I should be seeing Opeth on wednesday but I can't find a ****ing ride

Phantom Limb 10-16-2011 11:57 PM

Wu Lyf in November. They're gonna play the 7th Street entry which is a pretty small venue so it should be an intense show.

Not sure if your question was referring to 'X' or the 'Manzarek & Krieger' tour?
But they are both on the road in the USA and having just attended one of the X shows, I have to say "they were on fire and delivering the musical goods in glorious audio abundance!"

And considering the fact that Ray Manzarek produced the Los Angeles album by X, there is also an interesting connection between the two of them.

7th Street Entry is a fine small venue.....does 1st Ave still hand out free tickets to upcoming shows?.....i was able to see some great bands through that

I just decided not to go and see them here tonight. I only listened to the first half of their album this morning, so it's not like I can call myself a fan. I'm just preparing myself for now really getting into their album and as a result, being very annoyed with myself!

Arya Stark 10-17-2011 02:47 PM

Tila Tequila is coming to a club nearby... does that count?

/rando post.

zachsd 10-17-2011 04:39 PM

Saw Swans a couple weeks ago. Fucking insane show, as to be expected.

brandilistens 10-17-2011 05:01 PM

Have quite a few shows coming up... Das Racist, Social D with The Hold Steady, Thrice, Herbie Hancock, The Wombats, Hum, Paul Simon, Mates of State, Chris Isaak, Peter Murphy with She Wants Revenge, Wilco and Florence + the Machine with Two Door Cinema Club and Cowboy Indian Bear.

Excited!

High On Fire | Galaxy Theatre

Nice HIGH ON FIRE for 15 dollars on November 10th at The Galaxy Theater. incredibly small venue with a great view from anywhere. Thursday night, here comes a sick day.

I envy you so much. Here's hoping you don't get run over during Dillinger's set!

Haha, I think we'll probably get mezzanine (balcony) tickets anyway, since they're cheaper and floor GA might be sold out by the time we get there

Hoping to go see Scratch Acid tomorrow night. I don't have tickets yet though.

Dr_Rez 11-05-2011 01:53 AM

I just saw buckethead and it was amazing. His bungie guitar strap is the best. He is so tall in person, and looks so odd (counting out the mask and bucket)

All hail the bucket.

I loved them. Didn't know they were back together.

Where did you see him? I saw him last month, it was amazing. And yes, I love the bungie strap. One of the best concerts ive ever seen. Did he bust out any dancing solos?

Also, saw Modest Mouse last night. It wasn't bad, but I wasn't very impressed.

Did you win them on the radio? -- do they still even give tickets away on the radio? I used to call in all the time for that shit. Not for anything nearly as exciting as Morrissey, unfortunately.

Nah uh, I won through twitter. The venue had a thing where if you tweet them, you can win and miraculously I won. My boyfriend actually bought tickets though and I figured he wouldn't get them, so now I have four tickets. lol.

Mojo 11-19-2011 01:38 AM

I'll go! *Puts hand up*

I went to see Yuck last night and it had bloody sold out. I didn't see that coming at all! I was looking forward to that one too.

Ferrari5180 11-22-2011 05:58 PM

On February 17th I am going and watch City and Colour in Montreal @ Metropolis. I have always wanted to see him live. I did so when he played here with Alexisonfire, but that is just not the same. I then went to Osheaga Indie Festival to see him live but he got cut off because other bands surpassed their time slot. Now I finally have 2 tickets, no one to go with really, but I have them. This is probably going to be the best concert of my entire life.

Electrophonic Tonic 11-26-2011 02:09 PM

Today... I'm gonna see The Waiting Room. They're a Peter Gabriel era exclusive Genesis tribute band that puts so many other tribute acts I've seen to shame. For only $5 last year, they played all of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway and a 30 minute encore. They sound dead on, the guy singing is perfect and they include all the costumes too.

jmdelepas 11-27-2011 10:14 AM

In January, I shall be seeing Anthony Green. He is also known as the lead singer of Circa Survive. Kind of a singer-songwriter with his solo project, but I'm hoping he'll play a few Circa songs. I'm pretty psyched, the tickets were pretty cheap too.

Dr_Rez 11-27-2011 01:58 PM

I gona see Jimi Hendrix opening up for Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath tomorrow. Its really happening.
