Gracias for the words boozin. I've made a few posts in the album downloads thread and have made a few band threads, but otherwise I haven't gotten too much into the music discussion. Been a bit too occupied to do so.

I'll list a few people.

Skaligojurah: He loves avant-prog/RIO which is great because it's a fantastic and interesting genre. He's a really intelligent poster, and I always enjoy having a conversation with him (especially when it comes to avant-garde musical suggestions). I still can't believe he is reviewing Sun Ra's entire discography, and I think that that in itself shows how much commitment he has to music and this forum. I can definitely say that he's one of my favorite people on this forum. It took me a while to spell out his name by memory instead of looking it up, though.

Il Duce: He seems like a great guy to hang out with - even if he does have a fetish for Mussolini (). I definitely enjoy seeing the pictures he posts in the Member Picture Gallery thread, and I equally enjoy discussing music with him (he likes VU... enough said). I can also safely say that he is one of the most active posters out of us newbies and contributes a lot to the forum. Although, for someone who has "Metal is my narcosis" as his user title, I don't see him talk about metal very often (maybe that is just me).

Djchameleon: While he and I might not share too much in common when it comes to hip hop, I can definitely say I have a lot of respect for him. Most of his posts that I read from him tend to be very thoughtful, which can be rare because sometimes people (like myself) just make short, meaningless posts. My first impression of him (which was just looking at his avatar) was that he would be another dumb womanizer. Let me say that being quick to judge others is never a wise thing to do, and I couldn't have been anymore wrong.

I'll list a few others later... maybe a few mods (dun dun dun).

I may as well get involved here.

Dirty: When I first 'saw' Dirty, and heard he was a white hip hop fan, I instantly assumed he'd be a bit try hard and only listen to really underground stuff in an attempt to earn more credibility as a fan of the music (this has been the case I have experienced in the past). I had a PM conversation with him not long after I signed up though, and he wasnt like that at all. He liked all of the obvious names, and I felt that he wasnt going to jump down my throat if I mentioned liking Cam'Ron or something. It was very refreshing to be honest.

s_k:I wasnt sure what to make of s_k at the start. He was really friendly, but in a traditional way if this makes sense. I am used to alot of joking around as a way of bonding, 'I mock you, you mock me' type of thing, but he was just genuinely nice and couldnt do enough to help me settle in around here. He also re-recorded a youtube video he'd made previously of a record playing (the name escapes me right now, sorry) after I'd asked for some recommendations. He told me the original video he'd done was poor quality so he'd redone it so I can hear the song properly. That was way more than I'd expect someone to do really, especially for a newbie.

Burning Down:Actually gave me an infraction within about an hour of me being here. I decided to try and make a better impression with you with my proper posts, and not with my personality (because that failed miserably). But it seems we actually dont like any of the same music!! Outside of lounge threads, I dont even notice your posts really, and if we do interact its me asking about something you know and looking like a complete idiot. On the plus side you sound like Kat Von D, which I like.

Jack Pat:One of my favourite posters here, again not that we have really interacted that much, but we've had a couple of threads where we've had a laugh (Skittles are NOT a candy BAR), and when I mentioned Portal you gave them a listen despite me telling you how they sound, and you telling me that wasnt your taste at all. I respected highly that you still gave them a listen though.

Jackhammer: Seems to know alot about music from alot of genres, but isnt in your face with it which I like. I had a fear that seeing him in every section would mean he's be a bit of a snob or elitist, but he seems to be really relaxed about music. Also, he has the best avatar here by a mile!

djchameleon:I have two sides with dj. In threads where its a pretty neutral topic he is good for a conversation, but in some threads where you are on the opposite side of something to him he's a bit more of an ass-hole (in the nicest way possible lol). Weirdly it only seem to be threads where I am in discussion with Ben Butler that I notice this with dj, so that'd be the Rihanna thread where I compared Kanye and Alicia Keys to Rihanna, and the more recent Rebecca Black thread. I think he's generally a good guy though.

Tore and mojopinuk are also people I hold in high esteem, more for their roles in making me feel a bit more welcome when I first joined.

I don't think you're an idiot at all; no one would know anything if they never asked questions. You had one slip-up when you joined but none since then. Good for you Your personality is okay, well your online personality that is. I don't know you in real life of course. I'm sorry we got off on the wrong foot.

I still blame the official sounding stuff on the language. I'm not as free as I want to be. When I am, I usually end up getting misunderstood. I can assure you that I am in no way official . I am the mocking type myself, I just can't get the hang of it here.
Glad I made you feel comfortable!

Hahaha, was that really so special? Well no prob at all.
And newbie or no newbie, we share the love for music so I'm very glad to help you along!

Fwiw (still have to make a list): Altough you were one of the Muzicforums 'babyboomers' and I thought you wouldn't last long, after a couple of postings I figured you're a great guy. Glad you (and you were one of the few of those people) stuck around!

I do know lots about music and time does make fools of the best of us, so I do come across as an elitist twat sometimes but it is definitely not intentional.

It is difficult to have 25 years of listening experience and not piss people off with your views sometimes especially if you do listen to a wide array of music.

To anyone I have pissed off with my views regarding their musical tastes.... grow a pair

I didnt think I'd last too long here either tbh, because the MF past and the cloud of controversy around me in particular when I joined made things really awkward for me to integrate into the community here.

I like how your username can go at the start of that sentence to make it seem alot more patronising towards me. Was that the intention?

AwwSugar, I'm sorry everything started off like that, maybe things will be different now that you've mentioned how you feel.

See!! I am going to review you right now!

AwwSugar:Has a patronising username if used in certain contexts, and I hate being patronised.
