture on that youtube post is Franco's young brother late Bavon Marie Marie. Franco's vocal is the low tone. His brother originally did this song but Franco did his own version.

PoorOldPo 10-13-2012 04:50 PM

I love Franko, even though he writes weird **** on my wall sometimes and never explains it. I particularly liked his "Go to Minneapolis, you will find several strippers there"

Freebase - Often gets by based on sheer wit and coolness. He's the kind of guy you want to impress. Whereas Janszoon's approval feels like the kind you get from a tough-to-impress father, Freebase's approval makes you feel like you might maybe just be a bit cool too. I also get the impression he loves to people watch (or maybe just member watch...I'm not sure how this extends to real life) because every once in a while he comes out with these really deep cutting Spill Your Guts posts that really attempt to get at members' psyche. It's interesting stuff.

Trollheart 10-14-2012 12:37 PM

Freebase, thank you for your compliments --- I think I was one of the few who didn't get insulted (we could change your name to Wowbagger, except you made the rookie mistake of not doing that alphabetically) --- although I'm not sure if what you said about my journal means you don't like it, or you just prefer it when I'm out and about, as it were. Either way, appreciate the thought. It did take some time to get out of my cave and emerge blinking into the light. I'm still happiest working away there most of the time, but it's nice to see there's still a world out here when I decide to peek my head out.

I am thoroughly blushed. :D
And regarding people watching, I don't really set out to do so in normal life, but I am pretty judgmental about people and their personalities in general. Not in a strictly negative way or anything, but I find myself constantly analyzing and evaluating people internally. It's more than a pastime, I guess.

Trollheart, you are a lot easier to tolerate when you're not devoting all of your time to making journal entries with 785 videos in them. I think you're very intelligent, thoughtful, and wise. It's just a lot easier to see that when you're posting around the forums and not causing me to approve your journals 24/7. :)

Molesterish? Good stuff. I respect your opinion, but TRUST me, balding looks a trillion times better with a shaved head than one with long hair. It's honestly no contest, unless you have a horribly shaped head. In that case, well, I guess you're just shit out of luck. Yeah that's what I was going for. Truth be told, I had to dry my eyes all of 30 seconds prior because of how hard I was laughing. He had gotten his haircut, and for whatever reason, the lady left his mustache completely intact. He looks horrible with facial hair no matter what, since it looks more or less like he glued pubes to his face, but just having that make up his mustache was completely hilarious to me. It also went perfectly with the fact that I kept calling him "dad" for his taste in music and changing views on life.

Trollheart,

I am totally impressed with your great wisdom and knownledge. I mean sometimes you know how to command the situation. You also have great analysis on music. Your journal is so interesting and worth seeing.

I always wondered this: Did you ever wanted to be a Radiohost?

Blarobbarg 10-17-2012 11:29 AM

Can we move this racism discussion to another thread, or remove it entirely? I come here to see member's opinions on other members, not the read a several page-long argument of the semantics of racism and what it actually means.

Besides, arguing with someone on the internet is like arguing with a brick wall. It wastes time and energy, and is essentially pointless (unless that brick wall is REALLY wrong).

On that note...

Wuzzly. He's brand new, but I'm really liking his taste in music, and he's actually CONTRIBUTING to discussions! We need more noobs like him, I hope he sticks around.

Thanks Franco! I did once, back in the eighties, host a radio show on community radio here --- probably had about three listeners, two who were awake! But it was fun. I wouldn't want to be a DJ these days though, as the emphasis seems much more on how funny/outrageous/controversial you can be than what you know about music. It kills me when they play six songs in a row, I liked the fourth, and they just waffle on and say nothing about the songs. I always made a point when I was on the radio of, even when I played four or so tracks one after another, backtracking to name them all, unless I had done so before I started. I hate what radio has become. :( These days people seem to listen for what they can win, or to phone in crazy suggestions, and music is a very very distant second.

Glad you're enjoying my journal, and if you have any suggestions please let me know.

gunnels 10-17-2012 08:13 PM

It's time for the ultimate lurker to finally take a crack at this.

