I never used to like the idea of it, I always get the feeling people are looking and thinking "HA look at that guy by himself" although this probably isn't the case at all. I missed out on the opportunity to see far too many bands because of friends bailing, so one day I just decided I'd go alone to any that no one would come with me for.

It's not all that bad, first one I done alone was J Mascis & The Fog and the crowd were awesome, got talking to some thirtysomething guys who were really neat. So yeah, it isn't all that bad and sometimes you meet really nice people. Plus, I think I'd rather go alone than drag someone along who wasn't into the music, so I didn't constantly have to worry if they're bored or if they enjoy it.

I have been a couple of concerts alone and i didn't really get bothered by the fact that I was by myself... it allowed me to focus on the music better, and i didn't have to put up with the annoyance of having my friends rip on songs they didn't like but I loved, etc... deep down, I think i am a hermit anyways...

... In twenty years you'll find me in my log cabin miles from anyone or anywhere with a long beard... can't do the funny smell thing though because i like to shower too much...

Go to gigs alone if its important enough for you.
I quoted this post because I thought it was the only one of its kind but I see there's a bunch of responses to this topic.

I've missed so many concerts because people have bailed on me. I've missed an entire day of SXSW and free shows because my "friends" are so damn lame. After reading some of these posts however, I will definitely be going by myself to any important show whenever the need arises. I rather be made fun of for going alone than miss another show!

It's more fun to go with some friends but you can let loose and have a lot more freedom without them.

The best concerts to go to with friends are the kind where all friends concerned really love the band and the music... Then there isn't the annoying sarcasm from friend a or the despondent bad attitude from friend B... everyone winds up having a good time and not pooping on the good time being had by others...

I'm going to see Jerry Lee Lewis in Las Vega on June 30. The show is at the Rio inside the brand new Crown Theater. I saw Prince when he was performing in the same location a few years ago. It was a good concert venue them and, by the looks of the website( THE CROWN VEGAS), looks even better show. It should be a good show!
