Seriously I'm beginning to sense alot of hate in the musicbanter communtity. Can't we all just get along?

And ignore coryallen?

Yeah I have been thinking this myself but I think its only natural, suppose it would be boring if everybody had the same opinions etc etc. As for CoryAllen, I am willing to accept him the same way I am willing to accept any other member on this forum, although you may argue some of my comments contradict this statement...

Also I take this comment back, I dont want to be drawn into silly wee rivalries with other members. Like the other guy said, cant we all just at least try and get along?

First off I have'nt done anything extremly out of picture. Every forum has an idiot. I'm really not that bad. Actually the way you guys are makign the forum look bad is doing this stuff to members. They will see this and say "wow if I post a pointless thread in the lounge they will try to delete all of my posts." You guys can try to delete all of my posts but what teh hell is that going to do? It is'nt going to make me think anything diffrent? I've been banned twice now. I'm on my third strike and now I am watching my posts and seeing that you guys are serious. And to people who don't like me, shut the hell up. Don't waste your time then.

You guys degrade me and everything on here but you still have to mention about the few posts I have made on here that are bad. You guys make fun of me and stuff and expect my posts to come back really great and everything. I don't start the worthless conversations. I liek to talk so if I see a conversation I put my 2 cents in. Yea it may be bad at times but the way I am being portrayed is very inaccurate. I'm not this bad guy of Muisicbanter. I'm a new user that hasent yet fell in the right way.

I agree, he is a young man that needs guidance. Unfortunately he's proved to us all that he doesn't want guiding.

I agree'd to guidance but you dumped me oput on the road when my little brother posted. You guys can say what you want but that user was my brother. You gys always think of the negatives and bash me around. Then I have to look at thread like this.

Think of things from my end. I have been banned and when I get unbanned I see nothing but the users and mods poking fun at my banning and bringing up older things. I am a real person and threads liek this do really hurt my feelings. I have been disrespected on this site a great deal. A few pointless post are to much to ask?

It also occurs to me in this thread alot of people are **** riding the mods. Do you guys hate me because I speak my mind or something?

Guybrush 06-08-2009 07:49 AM

Cory, for a long time, you've been the one member here that requires the most amount of moderation. I had a busy day on the forum the day you got back from being banned. Regular members here won't really know how much work you create because they can't read all the PMs and see the deleted threads and posts. You can't understand how much work you cause because if you did, you wouldn't cause it in the first place.

By getting defensive and making the problem seem smaller than it is, you're really only showing that you don't understand how you and your posting habits affect this place. If there's anything you can do to redeem yourself, it's to take some responsibility and see the problems that we've been complaining about for months now.

We know you're a good guy, that's why you're still here .. but I think we're all past the point where we're just gonna be nice to you and hope you shape up because we've all tried it and it never worked. The only thing that's worked has been infractions and the threat of bans.

coryallen2 06-08-2009 07:52 AM

But posting threads about me is right? That is just wrong Tore and you know it. What kind of message do you think members making fun of me and mods making threads poking fun sends? I don't make posts to annoy you guys.

On the note of deleting my posts. You should not have any say in this. It's my opinion. Everyone is intitled to their own opinion and on musicbanter it seems I am not.

And tore I have been trying to redeem myself. What about the bargin me and you amde? I'm not double posting anymore. Give me time. There is more hate in this community then peopel that want to help me. This poll is rubbish btw. Nobody is going to look at the point. Your going to have meat heads that see my username and vote yes.

Guybrush 06-08-2009 08:07 AM

Even if making threads about you is not ideal, it's the result of a chain of cause and consequence brought on by your behaviour on the forum. You don't see Urban making threads about everyone on here. Wether or not this thread exists or not, it doesn't change the fact that you do require a lot of moderation either. This thread is not the problem.

As for other members making fun of you, we can't fully protect you against that either. Again, it's cause and consequence.

If you think you're entitled to post here, you're incorrect. Posting on musicbanter is a privilege, not a right. Just read the rules.

coryallen2 06-08-2009 08:09 AM

I never said posting on musicbanter was my right. What my rights are is to get a little respect from people. you guys have blown this whole ordeal out of porportion.

Roygbiv 06-08-2009 08:34 AM

How about this:

Instead of deleting all of his posts or banning him, why not enable an "ignore" option for people who really don't want to see his posts on the boards. That way, those who don't mind will still see him around, and he can use the boards the way we all have a right to.

just a suggestion.

coryallen2 06-08-2009 08:37 AM

Alrighty then toretor bye bye sexual experiences thread.

• We also do not allow posts that are sexual in nature, or violate the MusicBanter community standards.

Bye bye this thread

• While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks, or purposeless inflammatory posts.

This is what I have to work on

• Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) nonsense posts, or the like.

Valid points Cory, but don't forget this bit : "The MusicBanter moderating team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards."

I'm probably more in favour for just blindly enforcing rules than other mods and members on this forum, but still, the point of having rules here is to create an environment that promotes positive contributions to the forum while discouraging negative ones. Mods generally won't get upset with posts that are positive contributions to the forum, even if they are sexual in nature. As for changes to the forum, I agree - an ignore function would be good and I'm surprised I haven't seen one. However, adding new functionality to the forum is not always straightforward. We might bring it up with Yac.