Wuzzly- Post for post, probably contributes more to the music threads than I do, which is awesome for someone who's been around for a week. He (?) seems a tad bit brash, but that's never stopped people from being an asset to the community before. Just like

Urban- Wobbles between bitter old bastard and comedic genius. Regardless, I always go straight to his posts when I see him the 'new posts' list, as it's always something either entertaining or scathingly truthful. He acts all crusty and sarcastic, but I think he really loves all (or at least most) of us.

Jackhammer- He's probably forgotten more now than I will know ten years from now. Not just about music (in which he's damn near omnipotent), but in a plethora of subjects where doesn't get enough credit. He's also tough, modest, amiable, and has a golden sense of humor.

Janszoon-
But really, out of everyone he is the hardest to write about even though he's one of my favorite members. His posts just have a way of cheering you up and making you smile. Maybe it's because they have an almost child-like innocence to them, even in the most adult contexts. He's very down to earth and humble in the internet's sea of pretention. He is also, in my opinion, the kindest member on the forum along with Canwll and tore.

Canwll Corfe- You seem to walk a line between misanthropy and selfless kindness. As a psych nerd, your personality is very intriguing- being so attracted to melancholious things, suicide as a reassuring thought...I'd probably bug the shit out of you if we were neighbors just trying to analyze you or something.

Tore- I really wish he would post more nowadays. If you want an unbiased response, this is your guy. If you want a resource of knowledge, musical, scientific, or otherwise, this is your guy. If you want a loveable personality and a heart of gold, tore is your man.

Howard- Despite previous attacks on your relevance to this forum, I think your oddities stir things up in a positive way. I look forward to your posts because they are pretty much guaranteed to break the mold in some way.

Hermoine/Paloma/Daynaetc- Blunt, sarcastic sense of humor. No BS, concise posting style. Brave as all getout and probably has bigger balls than me. I can't read your blog, though; I'm on a diet and every page is dripping in food porn.

Vanilla- You can be very insightful, compassionate, and kind. Your knowledge of electronic music admirable as well. But can you perhaps, maybe, possibly not make sexual innuendos in every post? Like, 80% would be a good cutoff.

Burning Down- Having somebody with a thorough knowledge of classical music in a pop-dominated forum is a blessing. People tend to characterize her as this robotic, PC, and nice-in-a-professional-way kind of person, but I just don't see that. I think a lot of her humor is lost on people because it's rather subtle, and she has a bit of an edge when it comes to dealing with stupidity (and I mean that in the nicest way possible).

Conan- Sr. Conando, I've seriously watched your IQ and average post length triple in the last four years, and you were an intelligent and productive member back then as well. His writing style is one of my favorites on this form, balancing a casual, common sense tone with insightful points and clarity. Stellar sense of humor as well. Not bad looking either.

May do more later.

Ok see if I can do this. Won't be much.

Janz - You're cool, calm and collected. Know how to respond in an appropriate manner, and definitely one of the friendlier members here. I agree you seem very down to earth. Well acknowledged and have a diverse taste in music (I admire your tastes btw). I always look through your recommendations whoever you give them to. :)

Mojopinuk - Hi Mojopunk! ;) Gotta say the same about being one of the more friendlier members. You're level-headed, very approachable, and give a great ear to attention. Definitely an example member here.

Neapo - Knows how to debate, very open and has a sort of gentleman's sense of humour. Nice guy all around.

Trollheart - Your Mr. Burns persona is very entertaining. Great writer, especially when it comes to reviewing music.

mr. dave - I don't know how to express my thoughts exactly. You're just... Cool. Nice. Know your ****, especially when others don't, and you're not rude about it.

Fredde - I really like your sense of humour. You get me laughing a lot of times. A valuable member that seems to get over-looked here. You got a great place! ;)

Vanilla - Don't come across with you much here, but keep drinking please! You're just fun and silly, it's mind boggling. But really you just know how to have fun. I like you. :)

Hermione - I like your attitude to be honest. A woman to be feared. Keep sticking your pins in. ;)

Freebase Dali 10-20-2012 10:21 PM

Rjinn - Knows how to operate this thread correctly.

