it seems that whenever the topic comes up you either have conservatives who believe every woman to ever claim rape is a liar and people on the other side who will always side with the accuser. the reality is that both sides happen (albeit one much more than the other, that we can all agree on im sure) and it's clear that we need to have a better understanding as a society of what exactly constitutes sexual assault, rape, sexual harassment etc.

there's nothing wrong with what Ki said, although he could have certainly worded it better. you were just looking to start an argument to make him look like some sort of victim blamer.

To be fair it was pretty easy to see it as victim blaming. And I don't think it necessarily wasn't anyway.

I mean, I don't disagree with that knowledge being important but I meant a non-issue in context of the subject at hand and in terms of what it's made out to be. "The sky is falling" encompasses that.

To be fair, I thought he was just trolling because he did a pretty great job of looking like a victim-blamer.

I'd like to have it pointed out in my post where I showed any indication of victim blaming. I said in situations of rape, it's possible for the victim to be either the man or woman, or neither. I also said that if neither person tries to stop it, they cannot be a victim. You can't just call it rape if you regret it the next day.

That example of them sleeping is a poor one since I'm pretty sure, given the crcumstance, the person would wake up and attempt to stop it.

I disagree. I think the point here is that sometimes women(possibly men under special circumstances) may be too overwhelmed or scared to stop it from happening. I think realistically consent is more than just letting something happen, which is why it's such a complicated mess.

Did you get bored of your new job, and this is why you're seeking validation through trolling? I understand obviously, but trolling a rape thread is still lame.

Right here

This is basically saying that the victims are as bad as a rapist. If you don't think that's victim blaming then I don't know what to say except that you're way wrong.

Nice. So banging someone when they're asleep is their fault because they shoulda woke up and stopped you?

Your posts lack some serious perspective man.

And I don't disagree with that. I don't think that was ever in question.

Do you...even read posts? The last part is so off the mark that it's actually hilarous.

Read mine and prove me wrong more specifically. Until then I'll assume that you are incapable of defending your point.

I think it's just your wording, Kiiii.
