I hate to assume, but you do know you're talking about YorkeDaddy's teenage scruff, right?

Oh no hun, I was talking to you about beards. :)

I am definitely not a paedophile lol.

I agree I don't party like I used to. But I don't want too, I mean I enjoy getting pleasantly ****ed up on my couch. Just means, I don't act like an immature ******* in public. If I get wasted it's gonna be in the privacy of my own home. Age brings wisdom.

Wisdom says they south likes to send you to prison for dumb ****. Wisdom says get ****ed up on the couch and **** around on the internet. No cops there. Ha!

OMG this! I am the same, I used to party all through University but also had done so from about 14 years old (but no in clubs till 18). I got to about 23 and it sort of melted away and I enjoyed other things. My friends and I do things like movies or aqua jogging.

Well, one is Professor John Frink from the Simpsons and the other is Thomas Dolby, so no, neither are me. In spirit maybe. ;)

I'm off to check now. And I would never scoff at you, you know that. I wondered what op was: so it's a shop? Thrift shop or something? Sorry if I assume; I've never heard of it. Also, what's OE?

Lol that's okay. I have a more exciting life playing computer games. I tend to bring up Fallout a lot. I'm currently playing Diablo.

Me too. Just yesterday I saved the galaxy, destroyed a sentient spaceship that was miles long, and killed the alien council that rules over the Milky Way to replace it with all humans.

I thought you said you were playing computer games?? You deserve a medal! Why was this not on the news!!!??? :yikes:

Xurtio 04-07-2014 11:08 AM

I have no idea how to judge how old I act. I'm 32 and I feel old. I probably shouldn't, but I do.

Tristesse 04-07-2014 02:51 PM

I act pretty much my actual age on here, but on plug I act at least 5 years younger. I mean I play Hanson every day there, for god's sake.

James 04-07-2014 05:17 PM

I don't really like the concept of 'acting your age'. I am eighteen, and that in no way affects the way I act.

WWWP 04-07-2014 05:34 PM

I have no idea how old I act. I feel probably 20 years older than my actual age.

You act older. Sorry. :p:

It's not conscious though. I am not sure if it's the case that I 'act older' or if the way I act is just perceived as the way an older person would act. It could be pedantic but I don't know, the word 'act' just seems to imply a degree of falsity and I see myself as a fairly upfront person.

Usually when people toss around the whole "acting your age" thing. It is generally to be condescending.

Especially from parents asking why you aren't acting your age.

Black Shadow 04-08-2014 09:28 AM

18 here!

I agree with your first sentence because that's about societal expectations. But I disagree with your second sentence. Neurotypical individuals are undergoing lots of brain and chemistry changes at your age. Frontal lobe myelination is still completing, sexual identity is manifesting and these carry real behavioral consequences with them.

That's not to say it's always automatically bad behavior or that you will act like every other 18 year old, but it certainly has an influence on behavior overall.

The Batlord 10-11-2020 03:40 PM

Marie Monday 10-11-2020 03:48 PM

Frownland 10-11-2020 04:16 PM

I'm alternating between 65 and 5 these days, no in between.

If you go by what music I like - taken the fact I like J.S. Back - my "musical taste" age would be 300 y/o at least. However I act like a 14 y/o on these here boards as not to be too haughty. No one wants likes being talked down to by some 300 y/o guy about music.

Marie Monday 10-11-2020 04:48 PM

^that's accurate. You're enigmatically ageless <3

ps. JS Back lol
