I use a PC, and I may as well be an audio/video professional. I use Adobe CS4, and it runs great (even with full HD video) on my $300 PC, with a $50 video card. I can only run newer graphics intensive games at medium or lower, but the only new game I play on my comp is Spore, and that runs fine on full settings. My comp has never crashed (although my external hard drive has, but that's another issue entirely). There is no reason why a PC can not run graphic intensive software, and if I bought a better graphics card I could run just about anything. I will admit that iMovie>Windows Movie maker, but since I use Adobe it doesn't matter. I don't have a huge problem with mac, I'm just used to using a PC.
