Default Back In The Day - Electronic Faves

So I've been thinking a lot about the Electronic I listened to when I first got into it, and during my first several years of becoming acquainted with it, and there are artists & songs I have a sentimental connection with because of that. I thought I would share some of them, and let everyone use this thread as an opportunity to share their own and reminisce about their Electronic faves from back in the day.

Around 98/99ish, back in my raver days, this here was a song I
danced to, fucked to, tripped to, rolled to, and did crazy shit with
glow-sticks to. I'll remember it forever.

Here's one off the Sasha/Digweed Northern Exposure: Expeditions
CD that I loved. Circa '99.

Switching up to D&B, this is one of the first tunes I remember that
got me into D&B. At the time, there was a big focus on Ragga Jungle,
and I didn't really dig it all that much. The harder stuff was harder to
find at the time, with a lot of tunes being either jazzy or minimal, and
I remember this track being the one that created a sort of bridge for me
to understand how well the genre, as a whole, could reinvent itself
and create new things.

Then I got into Techstep. Don't ask me why I love it so much...
I can't really describe it. I couldn't then, and I still can't now,
even though this type of Techstep is nowhere near what it has
evolved into today.

I guess it has all evolved from there.
There are a lot more from back in the day, but for now, this is what I'll start it off with.

I was never one for going to raves but Electronic music has always been in the background for me. Let's share some stuff.

It's 1984, I'm 12, it's the summer holidays, Beverley Hills Cop was THE film to see as hearing men swear so well is cool when your 12 and every young kid was breakdancing (badly) in gangs and taking on everyone else in street 'battles'. This track always reminds me of those days.

It's 1985, blah, blah, blah. This song was everywhere and we were all enthralled at the scratching, loops and soundbites even though we didn't actually know what they were! Another classic track from my youth.

1987. The UK music charts were as crap as ever and along comes this record with no stars, a vid with no band and the best ever sample to this day (around 1 min 45) was heard and I loved it. Even though I was into my second year of Metal music induction, I still liked other music and sounds even then.

I don't even own the song but it was quite a big thing over here to have something radically different to listen to back then.

More to come.
