of concerts at about 10/12/12/10 hours/day, I think we saw about 60% of what
we wanted to see. Don’t forget there’s the 12 hour drone fest that you walk into
occasionally ... and the galleries and special events. I never went to any of the
film events. Oh! and you have talks that’ll be given too. Caffeinated buzzing!!!
Definitely a good problem. I'm a huge fan of live scores during screenings, but I might skip the ones that they're having at the festival for fear of falling asleep after marathoning concerts. Not sure if I'll see any speakers, it'd have to be pretty interesting for me to skip a show for it.

Also, if it helps with your decisions: Nief-Norf seems to play every year.
We'll see but I'm pretty interested in seeing an ensemble that large. I'm sure that someone's gonna get cut too. Oh and the Lucier performance of I Am Sitting in a Room is going to be a must as well. And KTL. And Tim Berne's Snakeoil. And Thumbscrew. And Yves Tumor. And Fire!. And Jlin...****.

They started moving the talks to late morning or early afternoon last year,
so, for example, we could see Roedelius talk at something like 1PM and
there might be a ďminorĒ band playing somewhere else. Yes, thereís the
heavy acts usually between 5 and 10PM, so sometimes thatís when the
decision making has to happen - but hey! itís an incredible environment.

My story about my first time performing ď...Sitting...Ē is that I had the first
recording of it from the early 70s. I hadnít yet met Lucier so I didnít know
that he had a speech impediment and thought that the stuttering part was
part of the piece, so I included it in the recitation. It added some rhythm. 🤪

Any chance to sneak in to the show? Maybe try to make a fake press pass. Or wear a bright vest that makes you look like a worker that is doing . . . work . . . on the site? Where there's a will, there's a way! Or maybe blow the door man.

Nah, unfortunately it’s in Glasgow city centre and in probably the smallest venue in the country so it will be one door in and one door out. Plus doormen are usually wanks

The announcement for this was a month off so I didn't go, but there's a performance of Music for 18 Musicians that same weekend that I'm going to catch.
