Tyler's my favourite as well, fucking love his verses in everything. Splatter is phenomenal.

Tyler is definitely the most talented member of OFWGKTA, but I'd say Earl is still really talented and comes in close second. Hodgy Beats is probably third for me. I kind of want to review their mixtape Radical later on in this club.

I was fairly convinced I wouldn't enjoy what I heard, but was actually surprised to find otherwise. I really like Earl's skilled flow and I do hope he will still be able to rap so well after he's matured a little bit. The lyrics weren't bad, but as one review I read while looking up the album said: "It comes off as sophomoric at times, but he was 16 at the time of recording... so that just makes sense".

I recommend Stapleton, Pigions, Earl, and Kill. The beat on Stapleton really exemplifies what I mean about the interesting production. I think it's very experimental. The same can be said about a lot of the beats. Almost dubstep-like.

I'm lookin forward to checkin out Tyler, the Creator...

I'm about to check this out. I heard it was good, and I like Tyler the Creator's stuff..and I know Earl is a better rapper than Tyler..so I'm optimistic.

Amazing flow and rhyming skills. Can't believe he's only 16 with the creative rhyme schemes he is throwing together. A lot of great sets of lines too. Favorite song is definitely "Kill" by far... Too much rape stuff though, same with Tyler. I guess they don't have anything else to write about, but I'm just not feelin all the rape rapping. For their age this is good stuff, but if they were a few years older this wouldn't be that impressive so I wanna see how they progress as they get older. A lot of good rhymes in there but just such a repetitive subject of rape and I can't dig it all that much.

Anyone else feel like they could hear some influences in there? I was just listen and at different points I heard a little Eminem influence and some MF Doom. Not like throughout all the songs or anything but just at different moments that kinda popped into my head. Wasn't sure if anyone else heard hints of influences by certain dudes or not.

I definitely can feel an Eminem influence. It sounds like some of the angry music Eminem made when he was younger. I'm sure he'll grow out of making every song angry, but his flow and delivery is nearly impeccable.

I'm hearing MF DOOM and Kool Keith (Doc Oc) kinds of influences.

But I think I did hear him say he was listinening to Eminem and his lady was listening to Blueprint. Cool. He listens to that gritty Eminem ****, but he still respects the lyrical, poetic aspects that folks like Print are all about.

His skit tracks reminded me of a more juvenile, black Eminem. They were bearable.

Yeah I loved his delivery and his flow but if he keeps down this same path with the lyrical content , he'll probably end up doing mostly horrorcore rap

Phantom Limb 01-07-2011 11:16 AM

I think that the OF gang will either stop talking about rape so much, or people will get bored. You have to have the right mindset when you start into this album. Anyway, it's fun to listen to this album as long as you don't listen to it too much.

So does that mean this album is as godawful as that recent Tyler, the Creator album?
