I hated Waking Life so much. That movie made me angry... A Scanner Darkly was pretty sweet though. Very faithful to the book.

A Scanner Darkly was faithful to the book, but I though it was a bit rushed and they did miss a few semi important things out. Plus, I ****ing hate Keanu Reeves. The dude can't act.

The book is sensational though. Philip K Dick is probably my favourite writer.

I really like Darren Aronofsky as well, but I saw the Fountain a few weeks ago, and I didn't really dig it too much. Although I really like his other two movies a lot. Everybody should challenge themselves by watching Requiem For A Dream three times in a row.

Anyway, I also really liked Waking Life and have been meaning to see A Scanner Darkly, but I've heard that Keanu Reeves almost ruins the movie. I think the only characters he can play well is clueless characters like Neo in the first Matrix. Have you seen him in Thumbsucker? It's a great movie, but goddamn, he sucks at playing a crazy hippie/pseudo-shrink/dentist.

I'm like movies alot more. I want to be a director, and movies are pretty much my life. Music is good to, but I can get tired of listening to music after a while, never with movies.

You liked Waking Life? And you didn't like The Fountain? :/

I just saw The Fountain last night and I thought it was very very good... and I wasn't even under the influence. I also saw Tideland last week or so and that was a very good movie as well... very disturbing but unique. The only criticism I have of it is Terry Gilliam's pretentious intro... oh well.

I didn't like The Fountain because some of the things in it just seemed too ridiculous, so I ended up making fun of how ridiculous it was. And the thing is the dagger being a map or whatever just seemed way too cliche. Although I probably would have enjoyed that movie a whole lot more if I had been on drugs. As for Waking Life, I thought it was pretty unique and interesting. I also am kind of a sucker for incredibly loose plot lines.

Really want to see THE FOUNTAIN. A requiem for a dream is jaw droppingly good. Loose plotlines? checkout THE JACKET-love it.
