Things that make you feel old

Knowing what a rotary dial telephone is and knowing how to use one.

When you realize your arms are no longer long enough for you to be able to read most books and restaurant menus without a pair of reading glasses.

When you think back on some memorable events from your 30's and 20's, that seem like they happened 6 or 7 or 8 years ago, and you realize they actually happened two to three times longer ago than you first thought.

When you make a pop culture reference to someone in their teens or twenties and they have no idea what you're talking about.

When someone in their teens or twenties makes a pop culture reference to you and you have no idea what they're talking about.

Same. I was having a conversation with one of my customers (a senior citizen) the other day about how people my age (mid 20s) are so hooked on technology, so connected to everyone and everything, all the time, and we both agreed that it's strange, unnecessary, and slightly horrifying.

Pretty much my entire front-end staff at work (and the fact that I take the youngest ones under my wing because they're practically overgrown children)
The fact that you can't say "here's a dime; call someone who cares" anymore, because nobody would understand you/if pay phones still exist somewhere, they're probably super expensive now.
The fact that I enjoy drinking but I don't want to get drunk.
My little sister (who I practically raised myself) is 20 years old. TWENTY. WHAT THE HELL.
The fact that my significant other is a couple years younger than me, and I consider him somewhat sheltered in contrast to all the adventures I've had in the past 10 years. (But it makes me happy that I can teach him necessary things about being an adult.)

No, it's a "thing that makes me feel old". Seeing a comment about driving made me realize it's been 21 years since I got my license, which is the drinking age here.

i remember those, i kinda miss them actually i liked the sound the little number wheel made.

plus back then you had to memorise somebody's phone, nowadays if i lose my cellphone i can't call most of my friends cause i don't remember their number!

You know how camera work and picture quality all kind of look the same for whatever decade they're in so you can pretty much date any TV show/movie you watch just by how it looks? It makes me feel old when I realize that I remember a time when TV looked different.

I am glad that I don't have to waste space remember random people's numbers. Also back in those days people just ended up either using a phone book or having your own personal phone book that you wrote their numbers down in. You didn't have to remember them back then either.
