I don't like the whole shebang.

I listen to it and I don't hear risk-taking at all, just dullness.

So then, what kind of rap do you like?

Maybe you should give the Earl album a try. The production is the same and they both have similiar lyrics but the rapping and the general style is different.

YouTube - Tyler , The Creator - Seven

YouTube - Kill

The second one is Earl.

I think its a little bit harsh to say that the rapping is generic. It's more of an acquired taste.

If he didn't like Tyler's album, I really doubt he'd like Earl's.

Yeah, same thing I was thinking.

Worth a try, then we could at least get a little bit of conflicting opinion and here that'll generate discussion. 10 people saying "it's good" isn't as interesting.

The more I listen, the more I'm just turned off by the lyrical content of Tyler, and a lot of Earl. I don't really see it as risk-taking or daring. I mean, he's got this broad subject of rape/doing crazy stuff so he has unlimited things to rhyme. I don't know, this whole horrorcore rap thing just really isn't my style at all. A lot of respect to the flow and rhyme schemes and there are a good amount of great lines, but just the subject matter and stuff turns me off from it

James 01-07-2011 11:50 AM

Earl is 16 and Tyler is 18. The lyrics are very immature.
