I personally wouldn't see those bands for that much money, but if money's no concern then by all means go.

What about if you have'nt heard some bands though? A festival can still be a great experience even if you are not into some of the bands. Some gigs are definitely terrible. Last month I was in London to watch one of my fave bands and they sucked but I'm still glad I went. If it's a financial and logistical struggle then it needs more though but if that's not a problem, then balls to it- enjoy it.

Well like I said, I wouldn't go to a festival unless I was sure there's at least one band I really like playing. Especially if it's a big festival and isn't that close or costs money. It's a hassle to deal with that much people for something you're not really into (and chances are if the guy doesn't like some bands on that list, he won't dig the rest. It appears to be a themed festival).

Well, it pretty much is right outside my door. I haven't heard a lot of the bands playing and would like to - even if I don't end up liking them at least I will have broadened and challenged my musical taste. Plus, I'll be going with a bunch of friends and I'm sure we'll enjoy the day even if the bands aren't that captivating. If worse comes to worse, we'll just get hammered. Haha.

It's a she :D. I understand completely what you are saying and if you really dislike all the bands then by all means don't go but if you are unsure about a few bands and have the neccessary conkers, then take the chance.

Live music is completely different IMO. I can never get into hardcore stuff just sitting at home, but when it's right in front of you it's awesome.

Agreed. I have so many memories of rocking out and having a great time to bands that I was originally unimpressed with and would never listen to their CDs at home or anything.

I'm hoping to see Christopher O'Riley in the coming months. Also, if Mogwai reschedule their postponed North American shows, I'll be heading to see them too.

Tom Gabel is playing in my local music store on monday. It's weird considering I live in the middle of nowhere, but I'm looking forward to it.
