Hoping to see Doomtree in February, and then Built to Spill at the same venue in March.

I love club shows!

Holy fuck, if tickets are still good by tomorrow I'm going to go to Portland to see Of Montreal.

Sneer 01-01-2012 10:43 PM

Earth, Tim Hecker and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion are all lined up so far this year, I've made it my aim to see Radiohead too.

St-Giles-in-the-Field Church (London), going to be amazing, he's using the church's pipe organ in tandem with his looping and feedback effects.

Oh boy, I'm jealous. Seems to be the only UK date he's playing unfortunately.

Yeah i have tentative plans to attend the off show also. I might be in Mexico that week. The Smut Peddlers are notorious for bringing the 4th reich with them so i'll probably just chill in the back during their set. Melvins would be fun again.

Alfred 01-30-2012 05:27 PM

Rise Against with A Day To Remember and Title Fight in May. Corporate punk rock woooo.

I just found out about this. I will be going to one of their southern california dates :tramp:

Also, the Mastodon, Opeth, Ghost tour dates just got announced. I'll be seeing them on April 26-- Mastodon for the second time but Opeth and Ghost for the first, which works out well since Opeth is closing on this particular date

It's longer than 30 minutes, though obviously not as long as your trip. That's what so weird about mine: If you're going to have a show in the Philly metro area, why on earth would you have it in the suburbs?

ohsen12 01-31-2012 07:39 PM

Going and see City And Colour on February 17th here in Montreal.

That's only about a 45 minute drive away from me. Any word on the line-up yet? I think smaller festivals are more fun, less douchebags and more interesting stuff happening.

I'm going to try to go to Electric Picnic this year though, wanted to go last year but had to go to a wedding instead.

I'd love to be able to go to this, I didn't get to see Mastodon when they were in Toronto with DEP in October. Maybe now will be the time.

LoathsomePete 02-03-2012 03:27 PM

Looks like I'll also be seeing Opeth, Ghost, and Mastodon, although the only show that I'm actually REALLY anticipating is the Ghost one. I haven't really liked the last few Mastodon albums and I've already seen Opeth before so that will just be treading old ground. I haven't looked at how much tickets are, but I'm assuming they're going to be somewhere in the $40-$60 price range. I dunno, I'm not as excited for this one really, but considering I haven't seen a show since May and I've been complaining about nothing good coming to town, I kind of feel like I should go to this.

ohsen12 02-03-2012 03:52 PM

Megadeth and Motorhead are performing a concert here in Montreal today. I would have loved to go, have been listening to Megadeth for years. I would do anything to hear Symphony Of Destruction, Sweating Bullets and A Tout Le Monde live.

Nah, but the line-up isn't why I am going. It is the magic. Man, its beautiful, the atmosphere, the people. Less punters at smaller festivals, more love.

Best festival I have been at, PERIOD. It is genuinely like being in another world. LOL

Decided that in addition to going to see Opeth, Mastodon, and Ghost, I will go see Gwar and Explosions in the Sky in April. Gwar come every year, but for whatever reason I was unable to go in 2010 and 2011, so I'm making up for those absences this year, and as far as EITS... well there's not much else coming to town and tickets are cheap.

Nice. Who's closing for your OMG date?

Also, didn't Gwar lose their guitarist earlier this year?
