I smoke, and the only time that smoke free bars bother me is in the winter months. I suppose it gets them better business, because I have to be pretty liquored up to be able to handle the frigid outside temperature when I need a smoke break.

Around here, an abnormally high percentage of the populace smoke, probably because it's so affordable relative to other places in the country. I get Marlboro, and for that, it's the most expensive at $5 a pack with tax. Cigarettes like Pall Mall are $3 a pack. I went to Ohio, and my cigarettes were over $7 a pack.

I don't think these sections work. It's smoke, it's gonna travel.

I'm not sure I understand, if your waitress is a non-smoker, serving a smoking section...? Are pubs supposed to hire smoking staff for smoking sections?

There is a no smoking law where you can not smoke inside bars in Australia. Smoking is fine outside though. The government is trying, well apparently, restrain smoking in general massively by smoking tax now. Besides from millions of ads promoting health, and clearing the cover of cigarettes. But still for the most part think it's some other method for making more money. Just like poker machines tax.

Seriously. When you're sober, you want a cigarette. When you're drinking, you'd kill a hobo with a hammer for a cigarette.

Actually it doesn't bother me all that much. Plus the drunker I get, the less I care. So just keep the drinks flowing and you can smoke all you want. But only out on the patio, which is just a way better place to be I think - I love having drinks outside when it's warm out!
