If they don't see his posts, then they have no thing to complain about.

They WILL still see his posts though. They just won't see what's written in them.

The major complaint about him is that he fills the forum with loads & loads of small posts. With the ignore posts activated these posts don't go away, so the problem in effect is still there.

Can you imagine that though? A newbie signs up.. says "What's with this guy CoryAllen?". A mod says, "Just put him on ignore". It's way too weird.

I'm sure the newbs will figure out the ignore button soon enough.

Forgive me if I step on any toes, since I don't feel I've been here long enough/contributed enough to really have any say in the matter, but wouldn't deleting all his posts cause more confusion/work?

More to the point, if someone had quoted him at some point, the quote would need to be removed to, since it would be referring to a now non-existant post.

What if a sub forum was created where members like corryallen would be sent for rehabilitation and be restricted to making threads and posts in that forum only.
Regular members would be able to post reply as usual.
Once he learns how to behave in that sub forum, then and only then, would he be allowed back into the community. Any decent threads made during his time in the 'rehab' sub-forum will be moved to the correct places in the regular forums on his release.

A bit like a mental hospital, or a prison for rehabilitating problem members.
Obviously, corryallen wouldn't be the only inmate. I can think of a few others that would need to join him in there.
The mods wouldn't have to run around cleaning up after him because it would be contained all in one place.
His progress would be in his own hands.

He's already admitted he like's the place and needs time to settle in.
Surely that's better than banning him?

Now that's what I call thinking outside the box RT. Sounds like a plausable idea to me.

I'm not sure if that was all ironic (or sarcastic, whatever) but I actually like that idea.
