America had the grunge movement. So as far as the last 20 years are concerned? America.

As far as the 60s and 70s go? Well, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd... hard to argue against that.

Normally I'd give you that, Alex my man, but I've had everyone from musical scholars to the check-out guy at the supermarket tell me too much about all three of those guys.

To me there a big detraction.
