Xbox 360 OR PS3?
 

Hello Guys,

I'm newbie in this community and also new in gaming world. Idon't have a proper knowledge about consoles..So guys suggest me which console is better for me Xbox360 or PS3???

You can have a lot of fun with just a PS2. I never felt the need to upgrade to a PS3.

You don't need to buy every new thing that comes out, so just pick the one which supports your favourite games.

i've pretty much decided on a 360 next

already hacked into and pirated games on DVDs are available (some say this is a rip-off, but i don't wanna get a custom burner and downloads which might or might not work)

PS3 you can only stored hacked games on the hard drive

This kind of thing all comes down to personal preference. I, for example, dislike both of them so ended up switching to a PC. Tell us what you'd like from your console and we'll get a better idea of which is better.

PS3. I'm a sucker for free online play and the added blu-ray player isn't too shabby, other than that it doesn't make a difference, it won't make a crap game any better. I suppose you could look at the exclusives to make your mind up, that's what they're there for.

Xbox 360 is best or the game I play most (FIFA 12) and from what I am told, is just a superior console in every way other than the free online.

that's a bold claim that gets thrown around all to much by fan boys on both sides, every time a new game comes out the analysists flock and argue over subtle differences.

i think the games are about the same

some work better on a PS3, some on a 360

it's just that a 360 makes more sense to me economically

and i don't see anything great about Blu-Ray, except for tons of "features" which i don't want, anyway

I was always jealous of the Internet browser on both the Wii and Ps3, leaving the Xbox in the dust. This new update brought YouTube to the Xbox 360, which in my book, is a definite plus. As an owner of both systems, I do have to say the online in the Xbox 360 is a lot better, the connection, the HUD, players (more of a challenge on Xbox 360), but of course, the major drawback is Microsoft are greedy *******s and require Gold subscription to use any of their services. I still say Xbox.

PS3 is a better console physically, the hardware is better and less likely to break, and has free online.
Xbox has better online, but you have to pay for it.
Both have their own exclusive games.

Considering I just had my third Xbox 360 die on me in a little over 4 years. I'm going to say go for the PS3. I hear their failure rate isn't quite as high as the 360's, however if you do decide to go 360 then get their new slim line version.

PS3 has more exclusive titles and you do get the satisfaction of using it as a blu-ray player (although I heard it's bad for it because the laser's activated all the time rather than in gaming when it's just activated to load up incoming content.

The differences between PS3s and 360s are very little. If you're planning on playing online with friends a lot then i suggest just getting the one which most of your friends have. This was the main reason i got a PS3 over a 360.

As per my point of view XBox 360 is the best game console because it gives better and great resolution in games. The style and design of XBox 360 is really fantastic.This is the best selling console in the world.

If it's so well designed then why does it have a 52.4% failure rate?

I only choose a 360 because of the reasons i said earlier.

I have a 360. I was tossing up for ages between whether to get a Playstaion 3 or Xbox 360. I went with the 360 because most of my friends use the console and I can play online with them. That's the sole reason really...

I've been a Sony guy since PS1 so thats why I went with a PS3. The free PSN was a factor too, even if it wasnt up to the same kinda standard. Thats not as much of a factor now that theres premium accounts.

That's a strong 2.5 year old article you have there. I'd be interested to see the numbers with the slim and elite 360's cause I rarely ever hear about the RROD anymore.

This was my position until I saw the PS3 launch price of $600 and took a pass on Sony this gen. Hopefully they won't make the same mistake and then I'll gladly jump back on their ship.

My apologies, so for its first 4 1/2 years of it's almost 7-year lifespan it had a 50% failure rate. That's not bad at all.

Well I would just argue that it isn't applicable anymore, i.e. if you're a consumer trying to decide between the two, it's not something really worth considering anymore.

3-4 years ago, yeah it sucked. Though I must've lucked out as I got my 360 in 2005 and haven't had any issues.

@Pete They can be a complete mess but the newer models are much improved in that regard.

I remember bashing Sony pretty hard in the lead up to the PS3... now I own one and I'll never give it up, I don't think I'll ever bother with a 360.

On the other hand the original Xbox was a thing of absolute beauty once it was modded, the 360... not so much.

Ultimately though it all depends on what you want to do with the machine.

I own both machines and have far more love for the 360 than the PS3. Which is the complete opposite to the first X Box and PS2, where the PS2 won hands down.

Not true. The graphics on both systems are pretty much identical. Any differences are so small that they aren't noticeable.
