there are many great bands now..
it took me a while to grow into finally sitting down and letting myself listen to emo or indie screamo, and i'm sure other types of music.. i don't know why.. its like i listened to zep, morrison and floyd.. but then again i listened to some really crapy music to.. like hardcore 80's one hit onders.. i mean come on.. but i also liked tool sense i was like 13-14 and liked nirvava sense i was kid sense i watched there smells like teen sprite video haha.. GOLD! anyways..but many of the bands i added to my listening list i wouldn't listen to like ever in this life time because i thought other then what i already listened to the rest of the music in the world was total crap.. but then i got into cold.. yes cold.. thne many other great bands... but in the middle of all of this i would always go on a little music hunt to see if there was more then just crap out there.. and i have foudn so much music.. and i'm so happy.. :o) well no thats a lie.. i'm a depressing moron.. but i'm happy with the music i listen to...

etc.... but ya.. no crap! at leats not in my opinion.. but then again if i thought it was crap why would i listen to it..

wait i do have some crap.. like nevermore , and 4skins.. i hate them both but have one album from each.. why because i wanted to see what they were all about.. and there all about crap.. crap i tell you hah.. moving on!

I have music by all of these groups, and like it very much. I have heard stuff by most of the rest of them and am just not impressed. What would this world be like anyways if everybody liked the exact same music? BTW, alot of these are not really 90's to present, since you condemned my list for not all being classic rock. I had alot of those names on my list too, though youprobly just blew past it and concluded they all suck.

So out of all of those bands he listed, you like the ones that sound like bad rehashes of Classic Rock bands you love (minus a select few)? Surprise, surprise.

The reason I think Rap sucks is becuase it is mostly the same subjects in every song, there is rarely a song that has real meaningful lyrics, mostly just random lines that rhyme with each other discussing A) rims/cars B)bitches/hoes, C) drugs. Rappers seem to especially nowadays all copy each other to make more $$$. Modern rap is backed up by drum machines, synthesizers, and computer made sounds. Since the beginning of music it has been played by instruments and took talent to play them, except for the rare exception of acapella. Rap is the only genre that does not follow that. Rap is too much about Image to me and makin sure your listening to it not becuase it sounds good, but makes you cool. Rappers also have a large vocabulary of made up words, as if the English language is not good enough for them, they have words like bling, g, crunk, illest, flossin, and tons others, just read my post in another thread on rap vocabulary. Rap is also responsible for a lot of violence and death in society, not only the rappers themselves but others that look up to them and gangs and such. Its all part of a lifestyle, one that is not healthy for our society. Sure the music I like went hand in hand with drug use, but how does toking up and listening to ramble on compare to imitating what eminem sings about killing his mother and pissing on her grave, that was unheard of in the days of classic rock. Go on about how classic rock sucks now please.

Sorry but all that crap is like saying all Led Zeppelin lyrics go 'Baby baby baby baby baby baby'

And I think you`ll find rap has it`s roots in soul & funk.
And why shouldn`t they use synths & drum machines? Music is about making a sound with what you have , it doesn`t have to be bass , guitar & drums.

BTW loads of classic rock bands used synths so shut the f*ck up.
