Anyhow, hopefully its not too presumptious of me, but I thought I'd share a brief list of my favorite DnB songs with the goal of either getting some feedback or simply sharing some favorite songs with the hopes that someone will end up liking one or more of them as much or more than I do.

8 Bit Bitch (Spor Remix) - Evol Intent
Age of Empires - Photek
Amparo (Sanctuary) -Blue Nine.a
Arrakis - Black Sun Empire
Breach - Black Sun Empire
Broken Eyes (AsKa Remix) - Concord Dawn
Comalies - Lethal Gene Project
Dark Rain - Current Value
Eastern Jam - Chase and Status
Edge of Dreams - Current Value
Exodus -Noisia feat KRS-ONE and Mayhem
Hell - Gein
Hesitate (Spor & Toxin Remix) - Fallout
Middle of the Night - Evol Intent
Pack of Wolves (Pendulum Remix) - Nightbreed
Papua New Guinea (TitanZERO Remix) - Future Sound of London
Pieces - Chase and Status feat Plan B
Publike - Colossal
The Return of Bowser (Dark Castle Edit) - Prodigal Son
Running - Chase and Status
Stompbox (Spor Remix) - The Qemists
Sun King - State of Mind
Violation - SPL & T.Z.A.

Also, I'd like to thank Veridical Fiction for uploading that pack of songs, even though I had heard some of them before, it was still rather nice.

Nice choices, you're not from New Zealand by any chance? Have you heard of Shapeshifter? They are more laid back but I think evoke the strong emotions that you like in DnB songs. I can hook you up with their music if you like?

I'm hoping you will like Kora mate, they're really good. It's definitely an outfit I've been meaning to see for a long time live, but for a while now the album has been more than welcome in my stereo anytime.

Alongside Salmonella Dub.

Wrong thread.
Drum & Bass is a music genre.

Thank you for mentioning Calyx, they are really good. Jackhammer recommended London Elektricity to me:

And I recommend State of Mind to you:

Freebase Dali 06-25-2009 01:22 AM

Calyx himself is good, but Calyx & Teebee are fantastic together.
If you like them, you'll like Spor.

I don't know if that's to me or not, but I will definitely check out Spor.

crash_override 06-25-2009 10:47 AM

Ok I already know London Elektricity, But State of Mind and Spor are getting DL'd tonight for sure. Thanks for the help.

Freebase Dali 06-25-2009 08:54 PM

You guys will love Spor. He's right up there with Noisia, only more liquid.

Let me know what you think of State of Mind, they're from New Zealand. We are obsessed with drum and bass over here, it's our culture as well as dub.

Would appreciate it man, trying to build my collection with some quality electronica.

It's called being open minded I think and it's aggressive and sounds great loud.

State of Mind = Greatest thing I've ever heard. It's so agressive and yet ambient at times without getting boring. Great stuff. Recommend anything similar?

No hurry man. I know how busy you are. Holding down all the major threads in the lounge and all...

Leasing-Vertrag 07-11-2009 04:38 AM

Haven't checked the forums in a while, sorry for not replying.

I looked up Shapeshifter quickly on youtube, ran across a group named shapeshifters, but I assume thats something else entirely.

I did listen to the following tracks by Shapeshifter:

One
Bring Change
Electric Dream
Stryka

It's a little bit more uplifting and less aggressive than what I typically look for in DNB, but true enough, it evokes powerful emotions, which is primarily what I look for in music.

Thanks for the great recommendation.

To be honest, I don't "get" the majority of DNB either, but the same is true for me of any given genre.....you should make the effort to delve deeper and see what else DNB has to offer, its entirely possible you'll find a few things that might appeal to you. Unless you're content with easily accessible popular mainstream music (which has nothing at all wrong with it), you'll have to invest a bit of time into finding music that really speaks to you. These forums are more or less the best place available to do so, a lot of very intuitive, intelligent, and knowledgeable people are willing to help you broaden your musical horizons.

Here's a couple of the more recent tracks I've latched onto, feel free to let me know what you lot think.

No Retreat - Rawkweila
Warlords Rising - Future Prophecies
Reign Of Fire - Blame
Warrior - Calyx and Teebee
Judgement (Informer) - Chase and Status
Mother - Equand (aka UI)

How dare you! lol...

It's definitely not as big an adventure of internet speed when making posts as opposed to uploading large files.

If anyone is looking for any mellow DnB then look no further than this beauty:

Ten years old and still damn fine.

Here's the dizzle, folks.
If you want the download I sent to Crash, PM me for the link.

Basically it's several Spor releases and some other tracks. 10 tracks in total, all high quality. 110 MB download.

This Spor comp is pretty sweet. The afterlife track was my favorite on there, but there's a lot of quality stuff on here. Get it everyone.

Yea I love Afterlife by Desimal. I have some other tunes by him, but they're not melodic like that. Most of his stuff is pretty sparse and not too heavy.

Dieselboy 11-22-2009 08:06 PM

Does anyone else listen to Fabio and Grooveriders DnB radio show at all?

It's pretty much my favorite radio show along with ASOT. I used to have to get it on torrent every week, but with radio1's new Iplayer thing, you can listen to the whole show whenever you want on their site. It's always good, so I thought I'd just put it in here in case anyone didn't know or might be interested.
This week's show especially was really good...a ton of really hard dnb with some great basslines.

Anyway, its BBC - BBC Radio 1 Programmes - Fabio and Grooverider if people wanna check it out. Just scroll down a bit and click on the link under 22/11/2009.

(I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting that link. Not totally sure how that works, but if I am then I apologize and a mod can just delete it >< )

dnbDreamz 11-23-2009 12:09 AM

friend introduced me to this song, very brilliant

Telemetrik - The Bane

It's been out a few weeks I think.

There's a bop track on it, his album is great.