Edit:
And seems very nice as well.

Thank you for this. I am not as friendly and approachable as I used to be but thats mainly because I used to try too hard to be nice and wasn't being myself. Now I will stand behind my opinion, regardless of whether it is a popular one or not, not really give too much of a crap what people think and won't think twice about calling someone a **** if they are indeed being a ****. So it's nice to know that you see me this way, as being nice and approachable is still important to me.

As for you, you are certainly one of my favourite new members. You may be my favourite newbie of this year actually. In some ways you seem to be someone who is maybe still trying to find herself and work out who she is? You don't always seem the most confident person and if this is the case. maybe one of the things you will discover in the hopefully near fuiture is that confidence in yourself to be who you are.

Of course I could also be way off. What do I know? Regardless, you have presented yourself as a very friendly, very polite, very nice person and someone who, along with a great taste in music (any Electric Wizard fan is good by me) could be a real asset to this community and seems the kind of person I would really like to get know in person.

What in blue blazes --- I'm not reading THAT! What do you mean, contractually obliged? I'll have you know I have the highest-paid lawyers in the city! We'll see who eats whose shorts, my friend! What? THEY advised this? My own lawyers? Oh, damn and blast it, all right then!

Let's see... hmmm... not reading that.... nor that.... that's right out! Ah, yes, very well then: ahem. Rinn, jinn, rinj, rjin ---- oh damn and blast it, why don't people have proper names? Names like Charles. Or Montgomery. Good names. Real names. What? Oh yes. Well, let's just say the wooden looking fellow with the flat head and the cheroot in your pictogram. Yes, yes, that'll do! Excellent!

I like the cut of your jib, young fella. Or lass. Nobody bothered to write down that information for me. What? You're fired! Yes, now back to the response. Where was I? Oh yes. Anytime you want a job here, it's yours (I could do with another few organs I can harve---) WHAT? The microphone was ON?! What sort of idiot would not make sure --- I BEG your pardon? Yes, I know I'm the one holding the switch --- ah. Hmm. Yes, well you're fired too! In fact, you're ALL fired! Total shutdown of the plant! Go on! Be off with you! Get off my property before I release the hounds! What? I fired them too? Well, I'll hire them back freelance. At a much reduced wage of course. Now GET OUT!

Bah! I don't know why I bother! This speech is OVER!

Oh yes. One more thing. Fifteen minutes from now I shall unleash a horror upon the world the likes of which it has never seen! No-one shall be spared! NO-ONE! HA!

(Translation: thanks for your kind words, Rjinn...) :D

And seems very nice as well.

Thanks Freebase. You come across as a respectable guy, and that's always something to appreciate.

No, you're pretty spot on. I'm one of those lost wanderer sort of people, and since there isn't a clear personal picture to assert, confidence correspondingly doesn't come into the picture. Thanks for the encouragement. :)

You really don't come across as an aggressive person honestly. More assertive if anything. I find you quite comfortable to respond to. That's mostly what lead my comment.

Wow, thanks gunnels! :)

*here's the money we agreed on. Count it if you like, it's all there.* :pssst:

Awww thanks, I find that this place is a great place to have fun. :)

I like you too, you're a kick ass new member!

Yup, that about sums me up! I have a great deal of selflessness, which makes it so that I'm very nice to people. Well, not just people, but animals and bugs as well. Even sometimes when I was younger I would feel empathy towards inanimate objects. I don't know where the melancholic side comes from. In real life I'm always joking around and whatnot, so it somehow doesn't translate into my behavior. It used to though, back when I was around 15 or so.

After being here for a little over a year I have formulated a few opinions about a few people.

Guitarbizzare- I know you know your stuff when it comes to music and appreciate some of your insight about different techniques etc. But other than that your sense of humor is something to be desired a lot of times imo. Lighten up already dude...you cant let everybody get on your nerves. Seems like a lot of times the only reason your here is to criticize people and validate your supreme existance.

Janszoon- Still the same, you usually throw some humor in when I least expect it when im reading one of your posts. Dont always agree with your politics but am an avid fan of your taste in music.

Dirty- Even though your gone I feel I have to pay homage to one of my favorite former MBers. Your posts were not only funny but genuine and very blunt. Your knowledge of sports was always fun to discuss and your vids in the cafe are still priceless. (I know SK would agree) Always willing to tackle any topic you felt passionatley about head on and unafraid of the reprecussions. You will be missed my friend..at least by some of us. So if your ever trolling along and somehow sneak your way back into MB...well.this posts for you

Freebase- I enjoy your posts on just about any topic I take the time to read. Always well spoken, with a hint of darkness to your humor. Never afraid to lay a comment out there some would find repulsive but usually its worded in such a way that you cant help but laugh and your timing is usually impeccable. Have a talent for creating music of your own and I hope to hear more in the future.

Engine- I like a lot of your taste in music and your dry sense of humor. Your posts are usually well thought out, sharp and to the point. Seem like you have a low tolerance for b.s and your a native Texan.

Batlord- Lol..you trip me out man with your morbid twisted posts and humor. Keep up the good work!!!

Howard The Duck- Dude I've come to the conclusion your just a post whore. A one sentence or 4 word junky but hey...you dont try to hide it and probaly dont care.

There are a couple of newer members who im starting to appreciate but im tired of typing and my spell check does'nt work. So now my head hurts from thinking to much so im going to call it quits for now. Laters

Mojopinuk - I feel like I should have endless things to say about him. You're simply a great guy. I quite like to lock things up inside and I feel like Neil's the type of guy I could vent to and trust with anything I needed to talk about. He has provided me with good advice on a few occasions which I appreciate more than anything. He's just so damn nice and helpful. I wish we spoke more but I know we don't need to talk always to be friends. I never thought I'd say any of that to my natural enemy haha :D.

Hermoine - My wife, my boaby! Dayna is a great person. She's pretty, smart and doesn't take **** off anyone because she has a Scottish soul and she will fucking stick the heed in you! I would put money on it. If I ever go across the pond, I definitely want to meet her and hang out and she can bake me food because I think she loves me?

Janszoon - I got a triple "" and it made my LIFE haha. A genuinely nice guy, I wish I knew him more. He has an amazing sense of humour and I generally find similar things funny. When he's dealing with noobs he's never douchey with them, which I respect because alot of people pick on noobs just because they can. Also, suh-weet avatar sir.

Burning Down - I feel like we have a good bit in common plus we're both tall chicks! BD is super kind to EVERYONE and like Jans is always happy to help. I remember the both of us joined around the same time and you stick out as one of the first solid members I noticed (remembered username haha) around the boards. Come to Scotland and I will challenge you to party :D. Canadians party hard right? I need some competition.

FRED HALE SR. - Would love to smoke a few joints with Fred, he's a top guy, I think his posts are underrated and I would be more than obliged to get high with him. He also likes me to pretend I'm a guy sometimes and I stick my finger in his ass.

Rjinn - Only very recently caught my eye, now I love to read your posts. I don't know exactly what it is I like so much about you as I don't think we have much in common, especially where music is concerned. Keep up the excellent posts and general awesomeness.

PoorOldPo - Probably my favourite member by now but I have completely neglected our chats recently (sorry :(), I think Conor has a very interesting way of thinking and I can't ever even begin to imagine how his train of thought works. I find him quirky but not because of the way he dresses or the music he's into. His mind genuinely works in it's own unique little way. I especially like how he can let his imagination run away with itself (Something I have loved to do since a child). and he's completely hilarious and cool.

WWWP - Probably one of the biggest personality's on MB. You are an absolutely outstanding person. Just keep on being you and you will be right. When you opened up 'The Forearm Thread' I literally thought I was going to die! Haha. You always do the most obvious, unexpected things for humour. If that even makes sense?

If I care enough I might do more at some point. I doubt it though.
